3. Another Peres Obama livni Olmert barak screwup
John cone ,   Usa   (05.29.11)
If this is the way a country that signs a peace treaty acts why sign a peace treaty. The leftist in israel has destroyed any chance for peace.
4. This goes beyond poor sportsmanship.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (05.29.11)
Darwish should be suspended from further international competition. Sadat was right. Israel gave Egypt everything but in return got only a piece of paper.
5. The Egyptian should become a ballerina instead
Joe ,   Los Angeles, USA   (05.29.11)
I can't blame Ahmed or Mohamed or whatever his name is, once again an Egyptian will get his ass handed to him by an Israeli. The Egyptian is scared and afraid. See Ahmed run. See Ahmed hide like a little girl. He should become a women's gymnast instead or a ballet boy.
6. Stop picking on little girls
Josh ,   San Francisco   (05.29.11)
Joe, stop slamming girls women and ballerinas.

9. Another Muslim loss at the hands of a Dhimmi...
shneerhere   (05.29.11)
Nothing like good sportsmanship, eh Mr. Egyptian Judoka? What is that you hear, the echo of '67 ringing in your ears? The International Judo Association should fine his ass for conduct unbecoming of a Judoka!
10. Swimming Lessons
marty ,   Toronto Canada   (05.29.11)
Ramadan Darwish and his fellow Egyptians better take up swimming lessons - next war Aswan Dam will be a target.
11. Nothing has changed
leo ,   nyc   (05.30.11)
As #2 indicated, the Arab Spring is a farce, the consequences of which the media has ignored. All that the masses have to look forward to is seeing Mubarak et al hanging from ropes---what a pity!
12. Journalese puts Israel's triumph in the shade
Baronjudo ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.30.11)
Instead of placing Arik Zeevi's gold medal win at the highly prestigious Moscow Grand Prix where it belongs - at the top of the article - this journalist chooses to detract from Zeevi's glory by usurping him with an incident of poor sportsmanship. Once again journalism plays into the hands of politics.
13. This guy is a man of principle
Sam ,   ME   (05.30.11)
period you don't shake hands with a representative of an occupation. He took a stand and lost because of it now that is a man of honor.
14. Sam #13
R ,   Israel   (05.30.11)
Yeah, the principle of unsportsman-like conduct and acting like a 6 year old girl.
15. #14
Sam ,   ME   (05.30.11)

16. #13 'This guy is a man of principle'
Atom   (05.30.11)
Principle or not nothing has changed... you had your a$$es kicked 4000 yrs ago so what is surprising? Please read about the Jewish prophet Moses while in Egypt.
17. A true champion
Mark ,   Israel   (05.30.11)
Bravo, bravo, bravo to Arik Ze'evi, a gold medal champion, a persistent athlete who has come back from a difficult period to the status of winner once again. A true champion and a real gentleman. God bless you.
18. Kol Ha Kavod, Arik!

20. 13 "sam", so, what is it that youre saying?
itay ,   reut israel   (05.30.11)
"he took a stand and lost BECAUSE of it..." you make it sound like your egyptian friend lost because of not shaking ariks hand, like he is some sort of a hero who sacrificied somthing. news flash: youre egyptian buddy lost in the fight itself. he didnt loose BECAUSE of his un-sportive behaviour, he lost IN-SPITE of it. "man of honor"? sorry, how about mmmm, no?
21. #13 Honor? Bad sport, poor loser....pussy!

Hopeless mate...you guys are very very good at twisting and contorting the truth - if nothing else. Spite is a bad thing. You are losers and will keep losing.

Dr Yeruham Leavitt ,   Kiriat Arba, ISRAEL   (06.11.11)

26. It goes beyond a Sports Event...
Mahmoud ,   Cairo/Egypt   (11.05.11)
This isn't about some game of Judo, the two parties have had their difference since Israel occupied Palestine and Sinai of Egypt. The fact is Israel kills tens of Arabs everyday yet nobody cares about that. If I refuse to shake hands with a man who's country has stood for murder ever since it was built, that's my concern. Until then I'll have all Americans whom don't know anything about the political situation on any place of the world other than the places they've invaded shut up. It goes beyond a game of Judo, had the Egyptian won, he still would never have shook hands with the Israeli.
