31. Abbas
A ,   Belgium   (06.23.11)
If this guy didn't have a history of terror and murder, and if he would stop pretending to be "president" of a non- existant "state", he MIGHT make a pretty good stand up comedian. On the other hand, with his record he'd probably flop at that too.
32. #30. Abbas is a powerless scarecrow. Let's call his bluff..
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.23.11)
#30. Abbas' threat to declare fictional statehood is a bluff. The bottom line is no Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria, or anywhere else in Israel, is possible unless Israel allows it. No number of anti-Israel U.N. Resolutions or flag raisings will change this. "Palestinians" had a far better change to make a state in 1988, the first time they declared fictional statehood. There were less than 300,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria than. Today, there are 700,000. Call Abbas' fictional statehood bluff. Abbas is a powerless scarecrow and Israel has no reason to be afraid of him. Let's call his bluff.
33. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE????
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (06.23.11)
"But with both of those efforts now in trouble, the official said the Palestinians are willing to tolerate limited settlement construction if Israel accepts a recent peace plan floated by President Barack Obama." So the PA won't insist on a total freeze on settlement building but they'll insist on Israel's acceptance of the Obama 'Peace' plan before negotiating. What it amounts to is replacing a failed precondition with a new precondition.Do they really think that were all that stupid? THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
34. #27. Canadian naivity
A ,   Belgium   (06.23.11)
You are absolutely right, Charles. "Palestinians" have their rights, and since Israel won't give them their rights, why not demonstrate what a democratic, free and liberal republic Canada is and let them have their rights there. See what a tremendous contribution they will make to Canadian society. I'm sure unemployment will drop drasticly since every able bodied unemployed Canadian will be needed on the police force. You are already getting an 8-story mosque in Toronto, why not 20 or so more? What an impressive skyline that would give Toronto, like contemptuosly raised middle fingers in the face of Canada, home of the square wheel (saw that on South Park).. Than lets see who is the facist...éh.
35. Is not the way!!!
Lengualima ,   I   (06.23.11)
Bad sign. If we live in a democracy is not the way to prove it. The left, center, right, religious or atheist, have the same right. Violence against those who think differently is not the path.

How many native Americans have you displaced in Canada? Until you are willing to address this problem then you shouldn't be pointing a finger at Israel.

Wrong. Read some history) even though it will spoil your fantasy). Most arabs left at the behest of the arab armies, to make it easier for them to 'throw the Jews into the sea." They were kept "in squalor in tents and shacks" by their fellow arabs. (Note that no Jews, refugees from arab countries, are living in shacks in Israel). The "Pals" "rights" were not "stolen, bought, traded, won, occupied, whatever term you want to use" but forfeited through attacks, terrorism, etc. Yes, they are members of humanity. But they have proven that the 'kind of members of humanity' they are are not the kind one welcomes into ones house.

