31. After so many attempts to wipe Israel off the face of...
Jehudah ,   Israel   (06.08.11)
...earth, wouldn't it be more appropriate to negotiate peace for peace, now, and not peace for tangible security assets Israel can't afford giving away...??!!
32. 67 lines
alexi   (06.08.11)
Un resolution calls for israel to withdraw from terrirtories, not all territories to a secure border ina peace arrangement. Israel is not returning to 67 lines regardless of obama's best friend kalidi's formulation. And gutless olmert and livni are not in power to drive more concessions. saeb can yell how much he wants on the table. he is full of merde as is pillay who is full of merde as she avoids naming syria , hezbollah, hamas and iran because she is scared. She only attacks israel. Goldstone has a lot to answer for.
33. #28 Nour , yesss, yesss, yesss
Salma ,   Palestine   (06.08.11)
that exactly the second choice ; )
34. Judea and Samaria belong to Israel. Period.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.08.11)
It's time to end the charade once and for all. The status quo is infinitely better than any "peace deal" Israel could ever sign with the P.A. Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel and are vital for Israel's survival. Instead of continuing this farce, Israel should serve the U.N., E.U., all world governments and media with incontrovertible proof that Judea and Samaria legally proof. We have the proof in abundance. Even Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242, admitted Judea and Samaria belong to Israel. No more games. Judea and Samaria belong to Israel. Period.
35. Erekat Lies!
emanon ,   USA   (06.08.11)
No matter what Israel does, the arabs will say it is not enough. If Israel agrees to '67 borders (giving up any more land is a huge mistake!), the arabs will then demand a state anyway. If the get their act together and found a state based on Gaza, land they already forced Israel to give up, they will then say they want a bigger state. Gaza was supposed to the end of the demand for land, Gaza was supposed to be the first step towards peace. Has anything changed since they got Gaza? NO!! The terror against Israeli civilians still continues and the terrostinians still demand more land. Why should Erekat's words mean anything?
36. to no.13
Jennie ,   Irael/US   (06.08.11)
Actually,Sergio, this is exactly what Obama stated in his speach..And judging by all we know about obama's personal history, his affiliations and actions, that contradict his words, promises and speaches most of the time, it is obvious he doesn't have Israel's best interest in mind...His politics are all about appeasements of the muslim world and offer Israel as a "sacrificial lamb," over and over again...And Bibi got it this time...He didn't join into the same old game... About Fox News: I suggest you check their rating...They are rated # 1 in US and North America. Fox News are the only reliable factual news reporting broadcasting enterprise. Who cares who owns Fox. And BTW, Murdoch is an Honarable and Decent Human Being, well known for his many charities and contributions....
37. No "withdrawal to the '67 lines". Let Erekat go and
Harry Wright ,   UK   (06.08.11)
look for a financier to underwrite this new state. Let him also find new suppliers for water and electricity. He is in no position to impose conditions on the US, Europe and Israel. This new state is failing before it even starts. There is only one condition for him. When he applies to the UN he must specify that nations can vote in favour of the new state only on condition that they make an irreversible commitment to finance it since it is in no position to finance itself as it will be a bankrupt state.
38. Aladdin's lamp is all rubbed off.
Georges   (06.08.11)
Salma, bad enough you're born a palestinian, but a fool. And you Nour, unfortunately you are a born idiot.
39. Statehood vs. Annexation
Edward ,   Savannah, USA   (06.08.11)
It seems to me that Israel ought to be using the "annexation" leverage against this "P.A. Statehood" bid!!! The fact that the majority of Lukid turned down the chance to annex ALL of the territory in dispute does not bode well for Israel. Makes one wondering what is really going on here. Israel could have avoided all of this nonsense had they incorporated all of the territories that they had acquired in war. After all, to the victor goes the spoils, except in Israel's case, they love to give it back, for some strange reason. Stop the show, annex Judea/Samaria, Golan Heights, and East Jerusalem, problem solved!!!
