As an Israeli and a Jew and an American I believe the time has come to seriously reduce the foreign aid received by Israel (and Egypt). While military aid to Israel must continue as it benefits the U.S. in many different ways, I think the time is ripe to ween Israel off the U.S. financial aid milk. This will be beneficial to both countries whose alliance and friendship is based on common values. Canada and Israel should be treated the same. The U.S. aid to Israel should be limited to military and diplomatic.

I am a Christian and support Israel, Zionism (hey, God came up with this movement) and Jews 100% in principle, and also do my small part financially. I guess I'm on the right side (can't go wrong if you follow the Bible—God's word to humanity). Total US non-military aid to Israel is in the vicinity of $25-30 million annually. This is a trivial amount compared to the total Israeli budget. I agree with you that this should be eliminated. I would also like to see the military portion start to be lowered.
