1. Maybe one reason Turkey is Israel's #3 export market
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (05.31.11)
In the last quarter, exports (excluding diamonds) to Turkey reached $500 million, making it Israel's 3rd largest export market (after the US and the Netherlands). Some have pointed to the Turkey figures as a sign that, despite their ongoing dispute, relations are still ongoing. Well, it appears Turkey serves a very different purpose - as a way-station not just for Arab countries too embarrassed to admit they want to trade with Israel, but countries like Iran that Israel should not be dealing with. Despite the fact that the US provides "waivers" to many countries and firms that continue to trade with Iran, Israel should avoid getting on a list meriting sanction (as the Ofer brothers who were recently so listed).
2. Sewers
(05.31.11)
They needed the Israeli drawings for the sewer system which an Israeli company built in the 1970's to build a subway system in Tehran. One day G-d willing ELAL flights will once again land in Tehran.
3. Weapons
Aron Lippe ,   London, UK   (05.31.11)
Don't for get the arms sales, especially the spare parts and the maintainence training for US made aircraft and british tanks.
4. Do the Crime, Sometimes Do the Time
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSA   (05.31.11)
Its about getting caught. Stealing autos is a thriving business here (sold in Mexico) until caught. The underground US economy deprives US of 500b year in taxes (paid for by everyone else). US companies trade through shells regularly with Iran. US spies are in Israel, while Pollard languishes. Its a dirty game played by all. However you commit the crime, sometimes you do the time. Except in Calif, which is releasing thousands of prisoners prematurely.Advide to IsraelZ:investigate and prosecute..but not too stridently.Diamond sales are diamond sales, with India, etc.competingf for the dollar.
5. ahmi jacket
(05.31.11)
must be rolling in his grave by now. ahmi, you can't boycott the zionist state because it has tons of brains your country doesn't have and your people need the results of this jewish brain. now, be a good boy and go eat your pistacheos.
6. All those that trade with an enemy like
jason white ,   afula, israel   (05.31.11)
iran or the p.a. should be imprisoned and lose their companies and personal property.
7. #5, I don't think so
IRAN#1   (05.31.11)
Business is business, Iranians come from the stock of folks who ran the Silk Road fro centuries and invented Bazzars!!!!!! But rest assured that Iran will make sure that Arabs & Israelis will stay in a state of war for as long as possible because that is in their strategic interest.
8. Israel Iranian trade SHAMEFUL!
OnTheOtheSide ,   USA   (06.01.11)
If this is what Israel does it deserves whatever will happen to her. Why should anyone care if Iran will nuke Israel? why should we impose an embargo on Iran when Israel is trading with them? If this doesn't blow your mind what will?
9. #7
(06.01.11)
no sweat off the israeli backs....as long as most of the dead, if not all, are palestinians. you get what you ask for, buddy! iran loves risking palestinians' lives for their political what? gain? what are they gaining anyway except complete world isolation. your economy is in shambles. you're going down and in the party there are lots of conflicts for power. you're doomed. the revolution is coming no mater how you look at it.
10. This is RIDICULOUS!
Jewish Warrior   (06.01.11)
How is it that the United States has stricter sanctions on Iran than Israel? Make it abundantly clear to these traitors that they face prison for trade with the enemy.
11. # 8 "If this is what Israel does ...".
michael redbourn ,   arad, israel   (06.01.11)
There are seven million Israelis and let's say 100 are involved in trading with Iran. 100 is 0.001428 of 7 million. So it's hardly fair to say, "what Israel does". Is it?
12. #7 Persia's days of glory are long gone
Cynthia ,   USA   (06.01.11)
The Islamists are draining Iran and forcing the resourceful, intelligent Iranians to flee. Ahmadinejad and his gang of psychopaths make Iranians live like sheep and survive by being invisible. It's no wonder Iran remains import dependent and isolated. If the Islamic Regime invested in the Iranian people instead of funding global terror, perhaps Iran wouldn't be such a pit of doom.
