1. Stay out of Israel's internal affairs!
Vlad   (08.05.11)
And I thought you resigned, Erekat!
2. Baloney!
Ron Jones ,   Boston, USA   (08.06.11)
Hey Erekat -- stop the whining and accept the Jewish State. Make Peace. Then Har Homa, as well as the security wall and everything else you say is illegal, can be dismantled. The Israelis have done exactly that before and they can do it again.
3. Erekat - Ashton..What prospects?
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.06.11)
''new settlements damaged the prospects for peace'' Maybe PA and Hamas kid's television damage the prospects? Maybe the Charters of both the above that call for the destruction of Israel damage the prospects? The settlements were never an issue until recently - "Palestinian" excuse-mongering against peace Maybe Ashton should allow herself a fact finding mission alongside Dr Jacques Gauthier!
4. LOL - Devorah called it!
John ,   Alaska   (08.06.11)
in talkback 11 for the prior article on this excellent move. Wow - Ms Ashton is not just "concerned" but "profoundly disappointed"! Israel is definitely doing the right thing, then.
5. Fatah thugs like Erekat breaking law for decades, so what?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.06.11)
The only difference between Erekat and Pinocchio is that Erekat's nose doesn't grow when he lies. Too bad, since Erekat would be walking around with a permanent foot long shnozzola. Erekat and his Palestinians have spent their lifetime breaking international law and committing war crimes. Every major human rights organization says so. Of course we're annexing Jerusalem. Of course Erekat doesn't like it - since his Fatah is trying to take it over under the big lie called "Palestine". There never were Arabs called "Palestinians" until 1967. There has never, ever, been an Arab country called "Palestine". Israel didn't "steal" or "occupy" Palestine because there is no such thing. The local land is indeed disputed, but Erekat is simply another in a long line of Arab liars trying to usurp the legal Jewish ownership of our homeland.
6. I am "profoundly dissapointed" with the barrage of Kassams
canada ,   canada   (08.06.11)
that the EU keep allowing to smash into Israel.
7. An advice for Mrs. Ashton
FO ,   Belgium   (08.06.11)
I would advise her to have a serious look into the video on You Tube made by Danny Ayalon. If she woud have some doubts about the veracity of its contents, let her take advice by top experts in International Law, and realize her ignorance about fundamental historical facts.
8. Erekat: Har Homa project illegal
Yonatan ,   Yerusalem   (08.06.11)

9. for every attack build one house

11. ashton & erekat.
sjoerd ruurd ,   world(-wide)   (08.06.11)
after reading this well-thought article, this time catherine ashton and saeb erekat have a point(, i thought).
12. The annexation of non-sovereign ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.05.11)
... territory is not illegal. Do not forget that Israel acquired East Jerusalem (which was formally united with West Jerusalem in late June, 1967) in the course of fighting a defensive war against Jordan. Israel is therefore well within its rights to occupy, settle and even annex such non-sovereign territory. This is a basic principle of law. Non-sovereign territory -- by definition -- does not belong to any country. Moreover, the ersatz "Palestinians" had no fewer than three opportunities to accept a two-state solution including, most recently, one which would have granted them 90% of the West Bank and East Jerusalem as a capital. They rejected all three. Their intent is clear -- they do not wish to live peacefully side-by-side with Israel; they want to supplant Israel. What better proof than their constant refusal to recognize the State of Israel; and acknowledge Israel's essential identity as a Jewish state and -- most importantly -- their adamant refusal to repudiate their vile charters, which call for the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination and/or expulsion of the Jewish people? Most recently, we saw the rapprochement with Hamas, a hard-line rejectionist organization with ties to Iran, that makes no secret that its goal is the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jews. There is no longer any point in keeping of the pretense that there can be any negotiated agreement with the ersatz "Palestine" Authority. Israel has no choice but to annex Judea and Samaria in its entirety. When that happens, its Arab residents (those who did not qualify for Israeli citizenship when Israel unified Jerusalem) will be repatriated to the hellhole of their choice: Jordan, whose citizenship they hold, or Gaza. They are free to build an ersatz "Palestinian" state in the latter.
13. And you Zionists wonder why the PA goes to the UN
Leon ,   Algonquin Land   (08.06.11)
Actually, most of you don't care and you absolutely wish that they would move to Jordan. That ain't gonna happen. The settlers are solidifying a one state solution. Welcome to your solution.
14. Illegal? Never!
Nigel ,   Israel   (08.06.11)
The Israeli Government has started to wake up: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4101347,00.html
15. Catherine Ashton
Ric ,   Gosport, UK   (08.06.11)
You can ignore Baroness Catherine Ashton. She is an over-promoted mid-grade functionary whose grasp of history appears to peter out around 1988 - not even 1967, let alone 1948, 1917 etc.
16. Muslim entity has no respect for Israel's right to exist
Erekat   (08.06.11)
17. When the British cease construction in London, when the...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.06.11)
Americans stop all construction in Washington, DC, when the French bring to a halt all housing construction in Paris, when Ottawa ends its housing activity in Canada's capital, then and only then, we, Jews, will consider not building our homes in our capital city of Jerusalem. Note, Jerusalem has been the capital city of the Jewish people for more than 3,000 years, the capital city of ancient Israel and the capital city of the nation-state of the Jewish people, the State of Israel. It has never been, by contrast, the capital city of any other people or any other state, ever!! Instead of condemning the building of homes of Israeli Jews, people of good will should condemn the attempt to destroy life and peoples homes by those firing rockets at the Jews of Israel nearly daily, but of course, the EU, UN, Russia, and the US as well as the PLO are all silent about it. One wonders, why...??
