1. GIVE HIM PALESTINIAN CITIZENSHIP
MAURICECLEBERT ,   judea samaria israel   (07.14.11)
AS A TRAITOR, HE DESERVES IT
2. Swap him for Pollard
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (07.14.11)
3. what does pollard metter here?
courtney ,   usa   (07.14.11)
you can keep your own traitor, just as we will keep ours...
4. I am not proud of....
Yuri ,   EX Israeli soon   (07.14.11)
My Israeli citizenship too... I hope that Vanunu is able to open the flood gates...
5. What a drama queen
Dave ,   Paris, France   (07.14.11)
This guy is such a drama queen, nobody cares if he will revoke his citizenship or not. Just like nobody cared when he converted to Christianity, he is just doing all this for the attention and the drama.
6. The guy is a self-confessed traitor.
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (07.14.11)
Regardless of the politics surrounding his betrayal, what other country would feasibly want to grant citizenship to a person who betrayed his original country? Conceivably, the moment he has a bone to pick with his new country, he would do the same to them. Whichever country took him, would have to put restrictions on all his future movement, employment, and contacts, to limit the possibility of his gaining access to sensitive information which could be used against his adoptive country. In short, no country would take him in without him subjecting him to constant surveillance. The only reason I could see for any country taking on this kind of liability, would be political: TO HAVE A POKE AT ISRAEL.
7. "cannot find his place in Israeli society"
William ,   Israel   (07.14.11)
no kidding? After acting as a traitor against your own countrymen (all 7 million today), and acting in your own interests....is it any wonder? I agree, you shouldn't be walking among Israeli society. You should be hanging on a dang wall in a basement somewhere.
8. Vanounou
Moroccan Jew ,   Rabat, Morocco   (07.14.11)
You might have diffent slain on Mordecai, but unlike Polard, he, Vanounou, is out after paying more than his due to the Israel society. I do not agree with his conduct, but as an independent human, like you or I, he is entitled to carry on in whatever is left in his years, and try to proove himself otherwise, though the environment for him in Israel is not conducive to achieve such an aim. Let him go....
9. to nr. 1
justice for all ,   world/planet earth   (07.14.11)
mordechai vanunu is not a traitor. he is a whistleblower, a hero like julian assange and bradley manning from wikileaks and daniel ellsberg of the pentagon papers among others. i hope that vanunu may/can find a place where he can live a decent, normal life in peace, where-ever in this world.
10. to nr. 2.
justice for all ,   world/planet earth   (07.14.11)
i think your suggestion is smarter/cleverer than the one of nr. 1..
11. Sure, why not?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.14.11)
Kick him to Gaza. I'm sure he'll learn to regret his treason, shortly before the ersatz "Palestinians" kill him. No great loss.
12. 2000 Years of Exile Made US Insane
Tom Rogers ,   Maaleh Adumim   (07.14.11)
13. @Yuri:
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (07.14.11)
Hey, no one is holding you here by force. As some great Aussie is supposed have said: Please feel free to take advantage of one of the great freedoms of this country: THE FREEDOM TO LEAVE!
14. #3 - Pollard was a traitor?
William ,   Israel   (07.14.11)
I didn't realize he is considered such a traitor for sharing US secrets with Israel (a strong, long-time ally), secrets the US promised to share with Israel but changed their mind on. In contrast, it wasn't 2 weeks before Russian spies, who did pass secrets and work against the US, for a non-ally State, to be released and given a heroes welcome in their homeland. You're just going after low-hanging fruit, and its pathetic.
15. #4 - I'm pretty sure you're not a criminal
William ,   Israel   (07.14.11)
like Vanunu, so feel free to give up your citizenship and leave at any time. This is a free country and people are welcome to immigrate or EMIGRATE at will.
16. Interesting that Muslim countries dont have traitors - alive
(07.14.11)
Yeah...funny thing that...
17. so ba-bye now then, go someplace else
(07.14.11)
you dont need to have your citzenship revoked just up an go someplace else retard
18. find him a home at a good zoo an throw peanuts
(07.14.11)
at him
19. "the Israeli street & media are treating him belligerently"
Tahl   (07.14.11)
Gee now, I wonder why is that? Maybe because he exposed our most classified military secrets, with the intention of having our nukes dissolved by the international community, leaving us with no protection? Maybe because he expressed unwavering support to our enemies? Maybe because he collaborated with the most anti-Israel journalists out there, just to smear us time and again? Maybe because he repeatedly called us a "terrorist" state, and said we have no right to exist here? Maybe because he converted to Christianity not from an affection to Jesus Christ, but out of hatred to Judaism? Maybe because he made a principled choice not to speak Hebrew anymore, because he hates us so much and wants nothing to do with us? Just a few possible explanations...
20. #4 I bet you had no qualms receiving the Sal Klita.
Tahl   (07.14.11)
So you are not too proud of your Israeli citizenship, and about to leave us. Please Yuri, don't let the door hit you on your way out. Chances are, you are not even Jewish, so you didn't belong here in the first place, just another freeloader on our economy. And if you are Jewish, I wish you all the best coping with the skinheads in the former USSR, they were never too fond of us, and I hear they're rising in an alarming rate over there. And as you leave (hopefully for good this time), why won't you show us just how proud are, by returning your Sal Klita?... Or that's expecting too much of a hypocrite and a social leech like you?
21. Do tell us, #8...
Tahl   (07.14.11)
What's it like, living as a dhimmi?
22. #15 Vanunu is NOT allowed to leave Israel.
BDS   (07.14.11)
William, the point is that Vanunu is NOT allowed to leave Israel.
23. If hamass had a state, he would be granted citizenship then
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.14.11)
killed by some faction for being born a Jew.
24. #3 Jews not putting Israel first are traitors
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (07.14.11)
Courtney, I don't know how to break this to you gently...but Pollard is our hero not your traitor or anything else. As for Vanunu - he would make a better role model for the lost tribe of Jews in the USA than disgracing our Holy Land with his foul stench. He might get them to see how low a Jew can become when he does not put Israel first before other nations. We Jews say the most sacred prayer called the Shema - It goes like this - 'Hear O' Israel - the Lord is our G-d - the Lord is One' - That means that Jews identify foremost with our Lord and that we call out as a people - Israel. Now I suggest you don't act as a traitor to the USA, which puts it's trust in G-d, by trying to cut off even a single Jew from our wonderful people. Have a good day!
25. Vanunu's Appeal
Spencer ,   Israel   (07.14.11)
This despicable man IS a traitor and a spy. He always will be. His conviction didn't remove this stain.
26. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.14.11)
Vanunu was a traitor. Pollard was a spy. Legally -- there is a difference.
27. Why is it even his choice?
Danny   (07.14.11)
This guy should have been locked up forever.
28. To: No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.14.11)
Judging by your name you are ex-Soviet Union. Somewhere. Hey, you're probably not even Jewish, in which case we neither need you or want you. Get lost.
29. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.14.11)
Why are you still in Morocco? I am not being mean; merely curious. I really would like to know why any Jew would wish to live in an Arab or Islamic country, where things can -- and do -- blow up at a moment's notice. I do realize that Morocco is more stable than most, but still ....
30. Not sure how that works
John ,   Alaska   (07.14.11)
I thought one needed a passport to enter a country. Perhaps if he had a visa to enter a country it would be safe to let him give up his citizenship. I don't know anything about him. He has brought upon himself unpleasant circumstances, though not unexpected ones. Here in the States a convicted felon also has restrictions placed on him, as well as often a social stigma. I hope wherever he winds up, this person finds peace, and kept from a position where he could betray that country also.
