31. To No. 27
Gabe ,   Canada   (08.09.11)
It is easy for you to talk about peace from Sweden. If you wish to understand what "Arab Peace" means, look at Syria or any of those other "Peaceful Arab" states.
32. #27 Arabs are NOT pursuing 2 state negotiated solution
Doug ,   Wales   (08.09.11)
The Arab League's approach to the UN, using the Palestinian issue as the tip of their spear, is just another part of the Arab/PLO phased plan to eradicate the Jewish state. There is no negotiated settlement on the table, only the unilateral declaration of another Arab state on Jewish soil. All the issues, including Jerusalem, will remain unresolved. The Arab leadership itself admits that this is just a ploy to gain further delegitimization and isolation of Israel within the international community. It has nothing to do with peace or any 'solution'. Abbas went to the Arab League a few months ago for their support in a Pan-Arab war against Israel. He has declared that any 'Palestine' will be ethnically cleansed of all Jews. The charters of Hamas, Fatah and the PLO's phased plan all state what is the process and agenda here. Don't be taken in by the propaganda and political spin.
33. UN is 'sister organisation' to the Arab League.
Jane ,   UK   (08.09.11)
The UN have no idea what international law actually states about Judea and Samaria, as like a pre-arranged conspiracy the Arab/Islamic world has seized every possible opportunity via the UN to carefully choreograph, manipuate and pursue an agenda that seeks to attack, undermine and delegitimize the Jewish state through the passing of resolution after resolution. Subsequently they cannot decide where the goal of destroying Israel ends and where the Palestinian seeking of statehood beings - the truth of course being that they are inextricably linked. It is amazing that the UN and any resolutions were of no consequence to the Arab/Islamic world in 1948 when it sought the genocide of the re-established state of Israel. While forbidding Israel any seat on the UN Security Council the same UN sustains its own “Palestinian Units,” including the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, the Division on Palestinian Rights, and the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories. The UN Human Rights Council is so obsessed with condemning Israel that it places the Jewish state as the only country listed on the Council’s permanent agenda and which is subjected to an investigatory mandate that examines the actions of only one side. Countries making up and heading this body have included Syria, Libya, Iran etc.. Is it any wonder the Palestinians are going to the UN. Is it any wonder that the UN is seen as a 'sister organisation' to the Arab League?!
34. # 21 Brod USA
Moragh   (08.09.11)
I've never agreed more fervently in my life. I was about to write it myself but decided first to read the talkbacks. You've quoted exactly as I would have. well done Brod.
35. Doug Wales
Moragh   (08.09.11)
Let's wait and see how far the arabs will get here. We should enjoy it, like all arab attempts at whatever, they'll hash it all up. And sit back and watch the European countries disappear one after the other. LOL! I really am enjoying all the fun that's buzzing around me! Are you joining the gang Salma?????
36. occupation
Markos ,   Ethiopia   (08.09.11)
I agree with the fact that the "occupation" should end, the occupation of muslim/arabs who claim Israel as their homeland and work hard and night to spoonfeed their children poisonous hatred & lies toward their children. Arab have the right to remain in that land only in the condition that they acknowledge Israel as a Jewish State. Palestine doesn't exist and there has NEVER been a sovereign state by that name anywhere on earth let alone Israel. Israel will forever belong to the Jewish people and one day, those will fight against Israel will bear their own shame.
37. the outcome will be the same no matter who is in charge
zionist forever   (08.09.11)
It doesn't matter who is in charge of the General Assembly the palestinians will easily get the support they want. They will probably have no trouble getting 100+ countries to support their bid for statehood. They have the entire islamic world in their pocket along with most of South America. Some parts of Africa and probably at least half the EU and possibly Russia & China although they are still unknowns. In the Security Council it doesn't matter who has the presidency, the only country that matters there is the US and their veto. A General Assembly resolution alone cannot legally create an arab state all it can do is pass a non binding resolution endorsing it. If they want to create a state which they can give full UN membership etc then they must also get support from the Security Council but as Obama is in an election season right now he will have no choice but to use the US veto. If Obama hadn't proven himself to be an enemy of Israel I might even feel sorry for him. Obama spent his entire presidency trying to appease the Muslims but come September he is going to have to side with Israel and the entire islamic world is going to hate him for it. He worked so hard to make his Muslim friends and now he is going to loose them all in one go... kind of puts a smile on your face
38. Watch all the arab boys of power
Moragh   (08.09.11)
try to have a field day once they take over the UN. Of one thing I am very, very happy and that is that it won't be long until the collapse of the UN entirely. In the first place, the boys that will be out of there chop chop will be happy to be rid of it... i.E. if they have a gramn of sense, which I doubt.
39. Why are we funding this deadbeat oil controlled ineffective
Nasrallah ,   Hezbolanon   (08.09.11)
organization that does little to nothing ? why are billions funneled here? How is Hezbolanon now president of the security council?
