I take his closing (in this article) statement as heroic: "For the future, he says he want to see a secular, liberal democracy in Israel, one that respects both the human rights and the religious beliefs of its citizens." Reading this article, Silverstein does not come across as someone who 'loves Israel, wants it to prosper, does not wish to harm it'. Silverstein routinely deletes any pro-Israel commentary and only allows comments that are critical of Israel and pro-Hamas on his blog. It seems this reporter did not do his homework. You are painting this guy out to be a martyr, when in reality he is working against Israel 24/7.

Richard Silverstein writes some good stuff. But he is unfortunately prone to making sweeping, not-too-intelligent generalizations to further his cause. He has the potential to be a good journalist, but often gets in his own way and is undermined by his own agenda and often his own ego.

In typical Silverstein fashion, this fraud is the antithesis of a truth-teller.
