Brian ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.16.11)

4. Suicidal,Stupid or Both

How did such fools rise up to leadership in the IDF. Did Ehud Barak's rub off on them ? Israel always gives goodwill gestures and never the Palestinians . This is stupid.

9. Jesus the messiah
cristian ,   buenos aires arg   (08.16.11)
the two peoples who actually lives in the holy land, jews and arabs,do not believe in yeshua as the mashiaj or isa as al masih but they both are killing each other for more than 60 years where it is supposed to be holiness,I ask both people what kind of holy you are? and do not start to speak about centuries ago because the most important is today and now-the present- cannot hear the voice inside which tells you what is wrong and what is right? guns and weapons to kill are made by the devil and israelites and palestinians are hearing and doing what the devil voice inside are telling them but the worst they both do not realize about it but israelites and palestinians do not believe in Jesus because the great satan have them blind and deaf playing with them as puppets, killing and dying each other they both do not realize they are living in hell of hatred, perdition, darkness, death and suffering,I know you cannot believe what you cannot see but you must believe what you can hear and if you are not dumb you must hear the two voices inside you telling you evil or good, that voice is your own voice since the beginning of life but it seems israelites and palestinians are without senses not hearing, not seeing and not speaking about it,wake up the great satan is playing behind the scene using and abusing beings as his puppets
10. "Confidence building" for would be mass murderers? Lunacy
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.16.11)
When one reads articles like this, it's impossible not to wonder what is wrong with the idiots who make these recommendations? They seek to build the confidence of our would be mass murderers. Our "Palestinian" foes don't even bother to hide their intent to mass murder us. It's on their P.A. TV every single day. It's in their school texts, on their public billboards...eveywhere. These people who make these lunatic recommendations are scarier than our enemies.
11. "Confidence measures"? Only if 100% revoked if attacks occur
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (08.16.11)
All this is great stuff only if it achieves the desired result. However, Barak is notorious for not thinking and planning ahead if "Plan A" doesn't work. If the Arabs launch September attacks regardless of these Barak "gestures", the government must then 1) cut back water supply below pre-gesture levels until the benefit is made up, 2) destroy any new desalination plant the PLO starts to build, and forbid future ones, 3) require PA students allowed to study in EU to return or be banned for life, 4) order the PLO to return any new arms they get as a gesture, or IDF will shoot armed PLO security men on sight, and destroy all their imported APCs, 5) return to Israel the 30 terrorist bodies Israel returned, or Israel will cremate the bodies of the next 30 terrorists who die in prison or are killed in attacks, and 6) demand that Barak resign - automatically if the PA attacks anyway. Israel must stop giving something for nothing!! These "gestures" have never accomplished anything for Israel, even once, so why do them??
12. IDF: Allow arms into West Bank
Avi ,   NYC US   (08.16.11)
The Arabs are going to the UN for their own state and Israel offers the goodwill gestures. God help Israel as she surely needs it with fools that are running the country
13. Haven't you learned from Czechoslovakia 1938?
Vlad   (08.16.11)
Appeasement doesn't work. It just encourages the enemy.
14. Yet another idiocy of Barak looking for a master,be it pals
ab   (08.16.11)
One forgets this military "genius" was useless during the Lebanon debacle, sources of which are to be found in his dispositions as the PM too.
15. Everybody: listen to "Epitaph" by King Crimson:
tom ,   tel aviv   (08.16.11)
especially the line: "The fate of all Mankind I fear is in the hands of fools".... sad-sad situation (that's Elton John). On one hand the mob thirsting for "Tahrir square"-Israeli style and on the other dupes that are hard to understand running our "security". Oy, what interesting times we live in!
16. IDF = THE NEW PATHETIC INSANE COWARD ARMY

David ,   Shiloh Israel   (08.16.11)
18. #6 Sorry Terry - I disagree with you...
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (08.16.11)
Stupidity is associated with clowns, who can also be entertaining. How many PA security forces have murdered Jews? This is more of a 'criminal' act. Anyhow, I know you alraedy know this, I just wanted to get it in!
19. This is absolute INSANITY
OMG ,   Israel   (08.16.11)
Who ever presented this needs to be fired IMMEDIATELY. They have no business being in such a position.
20. Confidence building measures or suicide?

Mary Snow ,   USA   (08.16.11)
Dumb
22. they have 50 cals & assault weapons in the thousands
Yosi ,   Gilo-Jerusalem   (08.16.11)
enough to arm an army and they want to give them more? My sons and nephews and I will have to face these animals in an all out war and Barah thinks that its ok? Please, lets have elections soon, so that Barah will get no seats in the Knesset. Then maybe he'll run like he's done every time before.
23. Sounds like Barak's dream
William ,   Israel   (08.16.11)
In response to threats of violence, release hundreds of criminals and terrorists and heavily arm them. Well, that's one way to ensure the military budget remains uncut, Barak. However, now our healthcare budget will skyrocket with the newly injured due to your plan.
24. Told you that your leaders are stupid...
Hezbollah ,   Lebanon   (08.16.11)
25. The IDF Ok'd weapons from 1994-1999
William ,   Israel   (08.16.11)
and in 2000, they turned their weapons against us and killed and injured thousands of our citizens with their terror.
26. The IDF is a day late, and a dollar short
William ,   Israel   (08.16.11)
Had the IDF and govt made these confidence building measures in the past, as enticement to bring Abbas back to the negotiating table - with a public announcement (so he looked like a fool when he rejected them)... it would have made sense to pull them back or even just keep the concessions in place when the PA announced a UN bid and violence in September. However, now that you offer these concessions AFTER the UN bid and riot announcement, it looks like Israel is caving and the "Palestinians" have received the message that VIOLENCE WORKS, loud and clear. Besides, if Pallys could give up a very good life and freedom they had in 1999 based on Arafat's racist greed, then nothing will deter them from their inhumane actions. Nothing.
27. confidence building measures
ILetzter ,   TA   (08.16.11)
Unfortunately , the IDF's logic is based on naive and immature understanding of the Arab mind. we have seen that the Arab mentality is not governed with normal logical principles. The past has shown us the arms given or allowed to Pal police ultimately were used against Israelis.
28. WHAT! The state has not yet even been formed and
Harry Wright ,   UK   (08.16.11)
Israel already has a more than generous package to offer them! Unbelievable. Hm! Israel is waiting outside the maternity ward with present in hand for the new baby. Who woulda thunk! LOL!
29. its going to be out the frying pan & into the fire
zionist forever   (08.16.11)
Abbas will go to the General Assembly in September and he will come out of it with overwhelming support for the creation of a palestinian state. It will only be a non binding resolution. The fact its not binding won't matter to the arabs, they will have their parties and Abbas will be a hero giving him the legacy he wants so bad. Then once things start to calm down and they discover the settlers & IDF are still there, Israel still controls Jerusalem they are going to demand Israel leave the land the General Assembly gave them and when Israel says no they will say intafada. There will be a huge increase in rocket attacks from Gaza. There might be some bombs in Israel and Israeli arabs will probably riot. Once Abbas has been to the UN there will be no way to start talks again because the PA will have no incentive to talk and making any concessions to Israel will look like treachery if the UN has said it belongs to the arabs. Make the most of the next 24 days because come September 20 things are only going to go downhill.
30. Really
Michael Pielet ,   boca,Israel   (08.16.11)
Whoever wrote this nonsense should be tried for stupidity. If found guilty locked up for a long time, or sent to Ramallah.
