1. Over ? You lost Israel
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.20.11)
Egypt was culpable if not completely responsible for this attack against Israel and yet Israel is the one required to apologize. Israel should be the angry one and demanding more than an apology. This is a serious escalation and shows how easily Israel has been reduced to dhimmi, beggar status across the world. All the death worshipers of Islam have to do is threaten and the fearful, panic striken dhimmi's in Jerusalem wet their pants, apologize, retreat, run to Washington crying for daddy to save them. I wonder when the Israeli street is going to wake up and dump the cowards who couldn't stanp up to a flea and only talk tough ot deceive them ? The enemy and Israel's pseudo friends know they can push Israle around at will and that the quislings Netanyahu and Barak wil fold like a cheap suit.
2. More Egy troops with arms needed.
Gamal ,   Egypt/ Cairo   (08.20.11)
If Israel is so keen about its security, It would agree on amendment of the peace treaty with Egypt to allow for increase the number of Egyptian Army across Sinai armed with medium strength weaponry. Hopefully that is being cooked now behind the scenes.
3. Good Job by Israel
grod ,   USA   (08.20.11)
Israel sent a message to Egypt. Too bad a few more Eqyptians weren't termin ated. Next step is to send the population of Gaza into Sinai.
4. #3 keep dreamin babes :)

5. Trash
Gamal ,   Egypt/ Cairo   (08.20.11)
Such stupid silly comments makes people don't read this trash.
6. to 1 and 3
Egyptian ,   Egypt   (08.20.11)
Why Egypt is not responsible for the attack. We don't accept attacks against civilians. But if you lost 6 people we lost also six soldiers while they were doing their job. You as a country should protect your borders and until your investigation shows where the attackers come from. You want to start a war while sitting on the beach in sunny Florida. Israel created this situation in Gaza by withdrawing without proper arrangement. if you like population of Gaza this much you can invite them into Israel and maybe it will end the problems in the region. Maybe
7. i agree

9. Apologies not accepted!
Sarah ,   Cairo   (08.20.11)
Israel, you can't kill people then go say "Sorry" and you can't keep provoking your neighbors then claim you want to live in peace among them!! Next time you kill another Egyptian on our territory we would consider this provoking the peace treaty and a declaration of war! Enough is Enough!
10. God bless Israel
Copt ,   Cairo, Egypt   (08.20.11)
11. To #1 and #8
Monica ,   Cairo,Egypt   (08.20.11)
Dear No 8... as an egyptian,, OMG!!! your comment...your threat has just freaked me out!!!!!! I mean c'mon it's all your fault... how comes a great country like ISRAEL Can't just protect it's own borders except by conquering others lands?... or just to play games for the same purposes?..and now that's what i call an intention for abusing our land.... you made me laugh my head off really...and by the way..there have never been a time that there weren't a crisis between you and US!!!! Dear #1... Why so serious... why so much hatred? what do you want them to do... to take Sinai back??? is that what do you want them to do? what else? you want them to attack Egypt and what else kill all muslims? your bombs and your weapons don't differenciate between a muslim and a christian like me... it's our land.. and u have nothing to do with it's security and it's business ... if u that worried from Islam and Muslims that we live among them Hundreds of years.. and i'm already still livin and writin' why don't u just shut the fuck up and don't tell people what to do... and an advice for me... call Netanyaho tell him your opinion...
12. #1 Marcel, Egypt in chaos
David ,   NJUSA   (08.20.11)
Marcel, I think your comments are uncalled for, I say this respectfully, believe me. Egypt is very large and out of control, the government is not in complete control of the population. Be respectful of Egypts attempts to keep things quiet. They can make things much rougher for Israel than they already are. What would you say if Egypt warned Israel that any attack on Gaza would provoke an Egyptian response. Like Gamal said"its easy to bang away on your computer in sunny Florida but hard to live in the middle east". The realfault lies with the Israel g'vt who in their stupor never thought to beef up security when it broke down on the other side. Were the Isaeli commanders playing with themselves watching porn on computers or chasing young girls around the offices, Something is very wrong in Israel, where was the social justice for the dead and wounded. There ar as many enimies within Israel as outside. They need a new Governmet and not Tzipi the parakeet
13. #9 Terrorists wore Egyptian uniforms
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.20.11)
And passed through a border Egypt is tasked to protect. Both sides have responsibility in maintaining this peace treaty.
14. "Apologies Not Accepted!"
Rhonda Blender ,   Chicago, Illinois   (08.20.11)
I do not understand your response! Terrorists attacked Israel. The army responded. In the heat and chaos of the battle, Egyptian soldiers were accidentally killed. That should not have happened but it was in the heat of the chaos and not deliberately done. Israel has apologized. Why do you automatically go to saber rattling and threats of war that is harmful to both countries? Israel doesn't want war with Egypt and that is clear. Egypt can't afford a war with Israel- my goodness, your economy is in shambles right now. Why do you say such things? Build off of your democratic Arab Spring, stabilize your country so the tourists will return and create stability for yourselves. We wish you well. Peace.
