Goodness, how far back do you go with the Montreal, Canadians? I myself am old enough to remember Maurice "Rocket" Richard.

Looks like Europe youngsters degrade very fast. In the past European countries was famouse for their culture, but now they are famouse by anti-semitism and stupid behaviour. Shame on them. And I want to add my 2 cents about Ajax. I am not a football fan, but I think it's very noble for them to call themselves Jews in the such an anti-semitic country. I also hope they win all the games against this morons.

You asked really strange question. Did you ever went to school? Did you learned a history? British English is not a dealect, because British English is an original language and it excisted before English speaking people came to Canada, America, Australia and New Zealand. Did you even know that British Queen Elizabeth II in fact, is the head of Canada's and Australian's and New Zealand governments?

that noble thought did not enter the issue, here. Nor is overt antisemitism the leading drive behind this sick slogan, not in the soccer stadiums anyway. The arab part of the population, otherwise unable to learn and incorporate anything western, took to the chant rather quickly, however, and uses it in a rather different way.
35. Blah, blah, blah, Sara!

Football, means a game played with FOOT, not with HANDs that carry a strange ball! If you wanna play something with HANDS, try HANDBALL, wich no allow players to kick the ball. Now, BASEBALL!? Except Cuba, Puerto Rico, Canada and Japan, who else care about... This sport? I tried many times to watch it on ESPN... Even attend to a game in Cleveland, but trust on me, I slept! Also, you included hockey as one of yours preferences... Can a pro retire when get old with all the original teeth? Very easy and calm sport, uh?
36. To #19 JT: It is real anti-Semitism and some figures
Esther ,   Netherlands   (08.31.11)
Those chants are used against all Jews, especially by arab youths. Even in my mixed, but predominantly 'white' neighbourhood streets and schools.. It is very, very painful and also very threatening for us Jews to hear the chant 'we go on Jew chase' and 'hamas, hamas, Jews to the gas', whether it is meant literally or not. The Jews who are recognizable as Jews are constantly harassed by Dutch and arab youths alike and there are a lot of neighbourhoods were it is inadvisable to wear a kippa, or even a magen david on a necklace. And that while most Dutch people have never even met a Jew. On a population of 16,000,000 are 48,000 Jews or 0.3% of the population. On that same population are 1,800,000 muslims or over 10% of the population. In Amsterdam, where 44% of the Dutch Jews live, they make up 3% of the town's population. Muslims make up 32% of the inhabitants of Amsterdam. And even this tiny minority is not left in peace but has to keep quiet and unrecognizable. The police should have acted much earlier on the chants. On the bright side: they watch over synagogues and other Jewish congregations on the High Holidays and they keep a watchful eye out on the Shabbat. It's only such a tragedy that this is necessary.

Let's agree to disagree then. I could care less about what soccer hooligans call to eachother, but I do feel they don't exactly use these chants in the same way as these Arab youths, who use it specifically to hurt us and sometimes I even feel they mean it as a promise, of sorts. I honestly never ever encountered a negative reaction to my being jewish from any part of the 'natives' around here, and I know them from every corner of society. In Amsterdam, the police SHOULD have done more to protect the jewish buildings, and I lay a lot of blame here on mayor Job Cohen, who, for reasons passing understanding, consequently went to drink tea with the moroccan communities after every arab related antisemitic incident, while pointedly ignoring us. Talking about your self-hating jew, who are, I maintain, much more dangerous than your average anti-semite when it comes to dealing with slamming Israel and jewish culture, because they tend to be taken much more seriously than the rest of us, BECAUSE they are jewish It should also be noted that the christian community contribute greatly to the securing of some of our premises.
38. Its no antisemitism
Harry ,   Amsterdam, NL   (01.08.12)
This isn't antisemitism. Its just trying to insult the other team. Don't make things bigger then they are. If something fuels antisemitism its this attention seeking and self victimizing behaviour.
