OUR GENIUS SHARON, WITH DREW FROM GAZA AND THE GENIUS MOFAZ WITHDREW FROM THE PHILADELPHIA CORRIDOR. ISRAEL WANTED TO SUBCONTRACT ITS SECURITY IN GAZA TO THE EGYPTIANS? Do we have any more geniuses available?
3. Egypt govt must take full responisbility for all its borders
Rafi ,   US   (07.21.11)
... lest others do it for them. It is unfortunate, but unless matters change soon, Israel will need to deal pro-actively with the situation.
4. Any evidence for this?

tiki ,   belgium   (07.21.11)
If Israel knows all this, why doesn't it stop it, BEFORE they start to launch, because sooner or later they will, we ALL know that. Only having or providing the info is not enough, it's what you do with it.
7. I think you are blaming Sharon for nothing.
leo ,   usa   (07.21.11)
If anything he changed the conditions in a such way that now war will be not internal to Israel, but external.
8. We'll raze Gaza if they use them

Sooner or later, you're gonna have to roll into that rathole with everything you've got.

Which is exactly what Gaza will become if Hamas/Jihad are dumb enough to leash a salvo of missiles on Tel Aviv and nobody will criticize Israel for making it happen.

That may have been his intention, but we still have rockets landing in Israel now, before the hostilities restart in earnest. Giving away part of Israel was not only violating Scripture, but also had the effect of giving the enemy a launching area from which to attack. Still, Mr Sharon did not act in a vacuum. Blaming him is like blaming an apple for the apple tree from which it grew.

Ever heard of the Goldstone report? Israel counterattacked the racist-Hamas organization after it kidnapped Shalit and attacked Israeli civilians. Immediately, foreign-funded Israeli NGOs started a media assault that caused Israel to stop the war before destroying Hamas, dooming Shalit. Later, these NGOs faked evidence they gave to Goldstone so he could condemn Israel for defending herself. #1 and #2 are right, history will remember the ethnic cleansing of Gush Katif as one of the stupidest moves ever made.
13. #7: you don't understand what's going on
tom ,   toronto, canada   (07.22.11)
gaza was never "internal" to israel, but with idf troops patrolling inside gaza, and "settlers" for the arabs to shoot at, the situation was much better controlled than it is today. since sharon's "disengagement", not only is there no peace, but the arabs have fired over 10,000 rockets into israel, with promises of far more, and the lives of thousands of israelis, inside the green line, have turned into a nightmare. hamas has fired up to 100 rockets a day into israel - i don't see how you could call that "external"!

Israelis need a reality check and they only learn the hard way. Perhaps, if the rockets start hitting the outskirts of Tel Aviv and other parts of central Israel, the public will realize that these peace agreements are worthless. In the mean time don't run stories like this, what really counts is the price of cottage chesse, oh and dont bother publishing stories about a Nuclear Iran either. It will not keep them from sticking their heads in the cottage chesse.
15. When the bullets start flying
Sagi ,   Soldier in Israel   (07.22.11)
We are waiting patiently, and methodically stand in full preperation for any and all agression that may begin and be directed upon the State. From my experiance, the State has given all above and beyond to create some form of understanding between the peoples of Gaza and the State of Israel. Every day I watch for HOURS Semi loads of Food, housing goods, building supplies, and every day comforts shipped into the strip without hessitation. While in return they launch motar shells and missles back at us. I understand the desire for complete liberty on their behalf. But you cannot acomplish that by firing upon your neighbors while every attempt to create a form of agrement on peace is further pushed aside by dilerbate acts of violence. Simply stop shooting at us, stop trying to smuggle terrorists and weapons into israel to cause harm to her peoples. We arn't in Gaza trying to blow up your schools and busses, or even your army compounds. The State of Israel retaliates to agression and welcomes the Idea of peace, even to the point of burying her sons in the attept to prove our wilingness. But even to this mark my words, our patience is longsuffering and desire for peace stronger. But make no mistake, the next confrontation will not end in a ceasefire accompanied by priceless human sacrifice for yet another deadlock in this our strive for regional peace. This time when the bullets start flying, our enemies will know, there is a G-d in Israel, and his name isn't Allah. "It is an unfortunate fact that we can secure peace only by preparing for war." John F. Kennedy
16. Diskin Said it All Before
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (07.22.11)
Before Cast Lead, Diskin told everybody about the thousands of rockets and the anti-aircraft weapons and that would bring down the entire IAF in one afternoon. Now, the pictured of the Kursk Bulge are being painted in people's imaginations. The hyperbole is stunning. Do they have phasers and Klingon disruptors, too? Have they been importing nukes from Pakistan? Where do they hide the Migs? Surely they have Migs. Or maybe they are getting F-16s from the Iraqis.
17. PULLING OUT OF GAZA
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (07.22.11)
Sharon pulled out of Gaza to show the world that we wanted peace. And he got credit for it. The world knows now that the pull out resulted in more war. It is costly for us, but the point needed to be made. Gaza is going to rely on Egypt more than ever now & one day it's going to explode at the point that Egyptians will have no choice, but to adopt it as their own. We have to be more patient here. Egyptians have started somethinng that they can't stop now.
18. to nr. 10.
world-inhabitant ,   world/planet earth   (07.22.11)
this is stupid, dirty hate-/war-mongering. go first yourself before the idf to the gaza-strip and set the conflict straight/deal with it. and read (the) history (of your country) and find out to where your " great idea" can lead/leads. we (also the us and the zionist republic of "israel" etc. have to take into account with the entire world/mankind in order to exist and to survive. and be a good example for your children, if you have them.
19. To #15 most well said
John ,   Alaska   (07.22.11)
May every soldier in Israel share your resolve, and may the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob protect your people and secure the peace of your nation.
20. Israel, stand tall
Standing Tall ,   USA   (07.23.11)
It is time to start standing up for yourself. Any further rocket attacks should be met with immediate and sustained retaliation. Once and for all, eliminate the threats to you. The middle east only understands force and strength. Stop being weak, start being strong and warn these terrorists to leave you alone. Withdrawal from the Phildelphi corridor, from South Lebanon and from Gaza was a mistake. These Arabs will have to learn the jewish state is here to stay. It is time to recognize this fact and deal with it.
