Because, as a sovereign state, Israel has every right to decide who does and does not enter the country. The "activists" can fly to Jordan or to Egypt. Israel does not have to let them in and should not let them in. Besides, there is no such place as "Palestine." By the way, the West Bank that Israel acquired in the course of fighting a defensive war against Jordan had no infrastructure, almost no paved roads, one hospital and no universities or medical clinics. Infant mortality was among the highest in the world. There was no sewage system, which accounted for the perennial cholera outbreaks that claimed thousands of lives. Israel fixed all that and more. High paying jobs in Israel helped the West Bank blossom. But now that the "Palestine" Authority controls the Arab areas, their part of the West Bank is right back to where it was in 1967. The best thing that ever happened to the Arabs living in the West Bank was Israel. Now, the Arab sectors are back to looking like a third world country. Or worse.
32. right on!

Does Canada allow agents provocateurs into the country on demand? No? Really? Why? Isn't Canada a democracy?
34. then fly to amman or cairo. bar for 15 yrs from israel
ralph   (07.06.11)
35. Dino
IlanaB   (07.06.11)
I am surprised that you, with you dino-like opinions live in a modern democracy. I fear that you do not really understand what a democracy is. It is not anarchy for one.
36. PALESTINE = BIG LIE
maurice ,   ISRAEL   (07.06.11)
PALESTINE IS JORDAN JORDAN IS PALESTINE ARABS GO OUT OF THE JEWISH HOMELAND !!
37. ISRAEL FROM SEA TO JORDAN RIVER
MAURICE ,   ISRAEL   (07.06.11)
AND PALESTINE EASTWARDS THAT S THE TRUTH
38. allowed In
william ,   Canada   (07.06.11)
Why would Israel allow these people in the Country, makes no sense.
39. I think instead of looking how to turn them around Israel
leo ,   usa   (07.06.11)
should find the ways how to milk them. For example, mandatory to by life insurance necessary for the visit of hostile territory - something like $2000 for every $1000 of coverage. Direct transfer from BG to Ramalla $10,000, etc ... You cannot believe how quickly it will cure desire to host any kind of provocation.
40. these guys are obviously just
Barney ,   USA   (07.06.11)
coming to make trouble or make Israel look bad. I say treat them courteously but a short leash of tolerance for anything that Israel does not like. Have plenty of cameras to document their behavior.
41. Entry to provoke or incite is not a right
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (07.06.11)
Those who say "democracy" means Israel has to allow them entry irrespective of their intent have no idea what the word means. Israel is sovereign, which means THEY get to decide who they allow to enter. You who are neither citizens nor legal residents have no right to enter just so you can stoke the fires and cause trouble. Do that in your own house.
42. Only want to show solidarity?
Mark ,   USA   (07.06.11)
How about showing solidarity with Syrians? Probably not...that would be too real. The "Big Activists" would wet their pants when Assad's thugs came after them. These people are leftist cowards. They're like the people who drive about with Free Tibet bumper stickers in the US! How about driving around in Beijing? Israel-send them packing.
43. 41
zionist forever   (07.06.11)
Democacy is a word thats abused by the left and arab supporters. If there is no peace talks with the palestinians, Israel is accused of being undemocratic. Rabbi Lior makes a few contreversial statements, Israel is accused of being undemocratic. Some haredi make some trouble, Israel is accused of being undemocratic. Israel imposes a blockade of Gaza for security, Israel is accused of being undemocratic. Israel wants to stop Irangetting nukes, if necacrry through military action and once again its undemocratic. It seems everytime Israel does something the left don't agree with its accused of being undemocratic. These people either do not understand th real meaning of democracy or they intentionaly define democracy as whatever suits them at the time.
44. No. They Are Enemies of Israel
Dallas ,   Canada   (07.06.11)
and as such have no business going through Israel. Let them go through Amman.
45. 12
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.06.11)
Aloof your memory does not serve you well at all, how can it, the last time you were in Israel was 2002 when you got yourself deported! Crossing from Jordan into Israel there is first the Jordanian border control, a bit further is the Israeli border control. Any person whose papers are in order is allowed to cross the Jordanian border into Israel. Please do me a favour, ask 1 of your activist buddies who has travelled to Israel from Jordan. to have a good look at his/her passport to see that there is no Palestinian stamp, but Israeli stamp in his\her passport. The country Palestine does not exist, no matter how hard you try to convince others here & elsewhere, the country you mean is Israel. Now choke on that!
46. Similar to hooligans.
Beary White ,   Norway   (07.06.11)
There should be no problem to return the activists. Their behaviour are similar to fotball-hooligans, travelling just to make riots. European contries are sending the hooligans back from where they came. Israel has the legal rights to do the same, no discussion at all.
47. 46
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.06.11)
Israel Evening TV News reported that quite a few activists who landed at Ben Gurion Airport have already been deported. YAY!
48. #8 Jane - Where you at ?
