1. How will this play out?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.13.11)
I will tell you. The General Assembly -- given the rabble majority -- will give the ersatz "Palestinians" a "state." There will be much cheering and joy amongst the ersatz "Palestinians." A great many sweets will be passed around. Of course, the GA has no enforcement powers, so the issue will be presented to the Security Council. Lebanese president notwithstanding, the issue will be voted upon -- and vetoed. No more ersatz "Palestinian" state. No more "negotiations" -- or so much as the suggestion thereof -- with Israel. Israel will, however, annex Judea and Samaria. It will no longer be non-sovereign territory. It will be part of Israel. And since a sovereign state has every right to decide who remains within its borders, all its Jordanian citizens will be repatriated to Jordan. There will be much joy and celebration in Israel. And this time, it will be the Jews passing around the sweets. The ersatz "Palestinians" are about to make yet another in an endless chain of really bad choices that has continued for seven decades. Sometimes, you just cannot protect people from themselves. Good riddance, anyway.
2. Abrogate the Oslo Accords.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (08.13.11)
Annex Area C, parts of B, & the Jordan Valley. Cancel fund transfers to the PA. Seal the border with Gaza. Instruct the Bank of Israel to cease shipments of Israeli currency to Palestinian banks. Declare Fatah personna non grata. The Palestinians in Gaza are Egypt's responsibility, the Palestinians in Judea & Samaria are Jordanians. Same with Jerusalem Arabs, they are Jordanians, no Israeli ID's. The Palestinians think they can make unilateral moves, well we can make it BI-LATERAL.
3. #1 Planet Earth to Sarah...
Nour ,   One-State   (08.13.11)
We Palestinians are not going anywhere! The sooner you believe it, the more likely you won't be checked into a mental hospital any time soon (you do require some form of hospitalization anyway). Repeat after me: PALESTINE AND PALESTINIANS ARE HERE TO STAY! Now get off your "steak" and do something productive for a change.
4. #2 Oh by all means annex the West Bank/Gaza
Nour ,   One-State   (08.13.11)
Annex away! And let's see who starts migrating back to Europe once we have the right to vote (which we will).
5. around the world take notice ...
Palestinian   (08.13.11)
6. Canaan/Palestine
Palestinian   (08.13.11)
hagana, stern and irgun gangs kids want to pass sweets around ,Will never happen as long as Palestinians in this world
7. ISRAEL HAS only 4 WEEKS TO ANNEX SAMARIA AND JUDEA, ETC.
JEWRUSALEM ,   Atlanta USA   (08.13.11)
WHY WAIT? FOR WHAT? SOME Foreigner's APPROVAL? since the beggars want to have one JEWless state, the hell with them! them! them! the hell with them!
8. Great, wonderful. A would-be state for a would-be people.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (08.13.11)
9. UN of Islamist-Jihadism
Brod ,   USA   (08.13.11)
The UN of Islamist-Jihadism is irrelevant and meaningless. Have NO fear at them. Abbas and his Islamist-Jihadist thugs want to stoke the fire for war against Israel as they had done in 1948, 1967 and 1973. Israel should insure that the next war that the Islamist-Jihadists wage against them will be the last war-because it is a battle to the finish. It is time to stop being harassed, persecuted and ravaged by the dark forces-Islamist-Jihadists and AntiSemites.
10. #1
Reshit Braun   (08.13.11)
Sarah B, acting the goat again. If Israel annexes the West Bank, then it will probably cease to exist. While moronic zionists like you exist, then there will not be peace in the Middle East. Hopefully you will be as active as a dinosaur soon, and so will be your philosphy. Sometimes, you just can't protect zionists from themselves. Ersatz that Baby!
11. It is high time, indeed, very high time the US, EU and...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.13.11)
their leaders understand: The core cause of the Arab Israeli conflict, local and regional, has nothing to do with "Jerusalem", "settlements", "borders", "refugees", "security" or "water"; it is rather the total and categorical refusal of the Muslim-Arab world - not the Christian-Arabs, not the Druze-Arabs, mind you!! - local and regional, the PLO included of course, to accept Israel's very RIGHT to be - and not only the FACT that it is - to exist as the independent nation-state of the Jewish people on ANY parcel of land between the River and the Sea. Thus, instead of focusing on symptoms of the conflict, be they what they may, the US, EU and their leaders must first and foremost demand of the Muslim-Arab leadership, the PLO included, to accept Israel's right to be, to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people, and to view a peace treat, once concluded, as the "end of the conflict and the end of all future demands". The fact that the Muslim-Arab leadership has been refusing to accept the above, for many, many decades, should give the US, EU and their leaders a clue as to the reason why peace is not presently within reach, and only the management of the situation is, until and unless the Muslim-Arabs are forthcoming.
12. #3 Nour - arab!
macktheknife   (08.13.11)
Ach nour, stop depending on Israel for your bread & butter. Why don't you get off your ass and try and help your pali brothers to steal a country from some other, maybe way out west. Or maybe even the sahara desert. i'm sure you know how to steal and use your hands to build. try INVADING some other country and leave G-d's chosen in the land he gave to them FOREVER. It's called ISRAEL.
13. Been meaning to ask this for ages
Moragh   (08.13.11)
Who took a wrong aim at Abbas and instead of hitting his loud mouth the top of his right hand 4th finger took the bullet? Shame. He/she wasn't a good "shooter"!