40. dismantle the UN
nadav   (08.09.11)
it is a useless, corrupt relic from the Cold War that no longer serves any purpose other than a meeting club for tyrants, dictators, totalitarian states and despots. the democracies of the world should withdraw and create their own UN for democracies only!
41. #13 - it worked well for Iran's A'jad
William ,   Israel   (08.09.11)
and Chavez...two of the largest egos on the planet today.
42. #22 - Whether you like it or not, Israel exists
William ,   Israel   (08.09.11)
we're sovereign, we're a UN member, and we have an immigration policy that doesn't involved being snuck in through a tunnel like your ilk. The only people who legally immigrated to "Palestine" was Arafat and his PLO under Oslo Accords....and look at how that mistake turned out.
43. #27 - why are you so full of hatred against Israel?
William ,   Israel   (08.09.11)
I never see you post on a "palestinian" news site nor ask the same questions / demands of "Palestinians". Yet, here you are, freshly arrived from your ivory tower, castigating Israelis for "not wanting peace". Check out polling among the populations, Haider. Majority of Israelis support 2-State solution, an end to the war, and finally coexistence. Conversely, a majority of "Palestinians" do NOT support a 2-State solution, believe any UN declaration should lead eventually to the replacement of Israel, and support violence against Israel and Jews. So - who doesn't want peace, Haider? Only in 2002 - a whole 82 years since Arabs began their genocidal attacks on Jews - did Arab nations put forth an initiative of land for peace. However, it doesn't include Hamas, Hizbullah, Al-Qaeda, PRC, Islamic Jihad, PFLP, nor even the PLO - so what good is it?
44. #29 - Did Lieberman come to Israel via Sinai?
William ,   Israel   (08.09.11)
Nope, right through the front door with a legal request for citizenship. You have a convoluted definition of "illegal immigrant" (together with your other convoluted definitions). You really should invest in a basic dictionary for $5. I'll even send you one for free. Israel is a valid State with its own sovereign policies including immigration. You'll never see visitors, even the most vile, come through tunnels or hiding in trunks of cars, like your ilk do. And if one must hide and sneak around, they can't be too legit, can they Salma?
45. Israeli's are funny
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (08.09.11)
The UN doesn't support your terror state, so you condemn the entire organization just like you do anybody or anything anti-Israel. If the UN was in favour of Israel, you'd all be praising it and probably calling it a gift from God. You aren't very good at taking critizism I've noticed. Well, seeing as how tthere is plenty to critizise with youre little country, maybe start getting used to it ;)
46. The "Palestine" argument is weak and makes no sense
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (08.09.11)
Palestine exists. Palestine existed while you were roaming the world, exiled for disobeying God. They have just as much right to continue live in their homes than any Jew from Europe, North America, ME, Africa, or South America. As to those saying Palestine never existed, then how does Israel exist today? Israel was formed as a Jewish homeland in Palestine. So, if Palestine doesn't exist, Israel doesn't exist. I don't see how Israel can exist a land that doesn't exist. So keep typing "Palestine" but don't forget "Israel".
47. #46
Jorge ,   Israel/USA/Argentina   (08.09.11)
Have you ever heard a country called Scandinavia, Balkans, Mesopotamia? They are regions, so "palestine" is a region not a country
48. hahahaha....
Mark Van Hoff ,   Belgium   (08.09.11)
I love to see Israel squirm like a worm...
49. To: No. 48
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.09.11)
Big talk from someone from a country sailing into bankruptcy. Where in the world would you be were it not for NATO, hmm? Israel has a highly developed technology-driven economy and you people have French fries and beer. Wow. Impressive.
50. #49 Belgium GDP per capita $42,000 Israel $26,000
(08.10.11)
Sweetie, in case you haven't noticed there are thousands of Israelis on the streets right now, protesting about the price of bread. Bread riots in Israel..
51. Israel Squirm like a Worm? #48

john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (08.10.11)
Just read the answers to your nonsense posts-you are not educated ,we know that, but you should at least learn from the answers to your posts and not repeat the same nonsense over and over again.Sarah B is a good example to learn from. Ynet-please post.
53. #49 Sarah B
facts   (08.10.11)
Belgium has a population of 11 million and is ranked 16th biggest exporter in the world. Israel has population of 7 million and is ranked 49th biggest exporter in the world. Belgium has more far exports per capita than Israel and far far far more than the USA Their main exports are machinery and equipment..
54. To: No. 53
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.10.11)
I'm sorry, but did you have a point in there somewhere? I missed it. What's "more far exports," anyway?
55. To: No. 50
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.10.11)
First of all, I'm not your "sweetie." Secondly, what would be Belgium's fate if NATO went bye-bye? Chew on that for a while; then get back to me. Oh -- that reminds me -- what about the Flemish? They're not really happy, now, are they? Bread riots in Israel? In your dreams.