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.07.11)
Real Democracies require an application for a permit for the gathering Real Democracies don't allow people that are assembled to participate in a riot or to advocate one When the protestors throw rocks, with the intent to injure the recipient of that rock, they deserve to get shot, since they themselves had intended to injure or kill I don't know where you live, nor do I care, why not approach one of your local police and throw a rock at him, let us know if you survive his response? It’s no wonder that Tarzan had Cheetah as his sidekick, Jane wasn’t all that smart, you just proved it In real Democracies, your rights stop at the tip of my nose
49. #26 The onus is on you....
Phil ,   Ireland   (07.07.11)
.....to try to prove the existence of "Palestine". It's not in my World Atlas. But then neither is cloud cuckoo land.
50. To #31 re devolving west bank of the Jordan
John ,   Alaska   (07.07.11)
This makes sense. Isaiah 43:19-21 tells us that HaShem will essentially turn the desert into a garden "to give drink to my people, my chosen. This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise." The wilderness is blessed because the Jews are there. Once they are not, the blessing goes away also. This happened in Gaza too. When the Jews were unjustly evicted by their own government, the Arabs took the opportunity to destroy the greenhouses the Jews left for them. It is never good news when people suffer, even when they bring their troubles on themselves. But maybe the Arabs can see that in cursing the Jews they are cursing themselves. Then they might return the land to its rightful owners and share in the blessing thereof.
51. #12 BEN ALOFS - What must I do
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.07.11)
to get you to the answer the easy questions which would have proven your claim to a fictional Palestine ? There is no such thing as a Palestinian Border post, that's an impossibility, since there never was and still Isn't an entity called Palestine If there were such a thing, you could have proven it by answering my Easy Questions Palestine ? Who were it's last three Kings or Rulers, when did they reign ? What was your ancient currency called? Where may I view some genuine ancient Palestinian Artifacts? I have more questions, I will be happy if you can asnswer just these three, if you dare
52. #16 Then your visitng the wrong place
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.07.11)
Philistines came from the Aegean, near Greece, you wasted your money by coming here I suggest you take the next flight home, because if you try any funny stuff, you're not going to enjoy an Israeli hoosegow in summertime, it's as hot as where you should really go to
53. Activists: Mention "Palestine" at Passport Control!
Dallas ,   Canada   (07.07.11)
... and see the reaction you get!
54. #12
Eyal ,   USA/ISRAEL   (07.07.11)
Correction.... There is the Sheik Hussain Bridge, which is located north of the Allenby, has access to tourists and Palestinians alike, coming in and out of Israel from Jordan. This bridge gives access to many Arab Villages in the Jordan Valley and Samaria area. Then there is the Allenby Bridge, not formally, still is the Allenby Bridge, formally King Hussain Bridge. But if you wanna be fair, the Jordanians call it King Hussain and we call it Allenby. These border gateways are Israel's and will always be through Israel. We all know what the Arab motives are, which is why Israelis don't trust Arabs through the borders. The activist agenda though, is to get their 15 seconds of fame. Israel is not responsible for Palestinian mistakes over the years. Arabs spread hate and violence, not only in Israel, but to almost everyone around the world. Why could these activists enter through Amman and than through the Allenby Bridge? And the answer is?
55. i hope our guys will kick their ass and make them regret
Ester   (07.07.11)
their support for arabs lol
56. These are our enemies.
Reuven   (07.07.11)
Arrest them!
57. It's hard to tour a fictonal state.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.07.11)
It's hard to tour Palestine, because it doesn't exist. It's hard to tour a fictional state. Meanwhile Israel is real and these terrorist collaborators aren't welcome here.
58. Station immigration officers in France and
Harry Wright ,   UK   (07.07.11)
the major countries from which the provocateurs are coming. Saudi Arabia does it during Hajj. Some other countries do it as well when they expect increased traffic. Weed them out in their country, as many as you can.
59. Remember the G20 violent protest in Toronto
Harry Wright ,   UK   (07.07.11)
Don't let that happen in Israel. I'm sure some of the same hooligans have purchased tickets for this flapilla. The 40 or so Arab organisations invited these people to enter Israel to cause havoc. Deny all these "tourists" entry. Stop them in their own countries if you can. You are within your rights. They have made public statements of their true intent. This has nothing to do with democracy. Democracy does not mean that citizens of a country must have free access to another country for the purpose of causing havoc and disturbing the peace. They have the option to organise their protests in their own countries. Invitation from the Arabs mean nothing. Many people invite their relatives to visit and are turned away at the airport or not given visas at all. These people have vocalised threats against Israel and must not be allowed to carry them out.
60. Ben Gurion?
Sam ,   NYC   (07.07.11)
Why don't these sheygetzers use Marka International in Amman? Let them travel the way Palestinian Arabs travel when they come to visit homes in West Bank? Let them enjoy full contact with the objects of their political fetish, with minimum contact with the Israelis. Ah, but they hope for an international incident at B.G. or within Israel. Send these shleppers home upon arrrival.