13. Israel-Iran trade ties...
Persian CAT   (06.01.11)
have thrived before, are thriving now and will be thriving far in the future. Israel's trick is to go around and made doing business harder for the Germans, Austrians, Indians, and many others, while it does business with Iran behind the curtains. The world in on to you.
14. NO wonder ppl equate Jews = Money
kuhl_blitz ,   Doha/ Chennai   (06.01.11)
Come on People... Iran's gov't is bad. But, unless you stop trading with the country, the people shall take power in hand and shall overthrow the gov't. And there will be democratic gov't. But, don't be a stereotype of giving Money more important than principles
15. #14 - see post # 11
Jane ,   London UK   (06.01.11)
16. #13 Sanctions/boycott of Iran
Cynthia ,   USA   (06.01.11)
It's targeted to Iran's nuclear program as well as the funding of terror. It's not intended to prevent Iran from selling their pistachio nuts.
17. Israeli Trade With Iran
Edward ,   Savannah, USA   (06.01.11)
No country is totally self sufficient where it could survive without trading with anyone else. A classic example is that the U.S. and China are supposed to be "enemies" due to ideaological differences but the U.S. is terribly dependent on Chinese rare earth trade, without it, our modern U.S. life and military dominance would come to a screeching halt!!! Israel needs MONEY to opperate its' economy. There is only so many countries that will trade with it. As long as Israel is not giving Iran the secrets that would destroy Israel, I see no problem with this. Maybe a better option than to wage WAR on each other that would serve no purpose, maybe it would be more in Israel's best interest to make itself a more economical advatage to Iran than a threat. Money talks and B.S. walks and the Iranians know the value of a dollar just as well as the Jews do!!!
18. Business is Business
Iranian Ibn Sharmoot ,   Brooklyn NY   (06.01.11)
On the surface Israelis trading with Iran is a terrible contradiction in ethics. However, keep in mind that many Iranians hate Ahmidenajad's regime and long for freedom and democracy. The Iranians are people too; they need to eat, live, and carry out normal lives. The trade in Pistachios, Cashews, and Marble benefits the common folk, not that Ibn Sharmoot that runs the show. So, keep that in mind, and lets pray for a free Iran.
19. duplicity
MAB ,   Sarnia Canada   (06.01.11)
The world mostly knows very well that Israel says one thing and does another. Hello? Is anyone paying any attention to the past 40 years or so? The whole thing is a smokescreen for the truth - the governments of Israel and it's Arab neighbours - Iran included have no upside to making peace. They make too much money from the status quo and the military spending to ever want to resolve the conflict. It'll NEVER happen - I'm sure the Americans have also been trading with Iran through third parties. Don't believe a thing these governments say. It's all PR nonsense. They're all in it together...
20. Synthis, is that what...
Persian CAT   (06.02.11)
they have told you, and you blieve?Go for it girl. I'm cool with that.
21. Iran / Israel ties
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.02.11)
I think that ties between the countries should not be sent. Surely ties, shirts or any suits are already made in Israel so why do they need the ties from Iran. Its confusing....
22. Israel's Trade with Iran
Gene Graczyk ,   Santa Rosa, CA USA   (06.02.11)
what is wrong with this is the endless clamor from Israel for the US to launch a military attack on Iran because of the supposed threat they represent to Israel's existence. Not that such a threat would affect an opportunity to make a little extra money under the table, of course. In the US, we have Haliburton doing the same thing out of Dubai while Dick Cheney echoes Israel's demand for an attack on Iran. Fie on you both! Is it any wonder that you have so few friends left in the world? After Israel's ridiculous and self-serving snub of our President, Israel has lost even more support among average Americans. Tradiing with the enemy is just another reason to let Israel deal with its own problems at its own expense from hereon out. And, please, spare me the cry that you always have--even you don't believe that Israel's economic success would be very different without American aid and heavy donations from the Diaspora here.

If animosity can be put aside for the sake of mammon surely it can also be conquered for the sake of humanity.
