1. Spiegel quotes nobody
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (08.02.11)
They say, they were referring to an undisclosed source. I don't believe, that there is such source. It's a "test-balloon". The reaction on this report will help them to find out more. And just by the way: Everybody respects Mossad for its ability to achieve. This may be the reason, why so many believe, that this time it also is behind the incident.
2. BS, Iran killed all of them because of suspicion of sabotage
Marco ,   Spain   (08.02.11)
3. Der Spiegel has an anti-Israel editor
Frankie Littlehammer ,   New Herstal, TX, USA   (08.02.11)
Didn't Der Spiegel have an nonsense article about Norwegian murderer Breitvik's Israel connection? I think the only thing we learn from these Spiegel articles is that there is an anti-Israel editor at that rag.
4. So what else is new?
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (08.02.11)
Der Spiegel did not tell us much. Anyone with an ounce of brains could have deduced that Mossad, perhaps with US collusion, was behind that crime of murder in Iran. One day in the near future, however, Mossad will receive a big surprise in the form of a devastating blow.
5. Now! Der Spiegel wants attention
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (08.02.11)
Israel should start charging for PR. Someone should check and see if Iran is investing in Der Spiegel or not. They have invested in everything in Germany. This would not surprise me at all if this is instigated by them.
6. So, are we intended to be ...
John ,   Alaska   (08.02.11)
The article says this: "According to reports, the scientist was shot to death last Saturday while taking his daughter to kindergarten." Oh my, maybe Mossad not only shot a scientist to death, but did so while he was taking his daughter to kindergarten. So, is the reader intended to be angered by this phraseology? Is the article intended to paint Mossad as ruthless killers of scientists, people who turn kindergarteners into orphans? This reader is not enraged, nor is his opinion of Mossad negatively moved. The person assassinated was involved in helping a murderously unstable dictator obtain nuclear weapons. Whoever got rid of him did the world a favor.
7. It was the Mossad Squirrel that Did the Shooting
Hinda ,   SF Bay Area   (08.02.11)
Didn't the same paper come out that the Mossad had trained rodents to sabotage Iranian weaponry? And that was from an Iranian spokesman too. So make up your mind - if possible - was it a squirrel or was the assassin human?
8. Kindergarten Terrorism
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (08.02.11)
Sick invading minority Jews will do anything to dominate the majority Muslims in the region.
9. It makes sense...
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (08.02.11)
Who wants Iran's nuclear program dead? Who wants to attack Iran, but worried about the consequences? Who is known for assassinations?
10. der speigel-case
wiz of iz ,   montreal canada   (08.02.11)
So let us imagine that Iran needs a so-called identifiable news source to authenticate another anti Israel theory. ready able and more than willing is the speigel-cases who are no doubt on the take. Ah , money can buy you more than one may think, it can also deliver self serving ,thinly evidenced innuendos. Der speigel.....my eye!!!
11. history
Tom ,   bsas, argentina   (08.02.11)
Der Spiegel.... Der Stürmer.....
12. #1: But...
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (08.02.11)
When these same type of sources say something about Arabs, you're all ears and concentrating of every word.
13. So is the other Rezainejad alive or is killed by Iran to
Asher ,   NY,USA   (08.02.11)
cover the Iranian version of the story? The poor guy is either killed by Iranian authorities or has to live as a shadow for at least as long Larijani is in charge.
14. These papers always quote a "Mossad insider"
William ,   Israel   (08.02.11)
but there is no "mossad Insider" because anyone who knows anything keeps their mouth shut.
15. Iran demands UN investigation?
William ,   Israel   (08.02.11)
Why would Iran consider a UN investigation in to the murder when they don't accept the UN investigative results on the Hariri assassination?
16. Qatar 2022
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (08.02.11)
The Iran-Israel imbroglio can be solved. Imagine it is the year 2019. A road network links Tehran to Jerusalem. It is possible to drive between the two great cities in a not too difficult manner. The security situation in the Middle East has stabilised since the dark days of the late Twentieth and early Twenty First Century. The trust building initiatives that took place in mid August 2011 were pivotal catalysts. Both countries realised that continued enmity was not the way forward. The Iranians realised that pushing the envelope of nuclear weapons aspiration was a dangerous game. Whilst the Israelis realised that the situation of them having a hostile Persia so close to their door was something they could help change. The visit of Ayatollah Khamenei, President Ahmedinejad and their advisors to Jerusalem to attend high level trust building meetings in the latter half of 2011 were crucial. An International Peace Conference took the place of the stalled NPT Meeting, the UN General Assembly and various other meetings. The world applauded the fact that the leaders were showing courage at the highest levels. People knew that the countries in the region were not out of the woods just yet, but a path was now open. In other news, both nations’ football federations were preparing for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar in 2022. P.S. When assessing relationships with other people and nations it is crucial to look at the totality of their being. To redeem another you must first recognise the good and evil in them. It then is about the sefirotic qualities of kindness, severity, wisdom, judgment etc. being applied in the right measure. Sometimes it is necessary to completely eliminate or block a dark intention that may lead to increased evil. Conversely to this, blocking a good intention or the chance for increased connection between two parties is bad. One should not throw the baby out with the bathwater so to speak. A nation has a character all of itself. Character traits are not set in stone. A nation like an individual can self actualise.
17. I love it...Truth is never the answer..the answer is always

18. how der spiegel?
les ,   canada   (08.02.11)
i am quoting a reliable german intelligence source, saying all this information coming from a phone hacker, who mistakenly hacked a iranian diplomat's mobile phone. so der spiegel, the story must be true..:))

21. Those who know don't talk. Those who talk don't know.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.02.11)
Such reports from unnamed "intelligence sources" are near worthless.
22. mossad
joel ,   usa   (08.02.11)
not a surprise since the spirit of hitler is pretty strong amongst the germans, and the jews are their targets!
23. true or not
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.02.11)
if all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail. the iaf wants to bomb iran's nuclear facilities, because that's what the iaf does. in fact, bombing may not be the most effective option, and involves significant risks, including failure. even if this (unsourced, unconfirmed) story is untrue, it is still correct, in it's assumption that the mossad has a better chance of preventing iran from obtaining nuclear bomb capability.
24. It's high time Der Spiegel looked long
Mirror, mirror   (08.02.11)
and clear into the Spiegel !
25. PALLYWOOD STRIKES AGAIN
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.02.11)
Yes I'm sure the Mossad typically talks with German reporters after an operation, and explains the details, uh OK. What a joke!! Der Spiegel as we all know has the inside track with the Mossad. They just love to be debriefed by reporters. As the paper states: "The article, which quotes an Israeli intelligence source' Sure it does, look at the author Assaf Uni, now there is a reliable source. But lacks intelligence.
26. The intelligence that is not intelligent
Ted   (08.02.11)
cannot keep their mouths shut to media and restrain from discussing their next moves with fiction writers. In this case, it sounds like gossips.

Talula ,   Israel   (08.02.11)
If there's any killing around the world, it seems only Mossad are prime the suspects. What an awesome country we are.
