I have plenty of Canadian friends that tell me they would love to visit israel but are worried about the "security situation". Incidents like this make Israel look terrible. I really hope that the airport authority understands the severity of the situation and makes an example of these hooligans by banning them from any airport authority job for life. The airport authority needs to re-train all their supervisors... Work ethic in israel will never be like north american work ethic. Shame on these guards..

Yes, it was confiscated, wrapped and taped in a box by EL AL authorities "before" we left for Israel and were told we'd get it on the other end, which we never did. My son was heart-broken. This took place over 10 yrs again, when travelling was still hassle free and fun....

Over 30 years ago they already confiscated two clearly toy pistols from my two and three year olds for the duration of the flight to Israel. Airport security should be professional. Most likely they'll punish the kids, but what should be done is to fire their boss and make it clearthat should anything of this sort recur, the next boss will be dismissed as well.
