1. This is getting interesting...
Hakim ,   Palestine   (06.08.11)
2. 1967 "borders" is the LADDER that the palis DESPERATELY...
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.08.11)
...is looking for so that they can climb down from the "settlements are OBSTACLES to peace talks" LIE. The palis of course are eager to chant this new MANTRA while totally IGNORING the US call for them NOT to go ahead with the UN bid.
3. 1967 lines
Lippy ,   Very Proud Israeli   (06.08.11)
Don't the Palestinians under English? Maybe they should get an interpreter to read them all Obama's speeches in the past two weeks. Trying to lay down conditions for Israeli compliance doesn't go. Try to lay them down to pupils in Palestinian schools who may believe them.
4. IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (06.08.11)
This is what liars do! They Cherry Pick the parts they want, out of Speeches, Resolutions and twist them into a formidable lie. Why? Because the best lies, always, include some truth. It makes it hard to distinguish the lie from the truth. This is the specialty of Pallywood. Obama while making a dumb speech never said the 1967 lines would be any final status. But rather the 1967 lines would be used as basis, a starting point, that land swaps would have to take place. That Hamas was rejected as part of the government, that the Palestinians would have to recognize Israel's right to exist. Of these many components Abbas and Palestinians of course selectively pick and choose which parts they will honor and accept. The problem is losers of wars simply don't have that right. The winner sets the conditions, that's the way it's always been from the beginning of time. Who would change that, and why?
5. Demanded?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.08.11)
Oh, I don't think so.
6. Erakat pocket dream that will spark a major war
Brod ,   USA   (06.08.11)
Erakat thinks they have Obama in their pocket. And that Obama can get the AntiSemite world to buldoze Israel off the Map of the Middle East. If Obama allows himself to be in their pocket, Judeo-Christian America through Congress will impeach Obama in a hurry. All Erakat does is setting fire after fire in the dry bushes of AntiSemitism to advance their vicious Jihadism against Israel. Israel should reject Erakat and his thugs including their corrputed UN which they have pocketed. Meanwhile, Israel should prepare for a major war against any states and entities that are hellbent on its destruction. Erakat is playing the role of Hitler. To avert this war, Israel should capture Erakat and send him to the gallows.
7. Oh sure
Rachel ,   US   (06.08.11)
Netanyahu is definitely going to accept an ultimatum from that quack Saeb Erekat.
8. erekat vs. Netanyahu
Elizabeth   (06.08.11)
All BiBi needs to say to erekat and his Pali friends --- "go to hell"! No more giving away land to arabs!!!
9. Let them go to the U.N.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.08.11)
As usual, we are asked to give up something tangible (land) essential to our security in return for what? Basically nothing. And what's with the land swaps? There are no land swaps, that's total BS. This is a total scam. What is really happening is that the Palestinians have come to realize is that the UN bid for a state will come to nothing, has many pitfalls & may lead to unilateral moves by Israel that could cripple them. The US will veto the resolution in the Security Council - Obama's re-election campaign is more important than ''Palestine'' so Palestine gets thrown under the bus. American public opinion is overwhelmingly on our side, last poll shows 67% favour Israel and a miniscule 1% favour Palestine. Netanyahu must not compromise, polls in Israel also show overwhelming support for no return to 1967 armistice lines under any conditions.
10. Wait - in an hour, Hamas will nix this.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.08.11)
The senior partner in the new phoney unity scam will issue another statement that they won't under any circumstances accept anything Erakat said. They'll denounce Hillary & Obama as Zionists & Erakat as a traitor. Wait & see.
11. The only '67 border was creatd on 10 June 1967
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.08.11)
The Palestinians talk of the '67 border and they mean the '48 armistice line. The only border that was created in 1967 was on 10 June 1967 when the 6 day war ended. It is time to set the facts straight - the Palestinians don't care about '67 they want what the Arabs turned down in '48.
12. More theater from the Fake Pallis
J1 ,   Earth   (06.08.11)
More last gasps from a fake group of Arabs who want to kill the Israelites. Has anyone noticed their charters which calls for Israels end. Even if they got their state it would not end the conflict. So let's annex the liberated territory and send the fake pals back to Jordan.
13. 1967 borders
Sergio Kerbis ,   Marion, IA. USA   (06.08.11)
President Obama's speech never asked Israel to return to the June 4, 1967 borders. What he actually said was that the 1967 borders could be a basis for negotiations and mutually agreable land swaps. For some reason the Israeli media defines the story by the same standards as Fox News. Are they owned by Murdoch ?
14. Go to the UN you idiot or you will never see any lines
tea man ,   marjayoun   (06.08.11)
Man those palistinian never learn or they do not listen to Allah they lost PA either move on or move out
15. The best defense is ATTACK, ATTACK
Karl   (06.08.11)
Bibi, this merry go round should stop as it leads to nowhere. I suggest that you brake this impass. Just tell Erakat and Mazen to go to hell. Do it point blank, loud and clear in front of the cameras. This should bring an instant reaction and SHOCK not only from the arab world. Then you will know what to do. A couple days later, I also strongly suggest that you pick the smallest country (of no importance to us) to move their Embassy to Jerusalem or pack and leave our country. That should make front page the world over and leave our foe in total disarray. All you will have to do after this, is wait for the " coup de grace "
16. OK statehood - followed by war
DT ,   TA Israel   (06.08.11)
initiated by the "Peace loving PA" which you will lose and spend another half century moaning about in a land that neverb was yours anyway.
