Yisrael Medad ,   Shiloh, Israel   (08.15.11)
While I am glad the population figures are at least 20% higher than known until now (actually less than 300,000 in E. Jlm and maybe 333,000 in Judea&Samaria), how much worse would prices of housing be if they were all living within pre-67 Israel? how much worse environment, etc. etc.?
32. Come again?
Yaacov ,   KY   (08.15.11)
That is a ridiculous title. If the settlements were not in existence the people living there would still be alive, in Israel proper, and in the same socio-economic condition. So what is the point of the study? Does the OECD have political goals?
33. Wast of tax payers money on the illegal settlements
Haim ,   TA   (08.15.11)
The results of which we are now seeing in the social protests currently sweeping the country. The right wing goverment puts all their resources in to the illegal settlements and infrastructure and forgets the rest of the country.
34. Re: Bunnie Mayer
John Rule ,   Portland, United Sta   (08.15.11)
Bonnie, which yesha act as this buffer zone against Hamas rockets? Is is Modi'in? Is it Ariel? Is it Kfar Tapuach? Or is it a profound and woeful ignorance ignorant of geography that caused you to say that?
35. According to the Arabs, "settlements" include Tel Aviv,
Chaim ,   Migron   (08.15.11)
Haifa, Jerusalem, Beersheba and Afula.
36. An In depth Analysis..QE1,2,.....QE3
(08.15.11)
Let me have the Economic 101 OECD rules. The recent reports by the same organisation about the economic health of Europe, do not bogg well for its credibility. Well, I don't know what Economic system do they base their findings on the Israel's case: is it the Keynsian, the Friedmanian, or just a make as you go smart-system. Everything that is so 'progressive' has to have 'smart' description beside it... like smart phone, smart tablets, smart people and that is restricted to the white-European...mind you the Indians, Japanese and Chinese economies would have still be in the middle ages had it not be for their own bootstrap. Its funny that who ever does not produce anything of substance becomes a critic. Economy, as we know from the elementary schools, is not a science. It depends on various elements. Leadership, consensus of the National aims. These days, the problem of USA is lack of determined and visionary Leadership, which Israel as aplenty.
37. this article.
(a) wonder ,   in the free world   (08.15.11)
this article by sever plocker is , interesting, for it gives insight in the zionistic economy.
38. Do the settlements aid Israel's security?
Peterson ,   London UK   (08.15.11)
#1 for Israel has to be security. Economy; recognition etc all rank below security.
39. Lets just keep Savyon - return everything else to the Arabs
Yael ,   Rishon   (08.15.11)
that way we will be one of the richest nations on Earth. Lies, damn lies and OECD statistics
40. Sever Plocker wins a dunce cap for this.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (08.15.11)
Now Sever, go stand in the corner wearing your dunce cap until class is over, then write on the blackboard 10,000 times, ''I won't write stupid biased articles anymore.''
41. god save us because this settelrs....
riko   (08.15.11)
now everybody know this.. god is the king...
42. #21 - in May 2010, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu touted
seadog1946 ,   Arthur Kill, NJ   (08.15.11)
the economic benefits of membership. The current Israeli administration hasn't stop crowing about finally being invited to join and becoming a member of the OECD.
43. Judea and Samaria make Israel viable.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.15.11)
This is transparent, politically motivated rubbish. It takes only a glance at a map to prove Israel is not viable without Judea and Samaria. Moreover, Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel. Even today, Israeli military planners realize Judea and Samaria are the safest part of Israel, in the event of an attack on Israel's thin densely populated coast. Imagine how high America's average income would climb if they gave away the entire nation - except for Hollywood, Beverley Hills, the Hamptons and a few other affluent enclaves.
44. it is not statistics
(08.15.11)
statistics must be on a right base as if you have two states one is with a--wbjolansettelments-.other without and other factors will be stable on both i do not study statistics but i know it is logic to compair

Ayeush ,   Gibraltar   (08.15.11)
Sorry, I failed to identify myself, still I am behind the content of the TKBK 100% Good day!
46. Conjured Stats

Bla bla bla. We're not giving back an inch so move along with your stats. It doesn't interest us
47. To Sever Plocker
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (08.15.11)
Since when it is damaging to a statehood to take its land back..? Per capita loss of income ? Maybe for a little while it won't be profitable..But it's our land ! Jews will populate it, will build on it...Who do you think you are, Plocker? Will it be more rewarding to leave it for palis, who'll make some training camps on it ? All of Jerusalem and vicinity is the sacred Jewish land, including all of the West Bank and all of the Golan Heights...Talking of inequality ? We have been subjects of inequality way long enough...It is our time now to apply that rule to our advantage, Mr.Plocker...And when it comes to taking back what is ours, who cares anymore about the initial decrease of per capita income or what the world will say ! .. But can you ever evaluate the future benefits ? Guess not...Haven't we been there so many times and emerged victorious every instance ?
48. #33. Judea and Samaria are 100% legal.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.15.11)
#33. You can't make something true simply by repeating it over and over again. The Big Lie tactic doesn't fool intelligent people. Many of the world's foremost legal minds have proven Judea and Samaria are 100% legal. They include Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242, David M. Phillips, Professor at Northeastern University School of Law and countless others. The matter is settled. The facts are the facts, whether they suit your warped political agenda or not.
49. Notice how they deliberately forgot something
Vlad   (08.15.11)
The shops and factories of the settlements. But I guess when making a politically-motivated statement, facts don't matter.
50. oecd
steve ,   usa   (08.15.11)
well it lease there is no political bias at the OECD on its members almost universal pro- Fatah positions! Under this logic (using weighted averages instead of the more proper GDP) the USA would be fabulously wealthier overnight if it kicked out several southern states such as Mississippi and Alabama. But wait! the bloodiest war in American History, the Civil War was to keep the Union together even though they were the poorest states. This report would be improved by including as its writers any first year economics student. This is a pathetic propaganda tool dressed as a report.
51. Good point #9
sadfsdfasdfsdf ,   Earth   (08.21.11)
IDF killing palestinian children and destroying palestinian homes to make space to build in 'Judea' - what could be more natural?
52. Please Note
Jhonny Boy ,   USA   (08.21.11)
Please note that Israel is not a jewish state. Most israelis are secular and most jews are russian/slavic.
