1. Poorly Written Article
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (07.11.11)
2. You have to be kidding
John cone ,   Usa   (07.11.11)
Idealogy based on foreign goverment funded groups is not demacrocy. Arresting rabbis for a foreword in a book is not democrocy. Ideology based on foreign direction is not democrocy. Helping foreign boycotters of Israeli products is not democracy. Kudos to the MKs getting this bill passed to prevent boycotts of Jude and Samaria .
3. Faulty law proposal
Rose ,   Rehovot, Israel   (07.11.11)
The most powerful thing that exists is an idea. No amount of "silencing laws" will help solve a problem, freedom of expression will.History has illustrated this time and again. I have the feeling that Israel is losing her marbles big time and is resorting more and more to strong arm tactics.
4. This Article = No research = Idiot author
gedaliah   (07.11.11)
This Bill is for Government funded companies/organizations. This is not aimed at the public sector. Does this fact escape you? You have every right to boycott all you want, but if you are an actor being paid by the state, then you cannot. It is a breech of contract. If you are a soldier and want to boycott the settlements, you cannot, you are an employee of the State. Get it? So what is the connection with Cottage Cheese? These boycotts were from private citizens to a private company. Another Failure for YNET...Chauk it up.
5. #3, actually no
Danny   (07.11.11)
as we can see from left-wing terror groups post fall of the USSR they need money to keep going. Attack their funding and they will not be able to make as much noise, just in proportion to the miniscule section of Israeli and European society they represent.
6. Strip leftist traitors of their Israeli citizenship!
Dov ,   Haifa   (07.11.11)
Treason must be suppressed!
7. The boycotters are anti-democratic!
Shai ,   IL   (07.11.11)
It's always those who aren't numerous enough to win in elections who try to get what they want through non-democratic means such as boycotts. You had your chance to vote, your view was debated during the elections, and we don't agree with you. LIVE WITH IT!
8. #6 Dov and treason
phil ,   the free world   (07.11.11)
What's your view on Jonathan Pollard?
9. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.12.11)
Jonathan Pollard was found guilty of espionage, not treason. There hasn't been a treason trial in the United States since that of Aaron Burr, in 1803. It may interest you to learn that the only two people executed in the 20th century (or since) for espionage were Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, both Jews. Far more devastating to the interests of the United States were spies such as Alger Hiss, Whittaker Chambers, the Walker family, Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanson, to name but a few. I do not condone Pollard's actions, but he's served long enough, and the simple fact of the matter is that the United States interests did not suffer. The same cannot be said for the devastation that Aldrich Ames' espionage caused. Nearly four dozen American assets in the former Soviet Union and subsequently Russia were compromised, and executed. Robert Hanson's espionage was equally damaging, and also cost the lives of valuable assets. No one has died because of Jonathan Pollard's actions.
10. A call to boycott Arabs is not OK, why for Jews?
Madison ,   Neve Zedek   (07.12.11)
There is an absurdity in that calling for a boycott against Arabs is illegal but a similar boycott against Hareidim or residents of Judea and Samaria was not even a civil offense. This law attempts to eliminate that injustice.
11. The Left's Big Lie
David ,   Modiin   (07.12.11)
As usual, the Left get the argument completely upside down. he law does not apply to anyone expressing their opinion on what's best for Israel. So it does not stifle debate (the author's sensationalis headline) and is not anti-democratic. What it does do is to threaten sanctions against those unwilling to oppose the policies of aIsrael's democratic government by democratic means. Instead, they choose to subvert Israel's democracy by allying themselves with Israel's enemies abroad to cause economic harm to those they disagree with (or indeed to all of us). Come to think of it, this blindness to their own anti-democratic behaviour is probably why they were so comprehensively thrashed at the ballot box.
12. Oh, and as for the picture of

Palestinians burning products made in the settlements, I sincerely hope they bought them before they burned them
13. 2000 yr old history?

what happened to the other 1500 yrs?
14. Other 3000 years

15. Boycotting criminals to trial NOW!
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.12.11)
After decades of having Israeli law controlled by far leftists who oppose virtually everything good for Israel, most of Israel has had enough. The boycott law is excellent and must be vigourously enforced. It is lunatic to allow people to claim all the benefits of Israeli citizenship while fostering boycotts against Israel, or any part of Israel. Boycotting criminals to trial NOW!