17. Palestinian People : 1967 lines or 1948 lines.
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.08.11)
I hope you will choose the second choice.
18. No.4 " Hats off "
Samuel ,   Yavne,Israel   (06.08.11)
Hats off to you Mark, you have spoken right to the point. Israel has only been giving - what have we received--just thousands of rockets in return.Just hatred has been taught in their students text books. Before the Six Day War why did the Palestinians not claim their so called land-including East Jerusalem which was under Jordanian rule.If at all they had the guts they all would be massacred like we see in Syria,Libya,Yemen & many other Arab nations.
19. obama is an idiot
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (06.08.11)
not my opinion, but a provable fact
20. Unbelievably simple for Netanyahu to answer
CC   (06.08.11)
Since Obama also used the "Jewish state" formulatation, the Israeli gov't MUST stick to this line as well. The ball is in the Pals' court then. All is fair.
21. #11 Eric. Tel Aviv & NY.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.08.11)
No, Eric, they want to go back to before 1948, erase 63 years of history during which The State of Israel exists. That's the whole idea behind Naqba Day & the phoney-baloney right of return. They cannot reconcile themselves to our existence which is why there is no point to negotiations, no point to concessions of any kind, and no point to even considering a Palestinian state.
22. Erekat resigned on February 13, 2011 !
michael redbourn ,   arad israel   (06.08.11)
February 13, 2011 - During a PLO meeting, chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat resigned his position and Abbas accepted the resignation. He reportedly resigned due to the fallout over more than 1,600 leaked internal memos detailing negotiating sessions with Israel, which indicated that Palestinian peace negotiators were willing to turn over nearly all of the Jewish neighborhoods in eastern Jerusalem and accept a shared authority of the Temple Mount. In one document, Erekat told U.S. officials that the Palestinians were giving Israel "the biggest Yerushalayim in history." The documents reportedly were stolen from Erekat's office.
23. Oh really?
dorothy ,   gilgil, kenya   (06.08.11)
Mr Pm sir, , areal soldier does his bragging after battle.
24. Like a broken record.
Gabe Yakmore ,   Canada   (06.08.11)
Squatters are hoping to get Israel to give in to their absurd demands if they repeat their nonsense often enough. Annexation is long overdue. It will be done by a leader who is able to lead.
25. UN Security Council Resolution, 242, don't mention the 1967
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.08.11)
lines - that is the 1949 armistice lines which the Arabs violated in 1967!! Instead, 242 calls for Israel to withdraw to "secure and recognized boundaries", to be determined by negotiations and not by dictates of either Obama or Erekat.
26. no problem Slaeb Erekat, we'll just move the '67 lines over
superjew ,   NYC AMERICA   (06.08.11)
no problem Slaeb Erekat, we'll just move the '67 lines over to here and to over there...a few minor and major adjustments, and the Pals get a state to put their uncontrolled birth rates, and their minions of refugees of their own making, plus all the other billions of demands, constant threats, endless nakbas, stupid hudnas, on going curses and hourly threats, ignorant hadjes, and all the horrors the arabs have been firing and shooting at, dumping on, attacking to and flinging on Jewish peoples. IF THE ARABS WERE SMARTER, MODERATED AND DID NOT DEMAND THE DESTRUCTION OF THE JEWISH STATE (and all Jewish people) THERE WOULD NOT BE A ME CRISIS. period, AND EVERYONE, YES EVERYONE KNOWS IT!
27. When Obama talked
Sam ,   New Zealand   (06.08.11)
shit happened.. That is the good thing about obama... he is the worst president in the entire USA presidential history...
28. Salma, my prayers are for the Palestine solution
Nour ,   One-State   (06.08.11)
The West Bank/Gaza solution disenfranchises 5,000,000 Palestinian refugees. Furthermore the West Bank territory covers about 6,000 square kilometers. That cannot sustainably absorb the returning refugees without severely compromising the natural environment. The last thing we want is a Manhattan in the middle of the Holy Land. It logically follows that the future is the Galilee and Naqab desert. These have huge areas which can easily be used to develop brand new cities like Rawabi, well planned and executed according to a long term refugee absorption program. They will need jobs, and lots of them. Don't count on the Israelis to implement the 2-state solution because greed has governed them ever since the words "Eretz Yisroel" were first uttered by that terrorist Ben Gurion. Therefore, our interests will be served. It's only a matter of time, and justice is on our side.
29. #17 they're free to choose, doesn't mean they'll get it.
(06.08.11)
30. To: No. 28
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.08.11)
1. There are no "Palestinian" refugees. People who leave voluntarily are displaced persons. They do not have the right to return. Ever. 2. West Bank? Don't worry about the West Bank. Israel is going to annex it, and send your asses back to Jordan, country of your citizenship. Of course, if you'd rather go to Gaza, that can be arranged. As salaam aleikum. 3. Galilee? Negev? You must be on drugs. Either that, or you need them. Badly. 4. Eretz Israel chai v'kayam, chica. Deal with it. From Jordan or Gaza.
