Lengualima ,   I   (06.29.11)
The message is clear, sit down to negotiate, fight on the negotiation table your desired state. What will have more value to the Palestinian Authority?, A fictitious declaration of a state that does not solve any problem, or the millions of dollars that the U.S. gives, which serve to keep the increasingly intolerable bureaucracy Fatah.
5. To US Senate : Don't threaten -ACT.(end)

6. If a conservative wins in 2012 .....
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (06.29.11)
And America is rid of Obama, you can kiss a Palestinian state good-by. Not only do all the candidates support Israel but they will love to cut spending. To help this along, we should voluntarily give up US aid, provided aid is cut off to our Arab neighbors as well.
7. Keep your money to yourself then, save your economy
Tony ,   Palestine   (06.29.11)
We are better off curing ourselves from reliance on this sort of "American assistance". It is more like an enslavement mechanism ensuring our Palestinian leaders answer to the US and Israel, not their own people. We will replace this help with Iranian money how would AIPAC-run Congress and their emasculated constituency feel about that? Take your money and you know what ;)
8. Tony, you know what % of the PA is aid?
Danny   (06.29.11)
9. "keep your money" fantasy of #7
michael durbin ,   tel aviv, israel   (06.29.11)
oh yes, and the iranians DEFINITELY hold the (arab) palestinians future near and dear to their hearts. that is funnier than the mossad tomato-killing rat story
10. @ 2
Ned Ferks ,   Australia   (06.29.11)
No Sir, you need to realize that it was the ability of Netanyahu to be able to acurately put sentences together in English which enables Israel to put her case acurately into discussion with other English-speaking leaders...
11. #7 and Eu money too
rita   (06.29.11)
don't be too cocky- the EU will most likely cut the money too- no flotillas etc... and I would not count on Iran and crazy Ahmad for too long- he is on his way out....
12. HAPPY 4th of july everybody!!!
I LOVE USA   (06.29.11)
as an israeli i'll be celebrating with you!!! and don't forget to wave your flag!
13. Terry, that's a deal I could buy into
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (06.29.11)
As it is, Israel gets some $3 Billion in military aid (some 3/4 of which must be spent in the US) plus a bit extra for special projects like Iron Dome and Arrow. Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and the Palestinians get even more. Heck, even Turkey gets US aid. If Israel weren't compelled to spend in the US maybe they wouldn't be so inclined to buy questionable aircraft like the F-35 (still 5 years out), or munitions less reliable than Israel's own product, or source its own designs in the US like the Namer APC. Israel could simply build locally or buy the best from wherever. Of course, such a deal would cost the US in access to Israeli enhancements and best practices, rights over facilities like its X-Band radar in the Negev, influence over policy, etc. Sounds like a losing proposition for US interests. What the US *should* be doing is moving the Israel account into the Defense Dept. budget alongside other "military assistance" programs. But those promoting "foreign aid" fear that would mean the whole foreign aid scheme would collapse.
14. #12 4th of July
michael durbin ,   tel aviv, israel   (06.29.11)
Amen to that
15. Cut their aid regardless. They don't need that
Ypip ,   Canada   (06.29.11)
They do WANT IT!!! very loudly. However, they don't need it.
16. When Israel rejects the Two State Final Solution....
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.29.11)
Israel does herself enormous harm by pretending to endorse the monstrous Two State Final Solution. A cursory glance at a map proves Israel could not survive a decade if we allow this abomination. Israel has countless millions of friends in the U.S. and around the world who'll rally to support us as soon as we clearly reject the Two State Final Solution. We merely need a government with the guts to do so.
17. #3 you are confused
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.29.11)
All the Senate and House did is require Obama to hold Fatah and Hamas to the agreements that Yassir Arafat negotiated and signed, agreements which were clearly for the Arabs and against Israel. AIPAC? You mean Arafat.
18. A perfect storm
EZ   (06.29.11)
The biggest geopolitical story in the ME has not yet played out. Shiite Arab unrest in Bahrain and Eastern Saudi Arabia has made the Saudis dependent completely on American support. If America allows it, Bahrain will fall and possibly Eastern "Saudis" will request liberation from their Western "brothers". The Saudis know this. So, unlike in the past, when the Pal Arabs could count on them to pressure America and Europe using the oil card, that valve will now fail. The Pals will be w/o substantial Saudi backing.
19. Some sanity at last! Let Abbas face the consequences
Harry Wright ,   UK   (06.29.11)
of his dodging. No more free-loading off the US. Let him go with his begging hat to all those countries that vote in favour of a pals state. See if he will get anything from them. The economies of the EU states are in shambles, although Britain should take up the mantle and finance this new state regardless, seeing that it was the Brits who made a mess of things during the partition. Plus, they already said they will vote in favour of the new state. The other Arab states could not care less except to hold Arab League meetings full of hot air; the numerous, miniscule banana republics can barely balance their budgets on tourism and the sale of their bananas and haven't a clue about ME affairs; Central and South America have their own poverty to contend with; Africa can give blood but no money; Iran will make them pay back real heavy in "currency" that will ruin them further. Go for it Abbas! It is the best thing that can happen to your "state". Give the US the opportunity to spit you out and wash their hands off you..
20. Why do American taxpayers give money to the Pals?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.29.11)
The Pals regularly go out and chant "death to America". The Hamas government in Gaza still refuses to take action against the Palestinian terrorists who attacked an American diplomatic convoy and killed two Americans. The Palestinians are Arabs, with a colorful history of supporting brutal dictatorships that are opposite to all American ideals. Dozens of Americans have been killed in Palestinian terror attacks. You see it in Gaza. You see it in the West Bank. But when was the last time you saw a crowd of Israelis outside the US embassy in Tel Aviv chanting "death to America"? Never, of course.
21. #7
mark ,   Los Angeles USA   (06.29.11)
#7 It was of your own free will that your people voted for Hamas you kind of enslaved yourself. The only way your people will move forward is to drop the mission statement of the destruction of Israel. Accept Israels right to exist and make peace. You can not even have peace among yourselves why should the UN consuder giving you a nation. It is like giving a loaded pistol to a chimp.
22. Brian Cohen #20 the Americans don't know about it
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.30.11)
You forget about how Arafat ordered the murder of one Cleo Noel Jr.,in March 1973. He was the US Ambassador to Sudan and murdered by Black September. The paymaster of Black September was Abbas. The American taxpayers do not know that the US government funds over 54% of all monies going to Fatah, and Hamas.
23. for # 20, why continue to give billions to Israel
Jon ,   Baltimore US   (06.30.11)
Israel attacked the USS Liberty with aircraft and torpedo boats killing 34 American sailors. Why do we give them billions of dollars in advanced weapons and ammunition every year ? Why are we expected to keep any of the same weapons away from any of their possible adversaries so that the Israeli army maintains its ability to dominate anyone else in the region when it decides to accuse them of preparing for war and attacks them ? If we cut money to the Palestinians we should also cut all aid to Israel. Then maybe all will get serious about peace.

