31. Some just don't have a choice
Yahoodi   (05.31.11)
What about the 50% of Israeli Jews who are Mizrahi? For them, Israel is the only home.
32. Whether you like it or not....
Atom   (05.31.11)
Israel is the preferred choice for all Jews!Have you ever wondered why so much hate and antisemitism exists the world over? You are 100% allowed to travel to the ends of the earth but you must realize that your ultimate and perfect home is Eretz Israel. What the leftists must do meanwhile is befriend the west while making their billions, which in turn must be re-invested in Israel so that there will be a logical explanation to their lukewarm heart towards their fellow brothers. Any Jew in a foreign land must make complete use of their stay until the fulfillment of their time comes!!!
33. DESPICABLE!
Ari Ben Canaan   (05.31.11)
Israelis wanting to become Germans? Any Jewish pride I had just got flushed right down the toilet. Shame on you guys, shame on you!
34. #10 -> German - US passports
Yaëlle Schlichting ,   Raubling, Germany   (05.31.11)
Well, Barabara, I have trouble understanding why an Israeli citizen wants to have a German passport, but I don't have trouble understanding, that sometimes they become a little disloyal towards there home country. Look at me. I am German! I would love to change my German passport for an Israeli passport. You may not understand my reasons, since there are Halakhic Jews living in Germany while I haven't really begun with my gijur. Over the time, things change and then you loose your heart. I have lost mine to Israel, when I was a child. Don't ask me why. And others have different reasons. Maybe deep in a back room of their mind they think about shelter, once the next war is ahead. We don't know and we must enforce soul-searching on their reasons. Israel is a free country! The only thing I want to say to Jews living in Israel and holding an Israeli passport: »Freedom and Democracy in Israel depends on you! If you leave, you put it at risk.«
35. These moochers r a disgrace to Israel/Jews
EZ ,   US   (05.31.11)
I know a few who moved there for the money: they lost their souls and purpose in life as soon as they entertained the idea. Not a single credible argument could release these moochers from their shame. It's disgusting. Sell-outs!
36. @11: questionable attitude
Lobo ,   France   (06.01.11)
I would never take money from someone who killed my family, but you do. Todays Germans know their responsibility very well and they will never forget, BUT kin liability doesn't exist, so Germans owe you nothing, and this comes from a French.
37. Israelis need visa to enter US
Mark ,   Tel Aviv   (06.01.11)
Stan, I think 50% of the youth would try to stay illegally in the US if they were not issued a visa on a case by case basis. Germany has a moral obligation to allow ALL Israelis to enter the country as tourists without a visa. Overstaying their 90 days or whatever it is, is another matter
38. Those who are entitled to German Passports
Mark ,   Tel Aviv   (06.01.11)
Let's stick to facts and leave emotions out of this. No Nazism, the German Jews would not have fled. Their descendants would all be Germans. This is the philosophy and policy of the German government. By the way, this is not just for Israelis with German/Jewish ancestors who fled!!! It is for anyone driven out of Germany between 1933-1945 for racial or political reasons (not only Jews) who were stripped of their German citizenship. I would also like to emphasize that those people and their descendants who emigrated by choice before a certain date in 1933 and took on another nationality, I am 99% sure that their descendants are not entitled to the German passport.
39. # 8 Good Joke!
shalom_y'all ,   Berlin, Germany   (06.02.11)
"Life quality in Israel today is high and improving whereas Germany and EU are in a steady decline which will show in the years to come." Life quality in Israel is relatively high if you look at your neighbours.. Life quality in Germany is MUCH better. I don't have to mention that (for example) in Israel - more than 1.5 million live under the poverty threshold (equals 20% of the population, compared to 13% in Germany) - child poverty in Israel has doubled since 1988 - education is better in Germany (for example free university education in 12 out of 16 states) - average income in Israel 630 Euros, in Germany 2700 Euros. - and so on.. No wonder descendants of Germans want the passport that they are rightfully entitled to. No wonder Berlin is the city where most Israelis go to to live there. Too bad those (predominantly) very open-minded and liberal Israelis leave Israel.. What's left in Israel votes for Liberman and Bibi.. Too bad for you.
