1. Here's your alternative Abbas
Mike ,   TA   (06.21.11)
recognize Israel as Jewish, stop the hate education in your schools and media, stop revising history, and then start buying propery in Jordan before the prices go up...Jordan is Palestine.
2. Europe
Jerome ,   NZ   (06.21.11)
If any European reads this: We speak with an accent but we do not think with an accent! We know the European thinking is: let the arabs finish the job that the europeans were incapable to achieve; that is the final solution Why the hell do they want to stick another hostile entity in the middle east? Not enough miles already for arabs?
3. This shows how warped Israeli thinking has become
Jon ,   Baltimore US   (06.21.11)
For them to think that gaining the support of 30/195 countries somehow constitutes any kind of majority lets the world know how low they set their sights. They do not even have to try any more to get along with others because they know everyone hates them. This is the current mindset in Israel. They seem to relish the role of eternal victim. Stop gnashing your teeth and tearing your clothing while complaining about the last real or imagined insult to Israel. Find a way to settle this issue without the continued subjugation of these people to your dictates. They must acheive a real independence just as you did.
4. Mamzer Abbas strikes Again
Hinda ,   SF Bay Area   (06.21.11)
Wishy Washy. I have a solution. Deport you and your followers to your proper region - Arabia. You have at least eight countries to choose from; with the language; customs and culture that you thrive for. That way you will be able to live as Arabs - thrive as Arabs and kill each other as Arabs. Such a deal!
5. Here's an option for you, abu.
Chatich   (06.21.11)
It's east of the Jordan river.
6. Bibi. DON'T let Abbas climb down the tree.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.21.11)
Abbas has climbed high up a tree with his threat to declare fictional statehood again. Let him twist in the wind. Bibi, DON'T let Abbas climb down the tree. Let Abbas and "Palestinians" have another huge humiliating fiasco. Let them declare fictional statehood again and let's make sure it blows sky high. Than, Palestine will become a punch line for late night TV.
7. I havea GREAT plan
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.21.11)
go home to Jordan
8. In orther words - GIVE US A LADDER to climb down, DAMN it!
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.21.11)
9. New plan: Stop teaching hatred, stop lying, get real.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.21.11)
10. Stealing Jewish Land - is crime!
Jew Israel ,   Jerusalem, Judea   (06.21.11)
There is NO "palistine"!
11. The only reason border and security issues are deadlocked...
Jewish Warrior   (06.21.11)
Is because Abbas keeps screaming "1967 borders" and the like.
12. Just ignore him.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.21.11)
Go talk to your Hamas friends, go to the UN, or better yet, go to hell. The Palestinian UN bid has turned into a fiasco, we called their bluff, they misjudged the whole situation, & now they don't know what to do. Nothing could be better for Israel than to nullify the Oslo Accords. The Palestinians have bitten off more than they can chew & now they're choking on it.
13. Very simple solution for true peace
Roscio ,   Rome, Italy   (06.21.11)
The ORIGINAL 2-state solution, already approved over 60 years ago by the UN - Israel gets Israel, with the natural border being the Jordan River, and the Arabs get Palestine, which they later re-named Jordan. Instead of $ wasted forever on refugee camps, one-time cost of repatriation and absorption into the new Palestine (ex-Jordan) and then dissolution of the self-serving UNRWA for good. Let's look at 2 common-sense formulas: 1) Arabs in West Bank/Yesha = ceaseless terrorism and conflict; 2) Jews in Yesha and Arabs in Jordan/Palestine = PEACE.
14. It won't change anything.
Sandra ,   NYC   (06.21.11)
What he wants in exchange for talks is worse than what he may be able to get at the UN. Also, Abbas' demands for a final deal are so ridiculous now that a peace deal is totally out of the question. He should go to the UN. Israel will ride out the storm. There's no way to make a peace deal with these people. Fatah and Hamas still can't even make a real deal with each other.
15. #3 Jon - PROVE it !
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (06.21.11)
Since you IMPLY that your THINKNG is clear and LUCID, then it should be EASY for you to list down ALL the concrete STEPS the palis have PUBLICLY taken over the years to achieve peace with Israel.
16. @#3: Independence from whom? Hamas is tied to Iran by their
umbilical cord   (06.21.11)
17. Abbas: we have to
observer ,   Egypt   (06.21.11)
'But if US has another option, we won't go to UN,' means that the US wouldn't offer alternative and is not expected to. That's negotiations deadlocked . He has not mentioned anything about not going to the UN. in your dreams!
