5. Tell Senator Kerry about Pasta
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (06.02.11)
State is entirely unconvincing. Senator Kerry complained about the lack of Pasta allowed in, was told it would be. And that was a lie for many months. Stuff sits and rots on the dock in Ashdod or is allowed in only after being nearly destroyed. The AMA (Rafah Agreement) Israel signed but which expired says 400 trucks a day will be allowed to deliver supplies. A good day has 150 according to the UN. And Egypt opened Rafah to people so many could seek medical care unavailable in Gaza among other reasons. The only grain processing plant in Gaza was destroyed in Cast Lead. And Israel will not allow parts in to let it be rebuilt. Vegetable produce from Gaza is not allowed out to the world's markets. Gilad Shalit was captured after the start of the siege and the siege will last until years after he returns home, if Israel's gov even deigns to make a prisoner exchange. Like the US, Turkey has a Constitution that limits its governments powers. Turks have freedom of travel, just like Americans and Brits and Europeans. State's statements are likely to influence nobody. Efficient mechanisms? - only in the world of make believe. Those traveling know their lives are at risk.
6.  Usa concern too teak,Turkey need the Real Thing..
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (06.02.11)
....Turkey is arrogant and needs to' be' told to' stop acting like this, or the democratic nations will have to put a stop in other means..USA and EU cannot be weak with Turkey arrogance

You're what's known as - a sandwich short of a picknic!
8. Will the US have ships to push back the flotilla's?
Bless Israel ,   United States   (06.02.11)
A real ally would. Obama's idiotic statements have brought this matter to a head and now, expect a soft rebuke will suffice. It wont, if the US is serious about stopping the flotilla's they should have several ships at the ready to repel and remove all ships trying to break this blockade. Obama's an idiot and makes this situation worse, put US ships there and watch Turkey crawl back under her rock.
9. WOULD TURKEY ALLOW ISRAELI SHIPS INTO HER PORT?
Bless Israel ,   United States   (06.02.11)
I DON'T THINK SO. EITHER SINK THE SHIPS OR, DISBLE THEM AND TOW THEM BACK TO TURKEY. EACH 'PASSENGER' SHOULD PAY AT LEAST $10,000.00 EACH OR BE JAILED UNTIL THEY DO. THE TURKISH GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE FINED $ 1,000.000.00 FOR EACH SHIP SAILING THROUGH THEIR PORTS.
10. tell TURKEY to FREE KURDISTAN

12. This is hugely unfair and unsustainable
Casual Tourist   (06.02.11)
Why must Gaza be made to exist purely on humanitarian aid, and not on the product of the work and trade of its people? The US and Israel want to keep Gaza dependent on handouts, and the Palestinians of Gaza want to break free from this dependence and be masters of their own destiny. Trade must be allowed to take place freely.
13. Don't worry about the Flotilla>

Flotilla is a provocation so are the settlements. one wonders where lies the truth.
15. #12, "Casual" is key word
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (06.02.11)
What can a tourist know of the situation? Israelis have hoped for decades for these Arabs to show initiative. They don't. If they were interested in making a living, why did they joyfully destroy all the state of the art hothouses left to them when Israelis exited Gaza? They prefer world handouts and sitting in their cafes, smoking their hookahs and bawling about all the orange groves they allegedly lost in 1948.
16. Anna EU & US shoudl be strong
Roberto ,   Milano   (06.02.11)
Yes, they should tell Israel to stop acting like that , Israel should withdraw from Palestinan Territories occupied in 1967 including East Jerusalem , and move all the Illegal settlements biult on Palestinain Soil and take all those freaks to Israeli controlled zone .Palestinians will not give up their Homeland . Turkey is not Arrogant , they are telling what Itraly & Eu should say .
17. The Turks always preferred the back passage
Andy   (06.02.11)
an ancient Turkish tradition...
18. #16, get your facts right!
Ted ,   UK   (06.02.11)
Israel fought a defensive war in 67 and the territories have been taken from Egypt and Jordan, NOT from any "palestinian authority".... The Big question is why the palestinian aspirations never came into play during almost 20 years of domination by Jordan and Egypt?? can you answer this?- I'll tell you why, because the whole Palestinian issue was a an excuse for the arabs to fight Israel. Today when it is convenient for them to ignore the past they present it suddenly asa Palestinian issue. You show me another example in the world where people are keeping what they call their own brothers, for decades in refugee camps and refuse to assimilate them. During those years Israel assimilated more than 800000 jewish refugees from Arab countries.
19. #16
Jorge ,   Israel/USA/Argentina   (06.02.11)
US and EU are strong. The arabs took 78% ofthe land and habitated. Now they want the 22% restant. Why do the want Israel having Jordan? Israel is not any arab land.
20. Flotila
Frank   (06.02.11)
There is no need to run the blockade now that Egypt has opened it's borders to Gaza and there are so many tunnels into Gaza. Not only that GAZA DOESN"T NEED AID!!!!!!! They are flurishing except for the funds that Hamas steals from the people who live there. Is flotilla is just to antaginize Israel.
21.  Flotilla
suter ,   tel aviv /israel   (06.02.11)