15. idiots on both sides
ABE THE BABE ,   USA-ISRAEL   (08.21.11)
I spend most of my time havifng to in EGdeal with Leftist idiots but some of these talkbacks are showing me that we also have our share of idiots on the right. Didnt you hear what Daniel Pipes said that the best weapon against Islamofascism are good Moslems. Dont you realise that there are many people in Egypt who do not want to live under an Iranian style government. when a Moslem offers his hand ou to me I dont stab it sHAKE IT. Its time you learned the difference between Islamofacists and regular ordinary Moslems
16. Gaza should go back to Egypt!
jgarbuz ,   jgarbuz@netzero.com   (08.21.11)
Begin offered Gaza back to Egypt, but Sadat refused! Gaza is a bomb that was purposely left as a thorn in ISrael's side. Israel should have demanded that Egypt take Gaza back as part of the Camp David agreement, and be responsible for any attacks emanating from there. I don't know why Israel kept it! It should be part of Egypt.
17. #9 wow Idid not know there were jews in egypt ?
(08.21.11)
you kicked them all out ! I guess the next one to go will be the Christians ....
18. #11 sure ....and I am a muslim
(08.21.11)
19. #1 Marcel - excuse me, but you're wrong
Zvi   (08.21.11)
Israel properly apologized for the friendly-fire deaths of the Egyptian conscripts, just as it would have done had those men been Israelis or any other non-hostile troops. The IDF appears to believe that the terrorists operated near the Egyptians in order to draw fire against them, a tactic that is typical of Hamas and Hezbollah, which regularly use as human shields their own civilians, medics, hospital workers, NGOs and UN peacekeepers. Apologizing to Egypt for these friendly-fire deaths during a military operation against terrorists was absolutely correct and proper - a opposed to apologizing to Turkey for killing a bunch of jihadi terrorists on the Mavi Marmara, which would be ridiculous and stupid. Israel and Egypt are not close friends, but they do need to work together to ensure that their common interests in Sinai and along the Gaza borders are protected.
20. #3 grod: what kind of rubbish is that?
Zvi   (08.21.11)
No sane person wants Egyptian soldiers to be killed in friendly-fire incidents by Israelis. A "message"? Yeah, the message that it regrets the deaths and will do whatever it can to avoid a repeat. As for sending Gazans into Sinai - aside from the fact that Bedouin in Sinai have a right not to have a million and a half Gazans inflicted on them, I can't see how taking 1.5 million Gazans and scattering them along Israel's southern border would help Israel. What are you smoking?
21. #5 Yeah. Agreed.
Zvi   (08.21.11)
22. #9, #11
Zvi   (08.21.11)
Sarah: That's ridiculous. Every military force loses some people to "friendly fire". The Egyptian army loses people to friendly fire. So does the IDF. It's always a tragedy when your brave young men die accidentally, and it is totally appropriate for those who killed them accidentally to apologize and promise to work on ways to prevent it from happening again. You would be livid - legitimately so - if the Israelis had refused to apologize, eh? I hope that Israeli and Egyptian forces improve communication with each other in order to make this less likely to happen again, but this was neither a "provocation" nor deliberate. You SHOULD be angry at the PRC and their bosses in Damascus for using YOUR COUNTRY as a staging ground for terrorist attacks on your neighbors and for putting YOUR PEOPLE in danger by trying to use them as human shields. The PRC reports to Hamas, which reports to al-Assad, who rejoices when Egyptian soldiers are accidentally killed by Israeli friendly fire. #11 I don't think #8 was threatening anything. Sounds like #8 is worried that the Egyptian side will keep going with this. In any case, #1 isn't in Israel. He is in Florida. As for your tirade against Israel - you clearly don't understand Israelis at all. Or the relationship between Israel and Egypt, for that matter. You've been at peace with Israel for 3 decades, and were only at war with Israel for 3 decades before that. No Israeli leaders, and none of the Israeli people, have any interest in hurting Egypt or hurting you. Maybe it's time to let go of some of the hatred and fear, eh?
23. Egypt Is Not an Enemy
elizabethlynne ,   texas   (08.21.11)
War is chaos, and the IDF knows that the Egyptian people and the soldiers are not the enemy. They would not intentionally shoot them. An investigation will follow, and I hope by Egyptian authorities. It is quite possible that the soldiers were shot by the terrorists from Gaza. No matter how it happened, I would not believe that Israelis see Egyptians as enemies. There has been friendship between Israel and Egypt in the past, and i hope that there will be again. My heart goes out to the families of the Egyptian soldiers who were killed.
24. All you Egyptian talkbackers except for #10
Israeli 2   (08.21.11)
Are you actually writing from Tel Aviv?
25. Great Brother !
W.Ragab ,   Egypt   (08.21.11)
I totally agree.. God bless you.. :-)
26. Arabs plunge into paranoia&conspiracy mode as usual
HaifaGuy   (08.21.11)
Arabs love conspiracies; after all, behind every act, every event, every deed in this world that doesnt immediately benefit the Ummah, there's a rabbi, a settler and Uncle Sam with their subversive plans to destroy the great Muslim nation. Well, here's one more conspiracy for you, this time, a pretty plausible one: it's Uncle Bashar implementing his plan to divert world's attention away from his butchering of his own citizens. Sounds good? Probably not as interesting as blaming it again on the Jewish-American puppeteers. Arabs, grow up and own up to your own chaotic way of life. GROW THE ^#@#& UP!!!!!!