18. what a snake....
george   (06.21.11)
19. Actually deadlocked
Danny   (06.21.11)
because fundamentally the Palestinian side cannot accept proper peace with Israel.
20. Partition Imminent
Lynx ,   Palestine   (06.21.11)
21. Rather than accept Israel's right to exist
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.21.11)
Rather than accept Israel's right to exist Abbas asks Obama for ladder down from the tree he has climbed.
22. Abbas - true to form
Ehoop ,   UK   (06.21.11)
Here's Abbas, yet again, refusing to negotiate and looking to the USA to impose a solution on Israel. And, if not them, the UN. If he's unable to negotiate, he's unable to compromise. And, if he's unable to compromise, then he's not interested in peace, only in the destruction of Israel.
23. I will give you one option and one option
Eric.... ,   Israel.........   (06.21.11)
only pal.Make peace there is no other way.Stop taking your peoples money and putting it in Swiss banks, your people are suffering.
24. PROVES NOTHING
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (06.21.11)
Abbas refuses ti sit down and talk then blames Israel for the failure of the talks, what? Abbas states "show us options", you guys want a state, the onus is on you, not Israel? When Hamas became part of your new "unity" government what did they say? Hamas wanted to reverse the recognition of Israel, refused to negotiate with Israel, refused to stop terrorism and violence against Israel. Now you want "options"? For what? Abbas thinks blackmail is a new PR option. The USA will veto any Resolution for a state, which legally speaking, ends the whole issue. So the Palestinians think, we still can vilify Israel with a majority vote that carries no legal weight. But all that really proves is how bias the UN is, we know 57 of the 192 member countries are Muslim nations. So for those fools that think it gives some moral point to the Palestinians, your wrong. It simply is a false moral point, it proves that the UN never has been a fair arbiter when it comes to Israel. Getting a majority vote doesn't make it right or moral. After all slavery was popular once in the world, right? Don't confuse mob rule with fairness, that's the path of ignorance. Those who believe a popular vote is fairness are the biggest fools of all.
25. Alternative? Palestinians choosing war over peace.
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.21.11)
The Palestinians refuse to negotiate, and make excuses as to why they can't (settlement construction). At the same time, of course, they continue their armed attacks against Israeli civilians. Out of their inherent weakness, the Pals chanced on the world-wide weakness called the United Nations. Yes, the UN where democracies are forced to sit with Arab and other dictators in "equality". Because the UN has minimal standards for membership and accepts any brutal dictator or military junta, the Pals can easily get a majority of countries that despise civilized and developed countries, and they'll get their vote. Then what? War, most likely. The Palestinians will again shoot themselves in the foot and be happy to produce even more martyrs in their quest to eliminate Israel.
26. # 3 Jon, The pals haven't won a war
BUILDING ISRAEL ,   United States   (06.21.11)
the Israeli's have won them all. As you must know, David ben Gurion declared Israel a nation AFTER she won the war against combined arab nations, which was then copied by the UN, in 194. When the pals win a war, come back to US. Meanwhile the pals can't make peace with themselves and the arab world is up in arms, ( no weapons, just bare arms ) caught up in their arab spring, which is, in short, revolutions against their 'Leaders', arab brothers, not Israel. Democracy and freedom are colliding with both the pals and the arabs. Sit back, enjoy the show knowing Israel will always win and you will always lose. "To the victor belong the spoils " Your side is the vanquished, Israel, the victors.
27. # 6 Chaim, no need for Bibi
BUILDING ISRAEL ,   United States   (06.21.11)
the pals are making asses of themselves, universally.
28. So, GO- don't let the door hit U where the sun don't shine
Isaac   (06.21.11)
The entire point of the Oslo Accords was to be land for peace - instead Israel has this little creep manipulating and causing grief. So, let him go to the UN - with his unilateral move, it will free Israel from an agreement that she shouldn't have made in the first place.
29. ...Everyone hates them. Jon No 3
Alf Red ,   Londonistan   (06.21.11)
Your post shows rather how warped is your mentality, the so familiar mentality of rabid antisemite. Why wouldn't you try to find, for a change, a solution to the problem of subjugated Kurds, for instance? Or problem of Christian Arabs in Egypt. Or... I could give you an endless number of problems which you could use your gnashing teeth to solve. But no, oh no! The bloody Jews just wouldn't die to make your day!
30. #20 Lynx - Forget about it
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.21.11)
Arabs killed the partition way back in 1948, when they refused to accept it, preferring to attack Israel instead Your caption read "Partition imminent end" you better accept that, because that's the way it's going to be
