1. How do we pay for all of these things?
David Levy ,   Jerusalem   (07.31.11)
Are these protesters willing to pay more taxes (which are already burdensome) to pay for all these things? Why should we the tax payers provide more money so that students can go to university. I agree that housing is expensive, schools need work, and that medical doctors want more money, but where does it come from. In other words they want the government to take money from other Israelis and give it to these poor and unfortunate souls, but yet they do not have any plan to resolve the issue themselves. They protest for social change, but yet have no viable solution besides forcing others to pay for what they want.
2. Social service agencies need to be competative
Ypip ,   Canada   (07.30.11)
in order to serve the community at-hand, best can be.
3. We want, we demand.....
Cameron ,   USA   (07.31.11)
All the good things of the earth on a golden, govt. platter. From low rents to diapers on the cheap.
4. protests
kapriza ,   tsafon   (07.31.11)
Just one question: how should all these demands be funded?
5. sorry....
aline silverman ,   israel   (07.31.11)
I cannot take these people seriously...There are indeed HARD up people in Israel but you cannot find them amongst these people who are having a good time now ewith music shows and all...I listened to one of them on TV last night. He was complaining that is spite of his HIGH salary he was not able to finish the month....Sorry dude, there are people WHO REAlly need help AND YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THEM !!!!
6. Always carry HOPE in your heart,
Israeli ,   Israel   (07.30.11)
a smile on your face, joy in your step & love in your spirit. The rest will fall in place!!!! Israel's social revolution is here!!!!
7. who pays for all this?
judy ,   Tel Aviv   (07.31.11)
The government has managed wonderfully to supply cheap housing in the occupied territories, which has been an incentive for many people to move there. So apparently the money is available.Just until now not the will and motivation to funnel it into Israel.
8. Sorry, your revolution will fail because...
Nora Tel Aiv   (07.31.11)
...you are asking too much now. Will the present government have to tax everybody including you or recur to inflation to realize your demands? If it can not, which party willl you elect, how and when? So, ask for the possible: Let`s say that each new building should have 30% of its area reserved for 2, 21/2 and 3 room apartement and that universities should have satellite faculties at the periphery to cut down expenses and travel time.
9. Paying Plenty of Taxes
Sarah ,   Haifa   (07.31.11)
There is plenty paid in taxes. It all goes to the defense budget and to the settlements. Do you have any idea how much subsidies and compensation settlers get. Bring that money back to Israel!!
10. To all those who asked about funding.
Sergio ,   Tel Aviv   (07.31.11)
Yes right there are people in more need but you are talking about middle class that will join these people soon and what you gonna have left ? It is pity to hear that family with income of 30k ILS can't finish the month because of high prices and because for some reason it has to spend more to sustain sane level of life it used to have for years. If mid class will fail country will fail as simple as that. So they have full right to protest and say that they can't live the way they used to just because government is shouting about great economy but mid class eats you know what...
11. Sorry, but I was working...
withlove ,   Israel   (07.31.11)
Sorry guys that I couldn't attend the demonstrations. Cause I was working at that time in order to generate more business to feed my family.
12. rent increase
eitan ,   israel   (07.31.11)
there deffinately should be some restrictions on land lords charging what they want ,my rent went up 20 percent, now i have to find that money before i put food on the table
13. Go Bibi
Eli ,   Israel   (07.31.11)
Don't give in to these anarchists, yes we need to help to some extent but do not let these OBAMA Liberal anarchist scare you into communism. Tell Aviv is like Manhattan, if it is so expensive then you need to move. No to any welfare state. Stop spending so much money on Defense also, if they shoot a rocket level an entire street, It's better a thousand die and the fear kicks in than spend millions on special weaponry, a classic affordable carpet bombing will have better results and cost less.
14. A New Paradigm
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (07.31.11)
These protests are a microcosm. A new form of leadership is being called for. The current GDP of the areas of Israel, Judea and Samaria/The West Bank, Gaza, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Saudi Arabia is approximately $1.6 trillion. This region can grow by at least 5% p.a. over the coming 38 years. If the right command structure is put in place the Holy Land will be a platform of peace, stability and prosperity. The whole world will benefit from this centre of unfolding potential. This is not blue sky thinking. There are concrete benefits to the correct plan and vision prevailing.
15. Hilarios...America is about to tank and these imbeciles
Al   (07.31.11)
demand a free ride. Its the free ride that is tanking America. Get a clue.
