1. Only people who operate based on emotions, rather than...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (09.04.11)
...rational thinking, shoot themselves in the foot, and even cut their noses despite their faces. The present leadership, especially the prime minister, of Turkey is one such person. The people who will suffer from his non-rational moves will end up being the Turkish public.
2. In the end it could be Turkey that's isolated
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (09.04.11)
The US is certainly not pleased with Turkey's increasingly belligerent tone. The region already suffers enough problems; the US needs no more. Turkey's position on the flotilla confrontation has been broadly repudiated in the very UN report that Turkey itself wanted! Worse, Turkey is dropping hints of a military confrontation not only against Israel but against Cyprus over its offshore gas drilling. Soon its only regional friend could be ... Iran! Turkey might be better advised to focus on problems closer to home, like its credit-fueled economy. When it crashes, Israel will be the least of her worries.
3. Strange
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (09.04.11)
There is no doubt that Hamas calls for genocide and ethnic cleansing. There is no doubt that Hamas launched rocket attacks on Israeli civilians. Yet we only hear two Turkish voices: Erdogan who sends thugs to kill Israelis and is "insulted" when they fail, and Kilicdaroglu who is angry that the UN upheld the blockade on Hamas.
4. Latter-day Kemal
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (09.04.11)
So Mr. Kiliçdaroglu, the latter-day Kemal criticizes the Turkish PM for his bold, moral response to Zionist aggression! The original Kemalism, which plagued Turkey for many decades is finally dead and Turkey has returned to its religious roots. Today's Kemal is but a chicken clucking in the background, to whom none would pay attention. Turkey: Stay the course!
5. Is he taking risks with old Erdo ?
Roland Seener ,   London England   (09.04.11)
6. Islamists boarded Turkey, on course to sink her.

7. Hmmm, interesting. Turkey is Biblical Magog
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (09.04.11)
8. TURKS NEVER FORGET!
Mehmet ,   London   (09.04.11)
My grandfather saved many Jewish people from France during Nazi attacks, i was proud of that. Now Israel killed our citizens who are without guns. Do not feel us regretful to do good thinks. TURKS NEVER FORGET!

Natan   (09.04.11)
"Turkey, stay on course" YES...straight into a brick wall!!!!
10. Erdogan is a real turkey
zionist forever   (09.04.11)
If even Turkey's opposition leader is telling Erdogan he is an idiot for downgrading relations then he really is looking for friends in all the wrong places ( Hamas & iran ) and there is a slim sliver of a hope that when Erdogan goes relations with Turkey might recover. Whatever happens Bibi must not apologize because an apology is like admitting guilt and if we say we are guilty then we are effectively saying the blockade is illegal and if we do that we must naturally end it. Refusing to apologize is more than some ego trip of Bibi & Liberman it affects our legal rights to self defense and to stop smuggling. Let Erdogan be best buddies with Ahmadinejad and Hamas while we make new friends in Kurdistan, Cyprus and Greece.
11. Turkey installing NATO radar to protect Europe from Iran
Kevin ,   USA   (09.04.11)
Try not to post lies, Turkey has strategc importance to both the US and Europe
12. Hamas congratulates Erdogan-what do they care
Carl   (09.04.11)
" Cretins " the only word fitting this monumental fiasco..-Erdogan, Davutoglu, have decided to play it tough and flex their muscles. " We are a people of 70 millions and we will protect our citizens " In this case Stupid, idiots, imbeciles can be added as well. What have they gained? ZILCH !. Now that the pressure is off, tiny Israel with their 7 million " fighters " can safely demobilise. They will not attempt to punish the big bad wolf for his crime of " Lese Majesty "
13. If Kemal Kilicdaroglu can see it....
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (09.04.11)
...let's hope that the Israel government can see it too and leave the Turkish government to stew in its own juice. Israel has been a BIG winner and is going to be an even bigger winner if Erdogan doesn't gain the sense to stop digging the hole that he's dug himself into. Not much sign of that, though;Erdogan is too arrogant and obsessive and is going to make himself into an international laughing stock THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!
14. To Grazcek #4
MnEd ,   USA   (09.04.11)
Yes, Erdogan has returned Turkey to its “religious roots.” So, what does that mean? A nation stuck in a 12th century ideology, a people who have not accomplished anything of value for 100’s of years, a society that treats its women as chattel, and a culture unable to self-assess without killing the messenger. Please Grazcek, leave Maryland immediately and return to your land of similar (non) thinking people.
15. #8 Mehmet
Alex ,   Brooklyn, NY   (09.04.11)
Mehmet, just because they didnt have gun, doesnt mean anything. Did you see the metal clubs and pipes that those "peace activists" had? Come on man, wake up and stop listening to your Islamist leader, who only wants to destroy the reputation of Turkey. Please realize that Israeli soldiers were acting in self defense. If Turkey imposed a blockade on its territory and someone would try to break it, would you let those people do it???????

