1. Instead of lashing out
RedBull   (09.08.11)
Look at what would drive acts of retribution. Consider the utter disenfranchisement of Yesha folks. The injustice of laws being selectively enforced against them, with no recourse. The enemies are plotting Israel's destruction, don't you believe it's foolish for Jews to be fighting one another?
2. Jewish radicals are you talking about tent protesters too?
Rachel ,   US   (09.08.11)
3. Let's end all restrictions on Judea/Samaria building.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.08.11)
What must end are blatantly racist restrictions on Jewish building in Judea and Samaria. There is no excuse for them whatsoever. Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel, as countless international law experts have proven incontrovertibly. The vast majority of Israeli Jews claim our ancestral heartland as recent polls, and a long series of elections prove. It's way past time for unrestricted Jewish building in Judea and Samaria.
4. What a stupid article from a stupid
David ,   On this planet   (09.08.11)
person. Why don't you start by asking your government to stop using the IDF for their political gain, and placing Israeli soldiers in a very bad position. The price tag bothered you, but watching the children of Migron sitting in the middle of their destroyed home was not that bad for you, you need more time reading the Bible
5. Easier separation - jail the lawbreakers
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.08.11)
Here in the high hills of Judea we're also fed up with these school dropouts who have no jobs, no guidance from parents, or parents who themselves are losers. There is NOTHING halachic about breaking the law - especially the treasonous and traitorous behavior of breaking into an IDF base and sabotaging IDF equipment that we Jews paid for with taxes on our parnasa. Find the cretins who did this and throw the book at them. Lock them up with the putrid haredi vermin from Ramat Beit Shemesh who have been attacking Jewish schoolgirls this past week. Then while they are in jail, separate them, train them in blue collar jobs, and when they are paroled they must work at their job and report in regularly, or go back to jail.
6. twisted words plain lies
yoni ,   tel aviv   (09.08.11)
she has no clue. This land is ours. we do not protect those who are our sworn enemies. Anyone who tries to twist the words of our torah to oblige to the liberal mental disorder of our times is simply pathetic
7. Let's seperate lead to two destroyed temples...
Steve ,   Toronto   (09.08.11)
Religious Zionist writer my ass...
8. God Bless the Settlers
Eli ,   Israel   (09.09.11)
When I read the history of the Jewish people, when I read the bible and all the great stories the only people who remind me of what the Jews realy were and realy should be are the settlers. when I look at the Liberals in Tel Aviv it reminds me of what God always detested and hated about the Jewish people, they call themselves Jews but they act like the enemy from abroad. Thank God for these heroic Jews who we call settlers, God Bless them, make kids lots of kids because the Left hates raising kids they want to sleep all day on the beach and get free welfare money from tax payers so make lots of children, in 20 years we will breed them all out of our lives. Democracy is a wonderful thing when you are the magority. Build baby build.
9. Interesting that nobody wonders
M   (09.08.11)
Until now they could not find the people who are being accused of "tag mechir" in other places. Maybe the hand of inciters and delegitimizers is in this attacks? Avishai Raviv comes to mind...
10. I agree 100% with No 5
Z Lando ,   Tekoa, Israel   (09.09.11)
I do not have to "separate" myself from them. I have 4 boys born and raised in Tekoa. They, nor I, have anything to do with these lawbreakers
11. this price tag slur by a "religious" person
steve ,   usa   (09.09.11)
So this religious person wants to keep his govt entitlements for himself and pile on. I wasn't aware that in Israel an entire group is guilty until all are proven innocent. And of course, with Ehud Barak, and your pro arab supreme court (which will change soon) these people never had a chance.
12. This is political, politics have "sold Judea and Samaria"
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (09.09.11)
Get a president that is not willing to sell any of Israel Land;in Rome Gipsy "settlers" live for free ...in Paris the same...and Israel is not prepared to welcome Jew that nobody wants???this is crazy after the holocaust!!!!!!!!' Do not complain than about anti-semitism,you despise you OWN PEOPLE....
13. Responsibility and talkback #2
Dawn ,   Israel   (09.09.11)
This article represents many of the feelings that I have had over the last 2 years. Some of the behavior that I have witnessed has upset me. The denial of such behavior by a few others has devestated me. If we take responsibility for our actions then we can maintain our integrity. And yes, I am talking also about tent protesters that threaten our public officials and hareidim that attack school children and destroy property.
14. The settlers are our misfortune
DR ,   hebron   (09.09.11)
History repeats itself. The German Jews once said, "the Polish Jews are our misfortune. The result of this attitude speaks for itself. In the Warsaw Ghetto the Judenrat felt the same way about their radicals. Our enemies can always depend on one thing: Jews, the people of the book, always have a hard time learning from history.
15. Shallow...
Yossi ,   Har Hevron   (09.09.11)
- A few facts; Its true that at least some of Migron's Land is in dispute Its true that Migron's establishment was was funded by the Government Housing Ministry Its true that due to pressure from Peace Now a political decision was made to dismantle Migron Its true that promises were made to resettle its families in nearby Yeshuvim by April 2012. Its true that no one has yet been convicted of the so called Price Tag actions which if they were carried out by Jews are not supported by the majority of those living in YESHA including Rabbi Lior Non of these facts justify the brutal treatment of the Jews of Migron or this cowardly article!