i have nothing against the american people and i enjoyed the us when i made a roundtrip there, but i am against us-domination and us-hegemony/rule over the entire world as iam also against domination/hegemony of any (other) country/people over the entire mankind.

it is not up to you whether a palestinian state will be established or not. if the palestinians will recognize "israel" then the zionists have to recognize a palestinian state at the same time/simultaneously. . this is not a one way- street, but it has to be mutual. only the sun rises for nothing/for free.
26. us senate
justice for all ,   world/planet planet   (06.30.11)
the us senate should keep their threats and their blackmail to itself. us authorities mind your own us business in your own country and leave the rest of the world alone in peace! many countries and many people(s) are really fed up of your meddling in internal, domestic, national affairs of other countries and of us-domination/hegemony/rule over the world. how would you like if other countries meddle in your us affairs? i think you would not like it too. we are not slaves. we are (all) free people.
27. #7, Tony of "palestine"
Chatich   (06.30.11)
"We will replace this help with Iranian money" LMAO!! Yah, uncle mahmood and the ayotollas will buy you all the rockets and explosives you can eat. Enjoy!
28. To my brother Chaim and others.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, RJ   (06.30.11)
Brother Chaim, I don't want to bore you. I repeat my thought about the issue because I love your Israelian State, that I have endorsed since I was a teenager, (Today I am 66 years old, and Judge in my country). If I were not a friend, I would not spend my time, on writing to democratic Ynet. Listen, please. "One State" is the worst solution. Israel, a Democracy, will have a great number of Arab residents, whose citizenship can not be refused, and her Jewish character will be endangered. The refered dwellers can never be expeled, or "repatriated" to Jordan. Forgetting international opinion, I don't believe a Democratic State, founded into Humanism, will be able to adopt that violent and unfair way. Listen, also. 1967 borders are, in fact, indefensible. Jerusalem will be, forever, your eternal Capital. But your Prime Minister is right. Out of "Two States" into the Holy Land, nothing can be effectively done. I know your people is tired and nervous, because of continuous terrorism from Hamas, Hezbollah and other filthy groups. I know the aggressions you suffer from several men and women, influenced by anti-semitic prejudices. I am not a naive. But I don't find another way, except negociations under a strong position and patience. I want, only, to help a State and a God's chosen people, that I much admire. Think deeply about it. I salute you again. (Um abraço, in Portuguese language).
