1. Shelters to be closed?
Spencer ,   Israel   (08.02.11)
This sounds like some beuracratic mistake was made regarding the tenders. Don't let this detract from the safety and welfare of the victims who have been given refuge in these shelters. The Government needs to look into it's heart and not look for excuses to let beuracracy triumph
2. Sometimes mistakes happen...
solomon ,   bklyn   (08.02.11)
Kol ha'kavod to Nahum Itskovitch, an extremely rare type of bureaucrat who actually admits it was a mistake. This is as common as the dodo bird or passenger pigeon (both extinct birds). Sadly, I doubt any other politician will follow his lead.
3. This country can not afford battered women's shelters..
Jew1 ,   Ashdod   (08.02.11)
It has to provide for those yashiva students and for all those non working religious families.. Who has any money left of such a stupid cause?

shelters. The cost of emergency health care for the victims of violence, who usually endure their plight for many, many years before they can/dare/manage to leave the perpetrators, will multiply if you do not offer shelter for these women and children who really need it. Take them to safety, and save money!

If the government makes any cutbacks in any sector unless its hurting the rich then people will be out protesting the next day.

Your bigotry and hatred of women are deplorable. 21 million shekel are spent by the welfare ministry funding 13- shelters who save the lives and sanity of hun dreds of women annually. I f you write out of ignorance, study the subject matter carefully and on Yom Kippur say the standard: Ashamti,Bagadeti, Chatati.
