31. To #9 Yes, quite sure
John ,   Alaska   (07.13.11)
II Kings 19 talks about Israelites all on their own against a vastly superior army. The last extra-Biblical word about this encounter, Sennecherib reports: "I have Hezekiah trapped like a bird in a cage." After the II Kings 19 incident, there are no more Assyrian reports of what happened. II Kings 19:35 tells the rest of the story: "And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they [were] all dead corpses." HaShem can save by few or many, or simply on His own. With His favor, a slung stone is more powerful than a fully armored giant, and with His favor, Israel alone is stronger than a vast and terrifying army.
32. most people in the world never give Israel a second thought

there are activists in Israel and activists in many other countries but the vast majority of people in the world are no more interested in Israel than they are in Syria or Dijibouti. The problem is that Israelis seem to think they are an exceptional country like America. Exceptionalism is irritating in Americans and laughable in Israelis.
33. No - Engaging

The solution has to be whereby all the parties in the region, i.e. Israel, Judea and Samaria/The West Bank, Gaza, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia co-operate on a multitude of issues. This is the crystal clear message from this explosion. The people of the region need to share in an increasing general welfare. They need safety; energy; water; shelter; mobility; elimination; food; etc. etc. I am not talking creating a dependent society. A balance of private property combined with a safety net is the key. The Middle East really is underperforming. It should be a centre of unfolding potential, not a stagnating vortex. If I am asked to Jerusalem with my team I know what meetings need to take place and with whom. A vision can be enunciated and "sold". G-d wants peace to reign in the Middle East. The current GDP of Israel, the West Bank/Judea and Samaria, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia is $1.6 Trillion. This can easily grow by 5% per annum if courage vision and trust building is shown by the various leaders with the support of the people. Prayers for the Middle East !
34. Fear and Isolation
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (07.13.11)
The following is the best saying I have heard from the Middle East in the past three years... "Looks like we're not so isolated as we were afraid." - Tahl, 2011 Ashdod
35. #32. grr. Yeah baby
Silverio Facundo ,   Guatemala   (07.17.11)
"...most people in the world never give Israel a second thought ". That's why Israel occupies the center-fold arena in European, U.S. and arab news. That's why Israel concentrates 90% of the attention of the General Assembly and assorted organs of the useless United Nations. That's why misguided retards in campuses in California, in Colorado, In Iowa, in NY, in Toronto don't give a second thought and pamper themselves in "Israel apartheid weeks". That's why the whole world gathers in Durban I, and its reruns to lambast Israel. That's why fools picket outside Israeli shops and general supermarkets in the UK, in France, in Holland to support "BSD" boycotts against Israel. For not giving a second thought, they certainly dedicate a lot of time and effort not to give that second thought.