40. Stick your blackmail and demands...
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (06.08.11)
....where the sun does not shine, habibi erekat. Declare your state, with or without Useless Nation's approval. The UN is fast-tracking along the same road to hell that the LoN followed...qed, the UN will no longer exist in a few years, max. Knock yourselves out, you fools.
41. Erikat & Abbas decided years ago they would go the UN route
zionist forever ,     (06.08.11)
If the PA will get granted statehood if they go to the General Assembly which they intend to do anyway with or without talks which won't happen anyway. Long ago Erikat & Abbas decided they were going down the UN route because they didn't have to make compromises. Talks are for going through the motions of peace making but they won't do any deals and blame it on Israel. The problem is though the General Assembly can't order Israel to do anything. They grant statehood, Israel refuses to recognize it and refuses to leave the palestinian state there is not much anybody can do. The only way to force Israel to do anything is to take it to the Security Council where the US has a veto. Bibi is now the darling of the Republican controlled Congress and Obama is now officially in an election campaign so no matter how much he doesn't want to he can't afford not to use the veto. Its going to spoil all the muslim outreach work he has spent his entire presidency doing ( couldn't have happened to a nicer guy ) but the non muslim pro Israel Americans do. Abbas & Co should also be wary about going down the UN route because Israel can quite legally destroy their state simply by refusing them a transport corridor through Israel to connect the two halves of their state. Israel can also revoke the work permits of the thousands of palestinians who rely on Israel for jobs. Israel wouldn't be in violation of any UN resolutions if it chose to do that as an attempt to force Abbas to talk. The UN can't give the palestinians control of aquifers or order Israel to continue supplying them with electricity. There is also no way any Israeli government even one on the far left can just close the settlements and hand over the keys to Jerusalem just because the UN ordered it. If the palestinians go to the UN they will destroy their cause because after the independence day parties are over and they have to start running a real state they will realize that they needed to make concessions to Israel through negotiations. Now though it will be considered treachery for any palestinian leader to do any deal that involves doing deals, even land swaps will be considered treachery so there is no way they can negotiate a viable state.
42. #28 & 33
Shmuel ,   Anaheim, CA, USA   (06.08.11)
Hey guys, how about moving to your parallel universe and leave us normal people alone? You'll have a state in all of the universe, not just "Palestine". You can bring in all the "refugees" and live happily ever after. We, on the other hand, can go on with our lives. We'll supply you with all the medications that your psychiatrists prescribe. Deal?
43. Basis for Peace
ZS ,   USA   (06.09.11)
Peace can't be based on a border. Peace is a based on a desire to not be violent toward your neighbor, or the ability to stop your own people from being violent toward your neighbor. After that is established, borders can be discussed/negotiated.
44. palestinians
Mark ,   USA   (06.09.11)
Reading these TB's from Jaffa, palestine, Tel Aviv, palestine, etc., is more evidence that these "people" never wanted peace, and only the replacement of Israel with palestine. Israel needs to wake up and realize that they have been on a slippery slope ever since the beginning of Oslo. Who cares what the world thinks of the Jews? They only like us when we are being killed? It doesn't matter what Israel offer in terms of concessions. It will NEVER be enough, and will NEVER be accepted by the fakestinians! Who cares! MOVE ON!!!!!
45. In another article, Erekat is demanding settlement freeze
William ,   Israel   (06.09.11)
So which is it? Oh wait - he wants both. I believe Abbas demanded in another article Right of Return and Jerusalem as their capital as conditions for returning to talks. So after the "Palestinians" get all of their demands what is left to "negotiate" about? Ah yes - mode of death: a lynching by "Palestinians" or suicide. Hmm, tough choice. I choose the mystery prize behind door #3. Ah...a box full of whoop ass, to be opened ONLY in the company of "Palestinians" - Me likey!
46. #17 - you mean 1949 Armistice lines?