14. @ 1
Hakim ,   Palestine   (08.13.11)
You did not have to steal Palestine to make your smelly Jewish homeland you troll.
15. So what. Who cares. A total non event
DT ,   TA Israel   (08.13.11)
16. #4 Nour, No-State.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (08.13.11)
Only Area A has an Arab population, Area C has virtually no Arabs, B only a few, the Jordan Valley is virtually empty. You can vote in Jordan.
17. Congratulations!!
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (08.13.11)
From a Jew and a Zionist, I applaud the Palestinian leadership on this decision, and sincerely hope it bears fruit. Israel had a unique opportunity to reach a final status agreement, but the current administration did everything it could to mothball whatever peace process there was. We all know that a two-state solution is the ONLY possible outcome of this circus. We could have had it on our own terms, but now it will--sooner or later--be imposed on us. I live for the day when Israel and Palestine will finally live side-by-side in something approaching du-kiyum. It happened in many other places; it will eventually happen here, too.
18. A Fata Morgana will NEVER become a
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (08.13.11)
reality...so beat it...!!!
19. Thank you for the laugh Sara B.
Jon ,   Baltimore US   (08.13.11)
" a sovereign state has every right to decide who remainswithin its borders " is a blatant attempt to justify ethnic cleansing. If you seriously believe that the world is going to allow that you are sadly mistaken. They have let Israel push families out of their homes and take away the citizenship of individuals because the court system has been used to do it. Israel has at least been able to claim some kind of due process, even if the world knows it is a completely biased system. Trying mass expuslions will lead only to war and unfortunately will drag the US into it as well because it will not stop at one border. Maybe that is what you hope for but it is so ludicrous one can only hope you are not serious.
20. Obama to veto in September of 11?
Lisa ,   Ca, USA   (08.13.11)
Why should USA do that? If Israelis want to live in area surrounded and surrounded by Arabs, Israelis should make peace not wars. The 2 states solution is the only way.
21. # 11 Right on.
Nancy ,   Halifax, NS Canada   (08.13.11)
22. A Palestinian State
Judith Almog ,   Kibbutz Gezer   (08.13.11)
The Palestinian state can be in Egypt or Jordan, where it should be. Know one ever talks about the Jewish refuges that were thrown out of their houses in 1947. Israel is here to stay where we are!
23. Missing the Bigger Picture
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.13.11)
What better way to unite the fractured, deeply divided Arab/Islamic nations busy with internecine fighting among themselves than an attack on Israel to defend the 'rights' of fellow jihad clan,Palestinians. Israel needs to get of the tainted false peace mothers milk of her mamma, America and get read for the mother of all months,September.
24. time for peace israelis
NadMan ,   Palestine   (08.13.11)
Hello, i think people of israel should really take the chance of Palestinian's bid in the UN to finally reach for peace. Palestinians take the west bank and gaza, and Israelis take the rest, (more than 78% of historical palestine" so you have to consider the sacrifice Palestinians are making towards peace... so i am sending a message to my jewish friends all over the world... its time to make a historical change, make pressure on your Govt. to accept the Palestinian state, and stop settlements in 67 lands... its all for your sake peace will help you, before arabs and muslims become one and unite with each other just like they were before and destroy what so called israel under the control of the racist bibi.. PEACE
25. Watch fictional Palestine blow sky high.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.13.11)
The P.A. already declared statehood back in 1988. So why are they planning to do it again? We all know how their 1988 declaration turned out. What makes them think it will be different this time? Actually, it will be different. The second P.A. declaration of fictional statehood will be an even bigger fiasco than their 1988 declaration. In 1988, there were less than 300,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria. Today Judea/Samaria are an an irreversibly successful, community of 700,000. With almost total support from Israel and our friends worldwide. Watch fictional Palestine blow sky high for the last time. After this monstrous fiasco, nobody will ever take Palestine seriously again.
26. To: No. 4
Sarah B. ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.13.11)
It's good to wake up every morning with a dream and as if your hair were on fire. Just make sure that fire doesn't consume you. The one you are pursuing will.
27. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.13.11)
You need a history lesson. Go back as far as you like in the Ottoman records -- the only people ever referred to as Palestinians were the Jewish people. The same held true for the Mandatory period. You lot were always only referred to as Arabs or Bedouins. You co-opted our idenitity. You have never had an original thought in your entire so-called "history." Canaanite? Prove it. I need to see the records. Good luck with that one.
28. #33 Nour - Reality check
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.13.11)
You may be here, but you will NEVER bein a country that goes by the name of Palestine, these are the facts, digest them The General Assembly does not have the authority to create binding law by a simple vote. It is not a global legislature, just as the UN is not a world government. Its resolutions are symbolic. Never mind the fact that the UN charter never gives the General Assembly such authority. Just think about it: Does anybody believe that in creating the UN, sovereign states like the U.S. and the Soviet Union handed over their own sovereign authority to a body in which tyrannical regimes and democratic ones, friends and allies, get an equal vote? That if, one day, the General Assembly decides to grant independence to Quebec, or Minnesota, or the Confederacy, that suddenly it will be binding on all member states, including Canada and the U.S.?
29. #4 Nour - No state-No way
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.13.11)
Accustom yourself to the idea, put down your hash pipe and return to reality The General Assembly does not have the authority to create binding law by a simple vote. 30. #9 Palestinian ? We will notice
BENJABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.13.11)
