1. Not Bashar, not the reformer
Rachel ,   US   (06.17.11)
This is such a joke. Everyone knew what the guy was about but they continued with the "reform" nonsense in the hope he might be a "peacemaker" some day. Give me a break.
2. Who...
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (06.17.11)
....is responsible for sweeping this report under the rug, and for the thousands upon thousands of deaths and the various wars since the report was released in 2005? So much death and suffering could have been averted....but for nefarious reasons, it appears the UN and int'l community decided to allow the butcher Assad and his minions hezbollah to continue their reign of evil. Heads must roll. The UN must be dissolved.
3. This is clearly bad news for
john   (06.17.11)
Iran and Hesbullah. What Lebanon and the UN can do about it? Interesting !!!
4. Poor Assad, just can't catch a break, huh?
William ,   Israel   (06.17.11)
Oh boy - the "meat" in that Shiite sandwich made of Hizbullah and Iran is just taking a beating, isn't he? Assad and Hizbullah both implicated for the death of a standing Prime Minister seeks to truly disrupt their plans for Shiite domination.
5. Another indictment to come
Ken ,   Australia   (06.17.11)
This assads time for a free trip to the hague has come. He personally issued the hit , on a president, how can this jerk-off get away with this. This alawite dynasty will crumble to the ground, now we really know why he wanted nuclear weapons, to stop his descent, well bad luck for him.I think some one needs to capture him like saddam was captured and make the guy face trial, western style in the hague.
6. Does this exonerate hezbollah?
Ron ,   OC, US   (06.17.11)
I bet Syria ordered it and hezbollah did it.
7. hhhhhhhh...
(06.17.11)
Joke of the century.... First it was Al Qaeda, then it was Syria, then it was Hezbollah and now its back to Syria... Melhis, you are a joke...
8. Curious it took years
Carl ,   USA   (06.17.11)
when the UN and their cohors around the world can accuse, try and convict Israel within hours of an incident. It then takes years to prove those allegations false.
9. i'm as surprised as being told the pope is catholic
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (06.17.11)
it's nice to see the obvious truth being spoken, though.
10. Assad's regime will fall? He now has Lebanon in his pocket.
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (06.17.11)
On Monday, Lebanon PM Najib Mikati (ally of Assad) announced a new cabinet dominated by Hizbollah. In January, Hariri's son Saad who was the PM refused to denounce the tribunal or cut off Lebanon's share of the funding for it. In protest, Hizbollah walked out of the government, collapsing it. They found enough support in the Parliament to put in their own PM - Mikati. Five months later, Hizbollah and pro-Syrian allies now have 18 of 30 seats. In addition, Lebanon now has its first pro-Syrian defense minister who will exert influence over the Lebanese army, and Hizbollah now has control of the country's telecommunications.
11. #6 ron I'll Bet iran Ordered The Hit
Wondering   (06.17.11)
hizbullah and syrian hitmen KILLED Saad's Baba, So When Will the STL be RELEASED? Just Wondering
12. Syria has been from its very inception
How long will the ,   world be   (06.17.11)
a gruesome joke, with a primitive-minded tribal leadership headed towards lethal solutions both against their internal and external opponents. Syria has waged 4 bloody wars against Israel and lost all of them. Syria lost the Golan Heights which from the very beginning has never been originally Syrian. Now, Syria has not only been whining over spilt milk, but Assad is pushing his Palestinian slaves into Israel by attempting to jump or break through the international border fense. Most certainly, Syria, or rather, the corrupt Alawite dictatorship, ordered the assassination of a standing Lebanese premier which in itself is reason for war against Syria. The problem is it was carried out by the Hizballah henchmen who are a pest and cancer today in Lebanon. To make matters even worse, Assad allows himself the luxury to murder simple Syrian citizens (more than 1500 so far) just because they get out into the streets of his towns to protest and shout No more ! And the world, the democracies, are keeping silent and going about their daily business. No need for further comment !
13. Next the UN will somehow blame Israel.
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (06.17.11)
Syria's regime et al have the UN at their beck and call. SICK UN!!
14. Why now?
moriah ,   sacramento usa   (06.18.11)
If he wasn't slaughtering his own people like the mad man he is - this would still be secret. This says a lot about the people we call world leaders --evil and completely corrupt!!
15. And now he is threatening the son...
William ,   Gotham City, Lebanon   (06.18.11)
... Just a couple of days ago, French and saudi intelligence services told Saad Hariri to stay in "exile" in Paris because an assassination attempt was made on his life and it will be in danger if he returns to Beirut... Of course Ali Baba Nasrallah and his henchmen will execute the Syrian "liquidation" orders as they did twenty times at least before... No one will clean this cesspool called Lebanon except the noble Hebes in Israel... They are always doing the dirty work which the Western world and the UN won't do... This ain't Libya and ho oil wells here... I just wish and hope that the "third" Lebanon war will be the final clean up and hopefully the West will just shut the hell up and stay out of it along with Mr Moon and the US... They should either shit or get off the pot and let the pros go to work like they did with "the flotilla"...
16. TRY HIM AT THE HAGUE FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY
Bless israel. ,   United States   (06.18.11)
AND PUBLICLY CONDEMN THIS AT THE UN IF THEY CAN STOP ATTACKING ISRAEL FOR A MOMENT AND BECOME CONCERNED WITH THE DEATHS DUE TO ASSADS INSANITY, JUST LIKE HIS FATHER. Or, aren't these people blood worth a comment in between all the false accusations of Israel?
17. So what is the UNHCR going to do about this!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.18.11)
Bash Israel, of course!
18. The first time I set foot on
18. June 2011   (06.18.11)
Lebanese soil some 20 years ago, that was the first thing I heard when chatting that first evening. The discussion was the Hariri murder and also that Syria were the killers. There is no question about who the killers are. The world knows what the Syrians are and what they are capable of.
