31. #22, deafer, dumber, and blinder
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (06.28.11)
Good question, Robert. Perhaps if you spent a few minutes actually reading about the people in the flotilla and what they're actually carrying and not carrying to Gaza you might understand the answer to your own questions? You probably won't bother so I'll make it easy for you -- there's no aid on those ships, they're on the record as saying they're doing it to break the blockade. Aid can be freely delivered to both Israel and Egypt for transfer into the GS.
32. Confiscate
Oleg ,   USA   (06.28.11)
This has to be done: confiscate ships and goods and sell on the open market or make Auction and use proceeds for IDF needs.
33. Harper?
Boxer ,   USA   (06.28.11)
#6. Who is Harper? If you are referring to the Canadian PM, you should know that he has a majority in Parliament but not a popular majority. So, what he says is not what Canadians say; it is just what the Conservative aprty says.
34. 300? Whiout journalists it would've been 150.
leo ,   usa   (06.28.11)
35. Activists
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (06.28.11)
So, the activists publically said they aren't looking for any confrontation with IDF. When will the IDF say the same? People against it claim they are doing this just to cause trouble. The IDF is causing trouble. The blockade is causing trouble. The false accusations against these activists is causing trouble. The activists are only causing trouble if you want them too.
36. Boats
Michael Pielet ,   boca   (06.28.11)
Sink all of the boats.
37. #22 - none are so blind than those who refuse to see
William ,   Israel   (06.28.11)
So what exactly IS Israel doing, Robert? According the ICRC, BBC, CNN, UN, and a Sudanese Minister - there is NO Humanitarian crisis. Pretty evident when they have enough money and materials to build TWO malls and fill them with goods. The real problem in Gaza is Hamas' oppression of Gazans, the mis-use of public funds to wage a unilateral war while ignoring local infrastructure, and Israel has no obligation to continue employment of Gazans in light of this. So tell me Robert - if delivering aid is so important in this case, 1) why are they ignoring the UN's own declaration that it be delivered to El-Arish or Ashdod through proper channels that the UN itself uses....and 2) why did the flotilla organizers declare they have no real aid to deliver because this trip is not about delivering aid?? Nevermind that the last flotilla brought items that were plentiful in Gaza and expired drugs. "There are none so blind as those who refuse to see"
38. Flotilla vessel Tahrir
John ,   Alaska   (06.28.11)
The Free Online Dictionary says this about Tahrir: (redirected from Tahrir) "Noun 1. Hizb ut-Tahrir - the most popular and feared Islamic extremist group in central Asia; advocates `pure' Islam and the creation of a worldwide Islamic state" So ... yea. Israel CAN say that this flotilla is what it is: an Islamic act of aggression.

this would be pure theft. i want to see you if a thief steals something of you. would you like that? i do not think so.
41. Juliano Mer
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.28.11)
Juliano Mer was killed by militants/terrorists in the WB. Why name a ship after him...unless they want to associate, and blame, Israel by not mentioning the 'details' of his death. Yes, the devil is certainly in the details.
42. #38 John from Alask. Tahrir as in Tahrir Square.
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (06.28.11)
Dear John, you omitted to say what the word "tahrir" meant. It is arabic for "liberation" and it obviously points to liberation from Israel's occupation and siege of Gaza. Israel subjects the civilian population of Gaza to a cruel collective punishment, It keeps Gaza on the brink of economic and social collaplse. The denial by Israel that there is a humanitarian crisis sits uneasily with the collective punishment it is inflicting. Dov Weisglas, former advisor to prime minister Sharon, currently in PVS, described it in these cynical terms: "It's like an appointment with a dietician. The Palestinians will get a lot thinner, but won't die." It is liberation from this kind of cruelty that the Palestinians need. That is why the Canadian ship is called "Tahrir".

45. Morons from Norway
Beary White ,   Norway   (06.28.11)
I am very sorry for the idiots from Norway joining this flotilla. They sure have escaped from some kind of hospitals, even if most of them are leftist politician from the ruling Labour Party and Socialist Party. Sorry, put a peace rose up into their butts, it will be sticky and hard to remove.
46. "If Israel knows of violence or weapons, they should tell us
William ,   Israel   (06.28.11)
Really? Why should Israel help you police your own people while you try to run a legal war-time blockade with no real humanitarian purpose?? The captain of the Mavi Marmara admitted he knew of the weapons on board and the planned violence, but was told to shut up when he disagreed with it on his ship. If you can muster 300 people to come together in a foreign port, raise millions of dollars and purchase boats and supplies, give numerous interviews - you can surely ensure no one on board is violent or carrying weapons. Which will make the takeover by the IDF, and your arrest and extended detention, nice and easy.
47. FEILER
Roy ,   USA   (06.29.11)
More than anything else, Mr Feiler is a terribly unhappy ,conficted ,and desperate human being who cannot escape his own demons. The fact that he would invest so much energy into such a petty ,played-out, farcical ploy tells you that he is coming from a very pathetic place in his sad life.

The Free Online Dictionary says about "Tahrir": "(redirected from Tahrir) "Noun 1. Hizb ut-Tahrir" That is an indication of the most frequent usage of the term in searches. Kind of like "jihad"; some people - you I'm sure - claim that it's use in Islam is "struggle", when 98% of its usage in the Koran concerns warfare. If the Koran were searchable, the equivalent search would be something like this: "Jihad as killing and enslaving your neighbors" (redirected from "Jihad as struggle") Now that that has been resolved, onto your false claim of the "humanitarian" flotilla. The Red Cross went to Gaza and reported that there was no humanitarian crisis there. Since Israel unilaterally pulled out of Gaza, they were not able to affect the Red Cross determination. The Flotilla organizers said that because the crossing to Egypt now open, the flotilla has NO HUMANITARIAN PURPOSE. According to these same Flotilla organizers, the stated goal is to confront Israel. It is deliberate, aggressive provocation. Your taqqiya is very flimsy when compared to hard facts.
50. #35 lebanon...?
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.29.11)
The "activists" want to break a legal blockade. The blockade is a direct result of Hamas shooting rockets at Israel, all of them near civilian towns. 1. The "activists" are causing trouble. 2. Hamas is causing trouble.
51. #40 j...
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.29.11)
They are attempting to break a legal blockade. Confiscation of equipment used to attemp illegal actions is permitted and many times encouraged.

i do not agree with you at all that this is a legal blockade. the us has quite an experience concerning blockades of other countries. that is quite an achievement to be proud of! for excample it is high time to stop the cuban blockade etc. i want to see the us when the us is blockaded/invaded by other countries. would you like that? i do not think so. the us should mind its own business and stop lecturing the rest of the world and stop your us arrogance. many people(s) and many countries (including me) are really fed up with this. tell this to your us-government and to your us congress! the americans are not the uebermenschen, the masterrace, the herrenrasse, the superior race/people of this world.fortunately there are also good-willing americans. we (the entire mankind are all equal [in value]). the world/the earth belongs/is of/ to all of us!!!!!
55. #54
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.30.11)
Whether you agree or not, this is a LEGAL blockade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockade There is no 'blockade' of Cuba, although the US forbids US citizens to have contact with it . A blockade is an act of war; erego when Egypt blockaded the Straights of Tiran, this was a cassus belli for war. The rest of your rant should be directed towards those people whose actions and lies you conveniently ignore: Hamas, who shoots rockets indiscriminately towards civilians (Israel withdrew from Gaza, remember?), the fiction that there is starvation in Gaza, etc. ad nauseum. As usual, you are very short on facts,
