31. Has Turkey gotten the message?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.02.11)
If not, then the Turkish government is beyond stupid. The United Nations, the European Union, the United States Congress and now the United States Department of State have made their positions plain. The message to Israel is quite clear: you can take off the kid gloves in thwarting the flotilla. This is going to end very badly for Turkey. Israel will stop the flotilla, and Turkey will be humiliated. There will be no recourse for Turkey in any of the international fora. Frankly, I am hoping that Israel makes this an extraordinarily painful lesson for Turkey. The Turkish government deserves nothing less.
32. #5 Mark ben Josuf - PROVE it !
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.02.11)
List down all the PROOFS for your claims. As SHOWN by your DEBUNKED "proof" that the palis made firm CONCESSIONS to Israel, PARROTING is one thing but providing IRREFUTABLE evidences is very different. And "just like Americans and Brits and Europeans", Israel has the RIGHTS to do everything necessary to PROTECT its people from terror attacks and harm, including ENFORCING the blockade.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.02.11)
When Israel withdrew from Gaza, a thriving greenhouse industry and hydroponic farms were left intact. These were blown up in order to build a terrorist training center. Gaza's leadership could easily have foresworn terrorism; that would have had the effect of generating billions of dollars and billions of euros in foreign investment capital, which would have created industry and jobs for the people of Gaza. But no; that did not happen, because the assorted terrorist groups in Gaza are really not interested in building an economy or becoming self-sustaining. Why waste good money on building a viable infrastructure or creating jobs when that money could be (and has been) spent on acquiring missiles to fire into Israel's civilian centers, or acquiring more plastique to build bigger and better suicide belts? Israel isn't doing anything to thwart Gaza's economy. They are doing it to themselves. The problem with the ersatz "Palestinians" has always been that they prefer to devote their energies to killing Jews rather than building a viable state. Israel has always focused its energies on building a viable state -- with the six wars and seven decades of Arab terror being annoying diversions that had to be dealt with; nothing more. That is why Israel is a thriving modern state. We haven't strayed very far from our Jewish mentality. The ersatz "Palestinians" haven't strayed very far from their mentality, either. That is why they will never have a state.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.02.11)
Well, I am sure that you will be pleased to learn that when Israel annexes non-sovereign Judea and Samaria, its Arab residents will be repatriated to Jordan, country of their citizenship. End of provocation.

Are you talking about Israeli-flagged vessels or vessels which are Israeli owned? Actually, in this instance, it doesn't matter. Israeli ships call at Turkish ports all the time.

Oh, please. I have seen with my own eyes massive grain shipments from the United States that are supposed to be freely distributed in Gaza. Do you know what happens to them? I will tell you. They are locked up in warehouses, because Hamas has absolutely no intention of giving away food if they can charge money for it. If they don't get the cash, the grain is allowed to rot. Is it any wonder that we get a little cynical when we hear people proclaim an "humanitarian crisis" in Gaza? By the way, Israel trucks in several hundred thousand metric tons of food and other goods to Gaza weekly. Get your facts straight. Frankly, I am hoping that Egypt will take over responsibility for the care and feeding of Gaza. All those services that Israel provides -- electricity, fresh water, medicine, food -- and for which Israel never gets credit has rankled for a long time. Let Egypt pick up the slack.
37. @ 8 you are a joke for
Sheik Rattle & Roll ,   USA   (06.02.11)
making such an idiotic statement. It is Israel's fight and the US Navy has no right to interfere in basically a domestic disturbance that would do more harm than good. Americans would instantly pay more money at the gas pump if the US Navy would get involved in a naval blockade in the Middle East. Most Americans support Israel and the military aid and UN diplomatic cover is more than enough help for Israel. They can handle there petty fights.
38. Just as Soon not See Flotillas
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (06.02.11)
I'd just as soon not see the flotillas. But I have read the documents motivating the people sailing. Egypt has not opened Rafah to goods. That leaves the Israeli crossings. And what I wrote are the reasons that the flotillas persist. If Gaza 's Rafah were turned into a full goods and people crossing, the flotillas would be diminished significantly. If Gaza also had access to its own offshore gas, the flotillas would likely disappear.
39. Don't worry about Flotillas
Lopeti100 ,   London (UK)   (06.02.11)
For every Flotila, There is A Godzilla. Yes, because,Ps 121 states,' My help comes from The Lord...and he that keeps Israel doesl not slumber!