William ,   Israel   (06.09.11)
They're the same as 1967 lines, you dope. And according to the cease fire agreement you Arabs signed, these 1949 lines do NOT designate a border and do not limit the movement of those lines to include more land for Israel, the victor of that war. I'm ok with the 1967 (post- 6-day war) lines, but do you think Amman will have enough hotel rooms for you all?
47. #28 - tons of open land in Jordan
William ,   Israel   (06.09.11)
There, I just solved your crowding problem, and your identity problem in one pass. Good luck in Amman.
48. #28 - speaking of right of return
William ,   Israel   (06.09.11)
There are a substantial amount of Jews and their families who were ethnically cleansed from Hebron, Shehem, Jerusalem, Jericho, Beit El, etc. that would love to return. I believe they number quite a bit now. For your historical education (and just to gloat, I imagine) you're welcome to watch the YouTube video of some 92-year old racist Arab woman exalting the killing of Jews in Hebron and theft of their property, to the Syrian news media.
49. #55 Mik, quite true, he is an idiot
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.09.11)
however, he has it in his power to do a great deal of harm Libya, Egypt & Syria and the rest of the Middle East, wherever he stirred the pot, it boiled over, making one hell of a mess He really thinks that the's the Potentate that the whole world has been waiting for to rule them
50. #17 & 28. Imagine mythical Palestine anywhere you wish.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.09.11)
#17 and #28. Since Palestine is, and will always remain mythical, you are free to imagine it anywhere you like, It's borders are limited only by your imagination too. That's the beauty of a fictional state. However, you'd be better off buying Oz and Neverland real estate than Palestine real estate.
51. 1967 borders
Harold ,   USA   (06.09.11)
1967 borders is the name of the game. Every single head of state expressed their objection for the Israeli settlement plan and declared that "WHAT IS ISLRAEL IS DOING IS ILEGAL AND AGAINST INTERNATIONAL LAWS". I remember Mrs. Thatcher, the former PM of UK said "THEY HAVE TO LEAVE ALL OCCUPIED LANDS BECAUSE ITS NOT THEIRS" So 1967 borders is and will be the subject of any negotiation and if the Israelis say NO then it means they don't peace.
52. #33 - "Yesssss"
SRObserver ,   Dallas USA   (06.09.11)
I have heard of orgasmic hatred but never thought I would see it in print. Calm down, tomorrow Israel will still be here. Better find a man and then you won't have to find "satisfaction" in dreams of Israel's destruction.
53. statehood
jan ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.09.11)
let them declare their state within syria, egypt or saadi Arabia-let their brethren keep and tend them!
54.  PA: 1967 lines or statehood declaration
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (06.09.11)
What land swaps.... Israel won the wars that the Arabs started. Israel does not have enough current land to swap for what's their's legally. No country that has acquired land by winning a war they did not start ever returned the land back. Only Israel has done it once for Egypt and look what she got for it. Why is everybody afraid to tell the truth that the Arabs started all the wars, lost their land (which was originally Jordan) and the current Palestinian state is Jordan and only Jordan. The whole world including Israel needs to get real on history. Jordan occupied the WB from the 1948 war, nobody forced Jordan to return it back to Israel after 1948 enough of all this BS.
55. Next time they'l make another demand
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.10.11)
Again threatening to declare a State, they’re on the road to nowhere You can't give in to blackmailers; there is no end to being blackmailed Declare the State and be damned They still won't have a Port or Airfield, and Israel can close the roads to all Palestinian traffic At this very moment, they're complaining about rampant Unemployment These geniuses decided to boycott Israel, cutting themselves off from lucrative jobs in Israel, their having been replaced with non-problematic workers from Asia & Europe, losing their jobs & the opportunity to sell their wares in Israeli towns, not to mention the Israeli’s that don’t go the Arab villages to buy something or other, or to get their cars repaired What a bunch of ninnies