What country would accept those who don't accept the existence of the country and who have tried to destroy it for 63 years?
39. #11 muayyad
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.24.11)
The Jews arrived around 2000 BC. The arabs arrived in the early 600's AD. C'est la vie et l'histoire - mon ami.
40. No Way!
Mike ,   USA   (06.24.11)
Obama won't allow it!!!!!
41. Naive? No, #27 just plain ignoramous.
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.24.11)
Awwww... Chuck in Toronto says the Pallies were "displaced". Gosh, Charles, we Jews were also "displaced". Yea, go ahead and ask it out loud "Tell us, Brian, where were the Jews displaced from? You mean you were refugees?" And Charlie boy, guess what the answer is ....c'mon, you know it, so you can say it out loud: "Brian, you mean you're telling us that the Jews were displaced from Israel?!?" Yea, Chuckie. Isn't that a coincidence that you're telling the Palestinians that the clock is ticking on their statute of limitations? How long before their time runs out and they aren't "displaced"? How long before you turn them into stateless Jews? Will we have to wait 2000 years? Ya think?!? And while we're on the subject of you being ignorant, do tell us where those tent camps are, will ya? Can't seem to find them even on my UNRWA map!
42. #23 STOP WITH THE DARING CRAP!
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.24.11)
How about the USA giving full citizenship to the approximately 30 million aliens that have invaded your borders ? While you’re at it, after they’ve become citizens, turn over your home to them Better yet, return the country to the native American’s from whom the white man swiped it from in the first place And while you're at it, return New Mexico, Arizona, California & Texas to Mexico, are you Democratic enough ? If you want to be generous, start with your own possession’s first to set the example, show just how Democratic you are! Let's make a deal, since the Arabs say that Palestine belongs to them, how about showing me where Palestine or Jerusalem, if it's so important to them, is mentioned at least one in the Koran & while you’re at it, name three of the ancient leaders or rulers Let's see if you dare to come up with answers to my easy questions
43. Irony
Beaglebark ,   United States   (06.24.11)
There is no such thing as "Native Americans". Look at any map there is no country named Native America. No borders stating that this was theirs. No currency of Native America. "Native Americans" are Asians. America is just a name some German map maker gave to destroy Canada and the US.
44. To Sarah b on #5
Bob ,   Ny   (06.24.11)
Sarah and many other like her posting. This is not the way we should be talking to Palestinians. You are only making things worse. "we will kick you assess?" it is getting out of hand. The truth is Abbas has many people to answer to and the fact that he is willing to not go to UN and commit to a partial settlement freeze is courageous enough. Everyday that passes by millions of Palestinains are under occupation by Jews and that's a fact we can't escape. The longer this continues the worse for Israel. And that fact alone is what I see as the end to Israel. We must have 2 states ASAP so that we can have the international community on our side again. Grow up- we are better then this. Dint let haters turn you hateful.
45. To #8 Re Land Improvements
John ,   Alaska   (06.24.11)
When the Jews were evicted by their own government from Gaza, they left behind greenhouses for the Palestinians. According to an AP report from 9/13/2005 AP, Palestinian looters destroyed them. If the people of Israel are foolish enough to give more of the Promised Land to their enemies, the same would happen. The land would revert back to uninhabited desert. It is for the sake of Am Yisrael that HaShem made the desert to bloom, and without the Jews, there would be no more garden. From the Gaza example, it is likely that the "Palestinian" Arabs would tear down the improvements themselves, not knowing, or maybe not caring, that HaShem is letting them be the means of their own judgement. Fortunately for all involved, the Jews are not foolish enough to give the Promised Land to the enemies thereof. To Am Yisrael I say: BUILD, BUILD, BUILD!
46. #27. Just to put you straight - the pals don't live in tents
Harry Wright ,   UK   (06.24.11)
and shacks, not in W Bank, not in Gaza, not in Lebanon, not in Syria nor Jordan. Get it? Those "refugee camps" are concrete blockhouses and urban ghettos indistinguishable from their surroundings. The UN has lavishly gifted them with their own corrupt branch of the UN, UNWRA, which is exclusively responsible for looking after their needs, which it has done for the past 63 years or so. Those Arabs refuse to keep their surroundings orderly, clean and tidy. Just imagine the filth if they were to relocate to Canada. The other Arab countries never wanted them and could not care less about them. They are predisposed to violence. In '07, the Lebanese Army shelled Nahr al-Bared refugee camp to rid it of Fatah al-Islam militant fighters. I suggest that you get the facts straight before you end up posting more nonsense.
47. #27 CHARLES- IT WAS ARAB VIOLENCE
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (06.24.11)
That caused the displacement and the fact your leaders lied to you, promising that if you left to make room for the invading Arab armies, that you would return to looted Jewish Land & properties http://www.standwithus.com/pdfs/flyers/biglies06.pdf Since you asked, they can live in Jordan, which is 75% of the land allocated for the Jewish Homeland, which the Brits swiped and gave to Emir Abdullah of Arabia, as a payoff for his services to them in World War One, it's in the history books, read one I have yet to hear a Jewish leader call for death to the Arabs, though many Arab leaders have repeatedly called for "Death to the Jews"

solomon ,   bklyn   (06.24.11)
"millions of Palestinains are under occupation by Jews and that's a fact we can't escape" Another person who reports their opinion as "fact". But it isn't true no matter how much you close your eyes. The WB and Gaza have their own governments. Israel has no control over the interior of either. The WB borders Jordan, Gaza borders Egypt. This is "occupation" by your self-made definition only.