16. Israel can you see the miracle
Johnathan ,   Country   (07.31.11)
In spite of the dire economics, Israel you are not alone and there should be some comfort in this, but can you see Israel, oh Israel can you feel, see, what is happening amongst yourselves, your protest's have not been marred by violence, riots, and bloodshed this is phenomenal, other countries can't amass the way you are without the violence, bloodshed yes this is a revolution but a miracle as well, here is the consolation there is no problem that hasn't a solution this is fact, it hasn't DAWNED on the government this mountain, yet, but as one does sleep during the dawn and pure, vivid revelations straddling between the dream world and reality then waking up. The answer is in the money bags of the rich its just as simple as that. Some people will never exhaust their wealth in five generations we've done the math, having more than you need, sounds pre-cancerous to me. MLK talked about the mountain and the molehill and what would be brought down low, the answer is right before your faces, its your GOVERNMENT and those that have more than they need.
17. social revolution
kapriza ,   tsafon   (07.31.11)
What's really sad is that these poor naive souls don't even realize how they're being used by the NIF - incited to protest anything, with no ideas for a solution, just to topple the government.
18. Raining All over the World
Ron ,   OC, US   (07.31.11)
Housing is a problem in the US as well. Housing has fallen in price but affordability is down with it. This problem is only going to get worse. I can suggest to Israel that they develop their oil resource at all cost. Israel like the US pays too much for it and exports none of it. Buy a Prius, Volt or Leaf. anything but SUV's.
19. To #3
Ilana ,   Merkaz   (07.31.11)
Hi Mr. Cameron, you are in the States, please mind America's business and let us here mind our own business...... bye
20. fix the sysytem
yaacovic ,   Melbourne, Australia   (07.31.11)
the problem is the Israeli political system where a majority of parties are only prepared to represent the interests of a minority of Israelis, those that vote for them, rather than all Israelis and government policy is held hostage to the peripheral demands of these same small parties in the coalition. Demands that only benefit their small number of constituents. How can you expect a fair outcome for all Israelis in such circumstances?
21. kvetchers, schnorrers
sweeter than honey ,   far away   (07.31.11)
22. Actually, Cameron
Benjamin ,   Tel Aviv   (07.31.11)
We want what we pay for. We pay very high taxes and we're sick of seeing them being spent on tax breaks for the wealthy and incentives for big corporations to come in, eat up resources and underpay their workers. The wealthy have been parasites on the middle class in this country for long enough.
23. Od Loh Avdah Tikvateinu
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (07.31.11)
24. to 1 yes richer people have to pay more taxes for a social
dovdevan ,   ashdod,paris   (07.31.11)
justie !!it's been many years that i see in israel social injustice the gap between poor and rich is bigger than ever before !! the israeli governement have to make deep social reforms and make the rich pay for the people who live under the poverty line that's mean a society more human who show solidarity with "unfortunate soul" as you call them !!!
25. congrutulation to those people at last they move
dovdevan ,   ashdod,paris   (07.31.11)
to make israel a better place for all ! israel of today remind me of the USA where there so much social unjustice ! israel who was once a socialist society became an ultra liberal model ! i want to see an israeli society with more solidarity and less individualism !!
26. Israel's social revolution is here!!!
Tzipile ,   Tel Aviv   (07.31.11)
Yeah... we can see the social revolution in Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and Italy. Thanks but no thanks...
27. Israel's Gov & the people are at fault
Nicolas ,   Los Angeles, USA   (07.31.11)
The policies of selling out the Israeli People to Foreign forces, which include but not limited to British, U.S. and Arabs are at fault. There's a movement abroad to build these wealth enclaves in Tel Aviv due to European oil companies wanting to over flow Israel with people who simply do not belong in that country but the protesters who want Israel to give up its land to Hamas and the PA are also at fault
28. Enough already
Zvi   (07.31.11)
These people should seriously read Atlas Shrugged. I'm not saying to adopt her ideas (although some are brilliant), but the book paints a damn good picture of what the state they want will turn into.
29. They want free IPADs as well. Viva la revolution!
Marxist   (07.31.11)
30. Send the bill to the US tax payers!
Misha   (07.31.11)
After all, we are exposing and exposing our lives to danger abd be the eyes anfd the arms of the US interests in the region. People will leave if not already left in no incentive and sacrifice from USA. Sorry take it or leave it!!!