18. LADY ASHTON" PROFOUNDLY DISAPPOINTED"
Brant ,   Hilton Head USA   (08.06.11)
Well, that's OK, Catherine, many of us are profoundly disappointed in your lack of balance vis a vis Israel. As for Erekat,. is he the Chief Palestinian Negotiator or the Chief Accuser. The man NEVER negotiates. He demands and loses; demands and loses... demands and loses...
19. Israeli Unilateralism - Good, PA Unilateralism - Ba
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (08.06.11)
The project is intended to prevent any hope for a peaceful negotiated settlement. It is doing as intended. Netanyahu puts our rumors that he wants talks, but that would collapse his government if it was done in good faith. Hence the unilateralism intended to get the Palestinians not to show. Netanyahu also told Al Arabiya all kinds of stuff directly the opposite of what he told Congress. This diverts from any need for clarification. Now,how to figure how to expel 4-5 million? The next most important issue and how to get Obama to foot the bill for that.
20. updating #1
daze ,   US   (08.06.11)
erekat did resign, went back to law school and now uses words like illegal. Truth is , he never left, like a fungus, he is hard to get rid of. But as always, he is there to get his share of handouts from the eurotrash, and the US taxpayer
21. Who owns non-sovereign land?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.06.11)
I will tell you. The country that acquires it in the course of fighting a defensive war against the aggressor. That would be Israel. The ersatz "Palestinians" are just going to have to go. It isn't as if they haven't had seven decades to repent. Too late now. Hope they enjoy Gaza. Wow. What a singularly deserving future for terrorist scum.
22. Erekat, try to be a man. Debate Ayalon on Judea/Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.06.11)
If Erekat is really convinced that Judea and Samaria don't belong to Israel, he'd jump at the opportunity to debate Danny Ayalon on the subject. Instead, Erekat issues a pathetic press release and runs like a chicken. Erekat, try to be a man. Debate Ayalon, before the world. In the near future, Erekat, and his ilk, will have to face the fact that Palestine is fictional. They can run but they can't hide. Fictional Palestine is about to blow sky high.
23. ms. ashton
(08.06.11)
the world is burning up, have you not noticed???? look at syria. are you and your buddies in europe the least bit concerned that over 2,500 innocents died at bashar assad's hands? are you a bit concerned that england is going down financially or that your buddies in europe, irland, portugal, spain, italy, greece and many more are going under? you really think that 900 apartments in israel will change all of this? look at syria. what are you doing for the innocents there being slaughtered? are there any un and unsc resolutions? no? i wonder why? are there any military intervemtions there by nato? no? yes, i know...syria has no oil so the citizens can go on and die. i see now....interests (your need for oil) first, then humanity (coming to the syrians' rescue). any un and human rights watch or any un commission to investigate these murders by bashar assad? any new goldstone commission for syria yet??? no??? no jews involved, this is why. nothing to do with israel, so no commission, right? please shut your stupid mouth before you utter any of your concerns, ms. ashton. you look and sound ridiculous! you incompetent fool.
24. Middle East is on fire, they find time to deal with nonsense
Marco ,   Spain   (08.06.11)
25. Erekat, Ashton, EU - are hypocrates
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (08.06.11)
Erekat keeps no rules or agreements, just a big liar. Ashton, EU, alway seem to find time to criticise Israel, even though millions of people are starving and facing death.
26. Un-natural pre-occupation by EU, UN to appease Pal/Arabs
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (08.06.11)
There is an un-natural pre-occupation by the EU and UN to constantly appease the "Pal/Arabs", and constantly criticise Israel. This effort comes with a price and consequences. In the meantime, people are starving in Africa, while the whining Arab/Pals get all the un-natural attention that should really go to the people in real need.
27. Rockets fired into Israel from Gaza are okay ?
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (08.06.11)
The criminal Erekat and "Pal/Arabs" think it's okay to fire rockets into Israel Are these rockets to foster normal peaceful relations ? Where is Ashton's, EU, or UN protests and outrage at the "Pal/Arab" rocket shooters.
28. EU and Isreal
joel ,   usa   (08.06.11)
THE EUROPEANS SHOULD STOP MEDDLING IN THE AFFAIRS OF ISRAEL, OK, THEY HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS THEMSELVES JUST LIKE THE RECENT BOMBING IN NORWAY, THEY SHOULD SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS; THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS WITH ISRAEL'S INTERNAL AFFAIRS!
29. erekat
alex ,   ashkelon israel   (08.06.11)
#1 do you really think he give up millions of $ a year profit ? you think twice
30. Har Homa
Brod ,   USA   (08.06.11)
Har Homa is in the Land of Israel. Period! AntiSemite Ashton and Islamist-Jihadist Erakat should shut up and go back to their own countries in Londonistan and Arabia where they came from. They are nothing but usurpers trying to usurp the Land of Israel from the Jewish Nation.