23. to no.12
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (06.02.11)
No, Gaza must not and they aren't...Only if you keep on using the same sources of information, you had enlightened us with on this post....Gaza of course is still ruled by the chamas terror organization ....But there is also a productive segment of population there now, who are building and producing....In gaza, they have now flourishing malls, homes, movie theatres, stores brimming with food, restaurants, etc...They need no assistance...Every humanitarian aid goes to support the terror againt Israel, while Israel is providing their water, electicity, medical needs, etc.....And now you know the scoop, "mr. casual tourist"...Why don't you check it out or take a virtual tour, before you make palis into victims...How pathetic can you get when you have no idea of what you are talking about....
24. cuckoo cuckoo
Herzelian ,   herzeliya   (06.02.11)
Or a banana short of a fruit salad
25. An act of hate not of help!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (06.02.11)
These flotillas are nothing but an expression of hate for Israel by antisemites, These despicable people don't give a hoot about the people in Gaza. They are using Gaza for their own ugly hate agenda. All nations should follow the Canada and US example and strongly warn against them.
26. no 9
LION OF JUDAH   (06.02.11)
Agreed, this way there will be a chance they wil be stopped. The owner of the ship to be fine at least ONE MILLION US DOLLARS for each ship. All the ships to be towed to Israeli port, and to be be charged daily rent, until fines & rent paid
27. John from cardiff
JUDAH THE LION   (06.02.11)
This is our land for thousands of years. Readd the bible & history.Settlements are not provocation
28. Roberto Milano.no 16
LION OF JUDAH   (06.02.11)
Hey Signor,Israel & Jerusalem is not occupied land but rather Liberated land. Your ancestors the Roman Empire have destroyed our holy place, and your ancestors who have renamed Israel to Palestine.Palestinains land is in Arabia, and for sure not Israel. The Eu are immoral and currupt and they knows very well to whom this land of Israel belong to. Read your bible. As VATICAN CITY will always be the holy place of CHRISTIAN,and MECCA/MEDINA is the holy place for Muslims,Jerusalemwill always be the capital and holy place for JEWS. Turkey is arrogant, and wants confrontation with Israel
29. facts
Charles Zeigler ,   Florence,Ky. U.S.A.   (06.02.11)
Ted, I concour with your facts, facts that I have tried to impress upon the public for a while. The Gaza and West Bank Arabs are nothing more than pawns being used by their Arab brethren to stir up international dissension against the Jewish people.
30. #14 john - FLUSHING away the TRUTH
CK Tan ,   Singapore, singapore   (06.02.11)
There were NO settlements PRIOR to the events of 1967. Yet, ALL the Arabs - including the palis that APPEARED in 1960s - sought to ERADICATE modern Israel since its founding in 1948. They waged but LOST battles and wars. But their GOAL has NEVER changed. It was NEVER about territories or settlements.
