1. Not grand enough crime
Ron ,   Melbourne, Australia   (07.27.11)
His mistake is not aiming higher. If he had gone to the bother of blowing up a plane he would have been released long ago on compassionate basis - see lockabee bomber....
2. You do the crime you do the time
Haim ,   TA   (07.27.11)
Pollard betrayed his country America for money, his actions endangered the lives of his fellow Americans, now hes using the "im a Jewish victim' card, well i guess he should have thought about that one in the first place.
3. Not gonna happen in a pre-election year
Mea   (07.27.11)
and certainly not gonna happen by a black president facing a raging white supremist congress ramping up his muslim connections. Releasing Pollard will result in a very loud protest about Obama's loyalties to traitors. It will call into question other areas of concern for US citizen equivocating in their support for US aide to Israel. In a nutshell, this release should happen--for Israel's sake. If someone has to stay under bus in this scene, it has to Pollard. If he had spent these years being insightful instead of bitter, academic instead of angry, and had not fully participated in revising his action and character into fabricated tales of loyalties and super hero bull, he would've been out by now. The US is NOT going to allow Pollard to take the lecture circuit stage furthering the revised Pollard image and profiting off it ala Sarah Palin. Pollard's defense has been disgustingly unrealistic.
4. No sympathy from me
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (07.27.11)
It's unfortunate his wife is sick, and hopefully she gets well. But I have NO sympathy for Pollard. He should of considered all of this before deciding to be a spy for Israel.
5. the damage continues
Josh ,   USA   (07.27.11)
Every time Pollard and his allies complain, it simply undermines both Israel and American Jews. A spy is different from a completely innocent victim. A spy is not supposed to become a bargaining chip. To anyone who disagrees, my question to you is, how much of Jerusalem do you want to give up to get Pollard back? If the answer is none, then Pollard and his supporters should stop being a liability to Israel and all Jews.
6. OBAMA MUST CONTEMPLATE
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.27.11)
He only moves fast when he wants to for something he wants It took him 6 months to send additional troops to Afghanistan, even though the American General's tongues were hanging out waiting for them. Obama then cut their request by one third At present, Obama is tied up with his campaigning for the 2012 election and the dispute he has with the Republican's concerning the rotten shape of the economy, most of which was his direct fault Pollard is the very last thing on his mind, Obama is too consumed with himself
7. Speaking of Prisoner releases
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.27.11)
I hope Netanyahu is more effective in obtaining Pollard's release than he has been with Gilad's Shalit At this rate, it looks that both will wind up dying in prison
8. NO JEW should vote for obumma with Pollard in prison.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.27.11)
And as for Bibi, his balls are the size of peas.
9. Poor fellow needs a little companionship.
Chas. ,   Los Angeles   (07.27.11)
The authorities should be able to accommodate both of them without much trouble as long as the Israeli government is willing to pay room and board.
10. Cruelty beyond belief.Mr. President. 'WHY' ?
Roland Seener ,   London England   (07.27.11)
11. Enough is ENOUGH!
Noa   (07.27.11)
12. The spy want to be with his wifey
Remi   (07.27.11)
13. Release Pollard now
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (07.27.11)
Criminals who committed worse crimes aer released in far less time than Pollard. Pollard spied for a friendly nation - that's us, israel - because he knew damn well that Ameirca was not giving us all the information that they should have done. His actions did not harm Americans but that gross anti-Semite Caspar Weinberger chose to make an example of Pollard. It's a blight on American justice that he is still in prison. It's also a blight on our government at the time, and subsequent governments, who basically have washed their hands of him. As for Haim No. 2 - well he's surely done more thn the time.
14. One question without answer
Noa ,   Beer Sheva   (07.27.11)
What is all the animosity about? Why are there people who claim Pollard has endangered the lives of Americans in spying for Israel? I don't think Israel planned an attack on America at any point. Only recently there was a very pleasant and quiet exchange of convicted spies between Russia and America. Are these 2 countries on better terms than Israel and America? I really don't understand it.
15. "Haim" Tel Aviv
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.27.11)
are you a draft dodger?
16. 26 years in prison
JJohnson ,   Turks & Caicos   (07.27.11)
and they're still using that same damn photo. Maybe everyone would feel a bit more sympathy for the schmuck if he didn't come off as a greasy hippie.
17. #8 BONNIE - I MUST CORRECT YOU
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.27.11)
NO JEW should vote for Obama under ANY circumstances, he's a plain out and out Jew Hater and hater of Israel Ever since he took office, all his actions in the ME have been and are detrimental to Israle, not just the American People What bothers me even more is some of the Jewish Dems in Congress that are still tuchas lekking him like they were his pet poodles
18. #2 Haim - Your opinion doesn[t matter
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.27.11)
No matter what the subject you're always Anti-Israel Actually I would prefer that you changed your name to Mavet and assumed the pose
19. #14 Noa - Beersheva
ABE NJABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.27.11)
Your answer is a follows: After Pollard was caught, tried & convicted, Casper Weinberger (Sec’y. of Defense and also a convert to Christianity) expressed his wish that Pollard rot in jail to the end of his days There’s plenty of info, just Google http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/US-Israel/pollard.html
20. Can't do the time? Don't do the crime
Israel   (07.27.11)
Spying is a risky business - he wasn't forced into doing anything - fact is, he wasn't very good. You are either good or you get caught.
21. Ben Jabo (majority of 1)
mba ,   Israel   (07.27.11)
Seemingly no opinion (other than yours or those who agree with you) is relevant. Makes for boring dialogue and is quite inconsistent for a "Democrat" in the larger sense of things. Try attacking the subject once and not the person and maybe these talkbacks will arise from the gutter.
22. How much of Jerusalem should we give up for the whiner?
Josh ,   USA   (07.27.11)