16. A "religious person" could not possibly write this
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (09.09.11)
"We shall adopt the moderation of Beit Hillel, while you adopt Beit Shamai." Only a totally ignorant moron who knows nothing of Jewish history would make such a stupendously stupid statement. Beit Hillel and Beit Shammai worked TOGETHER, there is nothing to indicate that "Beit Shammai" was more stringent or that "Beit Hillel" was more moderate. People who have studied Judaism would know this.
17. Sicariism and extremism lead to the destroyed temples
Meir Moses   (09.09.11)
18. KOL HAKAVOD
ZICHRON   (09.09.11)
Extremism breeds counter extemism the opposites ate part of talmudic lore . Talmudists know the Hillel Shammai dialictical opposite thinking and resoled practical comprimises .
19. I agree 100% with # 3
Israeli 2   (09.09.11)
20. yes, separate from foolishness
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (09.09.11)
The Israeli Government established the settlements and then later found it convienent to abadondon them. The Israeli Governments established Gush Katif and then the Sharon Government decided that it would be in our interest to evict them; who was injust to whom? Certainly to throw people out of their lawful homes is injustice, plus it certainly brought us further from peace. Those Jews living legally in the WB are seeing their lives endangered by both the Israeli government who has established them and now is tying to abandon them to a hate mongering population that if given their own country will certainly not treat them in a 'democratic' style, rather a 'demon-type' lynch. Who is really to blame? The radical left who inspires the youth with idealistic foolishness about how to achieve peace by giving in to the Arabs and giving them guns. Let us separate from this foolishness.
21. Great Article!!!!!!!!!!!
JewishHeart ,   Israel   (09.09.11)
This is a great article. I support Yesha and say build build build! I disagree with the destruction of Migron. However, treating Muslims like trash and burning thier mosques and destroying their trees is just acting like they are. We settlers need to act better. Be harsh in defense. Take defensive moves. Dont put up with terrorism...however, dont go and break the law and destroy private property for no reason either.
22. what a stupid article
yair   (09.09.11)
23. Redmind me this rabeinu calling to separate from Goldstone.
Miron ,   USA   (09.09.11)
Who knew Rabeinu Fogel was sleeping on a Shabbas service? You are trying to tell me two Arab teens who lived 2 kilometers away? The penchant of our swindlers, some on Wall Street others in robes of cohens to look like a police force over unsolved crimes, where they can accuse whomever they want to of whatever is convenient is worst example of insult to intelligence.
24. Accept the separation.
Michael ,   California, USA   (09.09.11)
Rewriting history is a proven totalitarian method practiced in Russia, China, Old Germany and other totalitarian countries. Now we have religious settlers of Yesha rewriting history and making up historical arguments that fool nobody. Chaim on this TB (#3) is buying it while the rest of enlightened people do not. But the division is deep and deepening within Israel, in view of which accepting the separation advocated in this Opinion is the least that should happen. Separating may lead to a solution which will avert a civil war so it should be tried as quickly as possible.
25. Really
michaelpielet ,   boca raton, Israel   (09.09.11)
G-d bless the Jews living in Judea and Samaria. They are the real zionists. The settlers living in Tel aviv are the real problem.
26. Author is right
Logic ,   Israel   (09.09.11)
In my opinion, the vigilantes are like those who burned down the grain silos in Jerusalem during the War of the Jews and escalated the conflict against the Roman Empire. We know how well that ended.
27. Although there is something to be said for your position...
Einat Barzilai   (09.09.11)
The way you have phrased it is almost like some kind of court-Jew (or court-Religious-Zionist in this case) trying to win favour from the leftist ruling clique. And I have absolutely no idea what Beit Shamai has to do with anything, nor was I aware that even the most radical Religious-Zionists wear Burqas...
28. enough
zichron   (09.10.11)
We have enough of ertez yisroel and a one to one land swap us nato security on the jordan river fringe internationalization of the Holy Basin and allowing fifteen thousand arabs to return to jaffa and haifa yearly screened for peaceful personality characteristics ought be part of the the peace plan . gaza arabs ought be allowed into the northern sinai with dual palestinian eygyptian nationality if they change the hamas covenent and change the violent name Hamas to islamic humanitarian.
29. #3 Chaim: why do you keep repeating the same canard?
Rafi ,   US   (09.10.11)
... that Israel has "incontrovertible legal right" to land in the West Bank. According to who?? For every citation you find, there will be10 opposed. This is your idea of "incontrovertible"? The reality is that except for limited pockets of Orthodox Diaspora Jews and some Evangelical Christians.... virtually NO ONE in the Free World supports your claim... not even in Israel ! It's a loser no matter how many times you repeat it... No one's buying it.
30. Oneness: BIG ISRAEL only practical option left.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.10.11)