lochem51 ,   israel/usa   (09.04.11)
Turks never forget, do the Armenians ever forget? Your grandfather was a great man. Thank you and may you be blessed for his merit. Isn't it great now that because of Israel, Jews no longer need to be hiding and saved, we can stand up and fight when attacked.
17. erdogan
Sam M ,   UK   (09.04.11)
Erdogan should be very careful. The threats he is making re the agreement between Cyprus and Israel to exploit gas reserves off the Cypriot coast and his statements about a more high profile turkish naval presence 'to prevent 'Israeli bullying' are unwise and dangerous. The IDF's military technology is highly advanced with some of it's weapons systems being superior to those of America and other western powers. I really don't think the turks should push things too far. With all due respect they are not in the same league! The gaza blockade is legal and also essential to Israel's security and Israel is very unlikely to change it's policy. Moreover Erdogan is damaging turkey's reputation at least within europe and other western nations and and that wont be in turkey's long term interests.
18. Please stop your Ottoman tendencies right now
anton Orde   (09.04.11)
We have always supported Turkey, but your adventurer islamist leader sent us terrorists, so what do you expect?
19. Try to remember, it is not the turkish PEOPLE talking, just
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.04.11)
the idiot they elected. I don't doubt the turks would love to have the Israeli tourists back if this modern day idi amin would leave office and let a human being be the the PM of Turkey.
20. @15 ALEX
david kiev   (09.04.11)
you can not make this mehmet understand your point. there is no sense. the truth is that our guys acted in selfe defense. there are many videos proving it, there is palmer report which was initiated by turks, there is a common sense at last. even their opposition guy blames them for being arrogant double faced islamists. their friends are hamas. what else? facts dont need to be proven. these ppl were terrorists. besides, our navy intercepted many other ships and no one was harmed!
21. # 11 Turkey has strategic importance
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (09.04.11)
Not anymore,Turkey is lead by people overdosed with islamic opium.
22. # 8 Turks
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (09.04.11)
Mehmet ! Your grand father was a brave man,but you fail to see the facts, imagine,ww 2,Turkey sends supplies to besieged Japan,200 miles from Japan, the US Navy orders the ship to stop, for inspection, the Turks respond,we will not stop,we are in international waters, and it's none of your buisness what cargo we carry, how long do you think,it would have taken the US Navy to send the ship to the ocean floor ?.
23. no 8 Mehmet
JUDAH THE LION   (09.04.11)
Dear Mehmet, I would like to raise my hat to your grandfather who saved human being like him.Jews & Israel do not have any problems with the TURKISH NATION,but with your present Government.I personally have many Turkish friends who used to meet in NIghtclubs and we were really good friends like brothers.Hopefully one day there will be new Goivernment in Turkey and the realtionship with TURKEY will improved.
24. Turkey is going
nick77 ,   L.A.,USA   (09.04.11)
Turkey is going full steam ahead to the 12th century....Way to go Turkey.
25. Mehmet - Turks sometimes forget
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (09.04.11)
Let me remind you the things that you forgot: In 1974 when Turkey invaded North Cyprus the USA imposed the infamous crippling embargo that stood for almost 2 decades. At one point Turkish economy was so bad that then PM Bulent Ecevit said that the treasury was in need for even 70 cents. 1 USdollar that was about 10 TL went up to 1.5 million liras in the mid 1980 ies becoming the fun of NY radio personality Howard Stern. In 1980 ies PM Turkut Ozal asked the Turkish Jews to mobilize Israel's and the Israeli lobby's support in the USA. As a Turkish originated American I too participated in some activities which resulted with the lifting of that embargo which started the prosperity of Turkey. Israeli lobby in the USA used its influence to blocked the Armenian genocide bills at the US congress several times. When Arab countries were supporting the Greek side in Cyprus conflict, Israel supported Turkey. You forgot very quickly that Israel stood up for Turkey as a real friend even after the Kidnapping and Murder of Israeli ambassador Efraim Elrom In Turkey. When I grew up In Izmir The Turks that I knew were brave real friends or as you say MERT. I can see that nowadays the MERLIK of Turks is something of the past. NANKORLUK is the new attitude.
26. #8 here is poster of "citizens who are without guns"
Rehavam ,   Israel   (09.04.11)
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3974911,00.html You send as those terrorists and expect apology? Do not take as for fools. it was TURKISH TERRORISTS. Just like you. We are not friends of terrorists. Even if his grandfather was Richteous.
27. Israel should be Thankfull to God for this !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.04.11)
As nr 13 has rightly pointed out !. Nr 2 has also a point but, even Iran will turn against Turkey, and Turkey will have to bow to Saudiarabia to survive. Nr 7 err because Magog stands for Bankok but denotes todays China because the Tai People are of Chinese origin. Israel should leave Turkey to itself because she will soon go on the Military prey and prowl but will lose. God bevere Israel for ties with Turkey. Arn.Sweden.
28. David Israel is proud of AIPAC blocking
Nina ,   NYC   (09.05.11)
Armenian Genocide recognition. Enough said. Israel deserves all the hostility it gets from Turkey and the rest of the region.
29. #8 Mehmet
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (09.05.11)
We thank your Grand Father for saving us. It look like you did not learn enough form him. I guess metal bars and knives are not weapons in the muslim world. They are just toys. After all how good of a muslim could you be if you don't play with one once in a while? What are you 2 years old?
30. #8, In case you did no get enough
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (09.05.11)
answers. Here is another one. Your favourite monkey in Tehran, Ahmadinejad, is putting people in prison for spraying water on each other for fun. Maybe you should go to Tehran and help him. You should also ask an Iranian what they think of Turks. It may really offend you. It's a national joke there. Please be careful!!
