If Abbas goes to UN who grant him all of Judea & Samaria and east Jerusalem, order all settlements gone then 2012 will be the year of the next Middle East war. Israel will find the UN demands unacceptable and will not withdraw from strategic areas like the Jordan Valley. It will not just close all the settlements. It will not give up Jerusalem just because the UN ordered it to. Israel may even refuse a transport corridor in an attempt to force the arabs to negotiate. Hamas and others will decide the UN has officially given them a state and Israel is refusing to withdraw and so now they are going to want an intafada to drive Israel out. We will respond with force escalating the thing even further. The palestinian leadership will realise that rushing to the UN and refusing to negotiated was a mistake but by then its to late because now they have a state they can't make the concessions needed without being accused of treachery. There is also the fact the UN isn't looking to try and end the conflict just create an arab state and so they will be making no demands from the arabs. They will not stop demanding right of return and turn it into an issue in its own right that they will fight over and we will just have to slug it out because Israel can't compromise on it and since the UN has already given the arabs their rewards we have no leverage to force the arabs to drop that as a condition of statehood. The arab spring is going to become an arab storm in September if the UN vote in favour of creating an arab state and I am not sure there will be a way out of it. The UN has been the solution Abbas has been looking for from the start. He has refused to talk for the past two years through preconditions to talks to stall it and then blame it all on Israel and get the UN to accept all his demands. There are also just three months between now and September and so even if Abbas was serious about talks and sat down and started talking unconditionally today there is not enough time to reach an agreement.

demands was right before they started another war, I don't think they can demand anything at this moment, without the west world recognize the arabs take over the UN, the UN wasn't created for arab intrests and the west atitude is changing fast lately, and it got nothing to do with Palis, but more issue of controll parts of the world.
