No. 23 I agree with you totally. I raised three children, and no way in the world would they have been walking alone at that age, (or at any age, they were always allowed only in groups). I took them and picked them up, or arranged for the other parents to do so. Better safe than sorry. I read in a N.Y. paper that this boy was autistic. I don't know if this was a misprint, since only one paper mentioned this. If so, how dare his parents let him wander around alone. Seven, eight blocks is a long way for a small child, and it was an unfamiliar route for him. How terrifying that he happened to ask this beast for help, (if that's what happened). NOODLES, no one is suggesting that a child stay in their homes for the rest of their lives. There are certain safety rules and parents and children should follow, and an 8 year kid wandering NYC alone, is just not a great idea.

I was refering to post No.1 who was refering to the kidnapping of an Orthodox boy from israel who was taken to Brookly. Both no.1 's post and my post were written when this was a missing person case, before the body was found. Poor child.

Yes, the boy was killed by another orthodox Jew. Not by someone dressed as an orthodox Jew. And many years ago there was an orthodox Jew who fled from Brooklyn to Israel (he is still here) who was awaiting trial for sodomy of small boys, but not murder.
