Somewhere in my disorganized collection of books, I believe I have a "Cajun Kosher Cookbook". It would be a boon to Israel's cooking and to Jewish cooking in general to enjoy the food that is special to Louisiana, under kosher rules, to be sure. Also, an Israeli visiting Louisiana might like to take the tour of the MacIlhenny farm near New Iberia, where hot tabasco pepper sauce is made.

According to the spokesperson for Rosh Haayin, there is no such visit by chefs from the Big Easy. Nor was one ever planned. On the other hand, there is a jazz festival taking place June 2-3.
