1. Go Lieberman! You make me proud to be Israeli again!
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (09.09.11)
2. Israel belligerence
DrObserver ,   Mexico City, Mexico   (09.09.11)
Without the US, Israel is just a very small country in a neighborhood they have alienated. I do not understand why Jews have gone out of their way to give people reason to hate them. One would think that 2000 years of struggle would make them more eager to have friends. What happens when their bully big brother can't fight their fights anymore?? Oh well . . . .
3. Israel loses to Turkey
GolanTreviz ,   USA   (09.09.11)
Now Turkey is going to send warships into the Eastern Mediterranean. While Israel makes more stupid, self destructive blunders every year than can be counted, provoking the Turks of all people by murdering unarmed civilians on one of their ships in international waters has to be the topper. Israels myth of invincibility died with their 1973 war with Egypt and has gone downhill with each unsuccessful war since then. Now you've gone and done it; attacked someone other than refugees and random terrorists, who is much more powerful than you. Do you people really think all the useless, self righteous blather you post on line or in speeches impresses anyone any more? You're in over your head and have very little time to admit it.
4.  Israel to ‘punish’ Turkey
horovirg ,   romania   (09.09.11)
don't fight with the dumb that has rested mind
5. That's why I like Lieberman - BIG BALLS
Eyal ,   USA Israel   (09.09.11)
I bet Barak is barking now, as he was preparing his apology speech to Edgorgan, Netanyahu is probably in dismay, because he doesn't want to bring more tension and Livny is just plain Livny. I think Lieberman is the best, because everything he is doing, is what I feel and what I think everyone feels needs to be done. He is on the way to the Prime Minister's office.
6. PKK is a designated terrorist organization.
Can ,   Istanbul   (09.09.11)
Setting meetings with terrorists... Such a wise move from a minister of foreign affairs! Cooperation with terrorist just suits fine for this punk.
7. Fight fire with fire
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (09.09.11)
8. Lieberman
bg ,   jerusalem   (09.09.11)
Well you could be sure that Lieberman would not be slow to fight back against Turkey. The key seems to have been the final realisation that nothing Israel says or does would fix relations. Turkey is set on a path that will head to disaster. It now enjoys poor relations with Greece, Cyprus, Syria, Israel and now Iran. Not bad for a start. It's EU application is stone dead; NATO will be in question when eventually Turkey won't place US missile batteries on it's territory. The Armenian genocide is their soft underbelly, not to speak of the PKK, civilin Kurds etc etc. Go Lieberman!
9. finaly!
mehrdad ,   germany   (09.09.11)
lieberman is a politican with guts. he realy knows that appeasing the enemies of the jewish people will lead to nothing. bravo and hope he is the next israeli PM! erdogan must learn that insulting jews for so many years and working with islamic terrorists has a price finaly. so isolate turkey. work with kurds, armanian, greek..drill for oil and gas with greek and keep off turkish warships with your own! do everything to make it coasty for turkey to play with israels security.
10. Yes but
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (09.09.11)
Yes. This is good if it works and the Turks understand how much they have to lose by threatening and insulting Israel continually. But if Erdogan who hates us goes ballistic and pushes toward real war we will be in a terrible, superflous, and truly dangerous 'broch'.
11. erdogan
truth ,   australia   (09.09.11)
what about hamas ?
12. At last someone in Jerusalem has found his gonads!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (09.09.11)
Erdogan has shown his true colors and has joined the Axis of Evil and, no doubt, will soon join the raving lunatic in Tehran's call for Israel to be wiped of the face of the Earth. However, why are we hearing this from Foreign Minister Lieberman and not from Prime Minister Netanyahu? The crisis with Turkey which is fast turning into a hostile situation and possible armed conflict surely warrants a statement by the Prime Minister to the people of Israel. Time for Bibi to grow a pair and talk to the people and to stop sending his stooges to do his dirty work!
13. Mr. Lieberman and the Turks
ORLY ,   TEL AVIV ISRAEL   (09.09.11)
There is one language that Mr. Erdogan will understand and that is if somebody uses his own. Sometimes I miss Mr.s golda Meir who had the courage to speak their mind. Unfortunately, most people in the west, Israel included, do not understand Moslems and Arabs. They only respect people who are strong.
14. Cyprus
Cypriot ,   Denmark   (09.09.11)
Do not forget Cyprus.Turkey invades our country and it made hell the north cyprus. We turk cypriots are in prision in norhern cyprus.Turkey violate human rights in norheren Cyprus.Do not forget this.
15. No need to play childish games.
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (09.09.11)
Yes, be firm with our position. For that I respect Lieberman. But be more adult than Turkey about this.
16. @6 Can
George ,   NSW, Australia   (09.09.11)
That's nice, PKK is a terrorist organization? What about Hamas? They are not? And your beloved PM is going to kiss them.
17. LIEBERMAN KING OF ISRAEL ! (End)
mark ,   t.a. israel   (09.09.11)
18. It's a shame to see how Turkey has changed for the worse...
Jonathan   (09.09.11)
And I agree, that Israel could have done NOTHING other than to protect itself. Supporting Gaza, knowing that they are shooting missiles at school buses, children, is really disgusting Erdogan.
19. Brinksmanship
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (09.09.11)
The circuit breaker is for the Israelis to talk to the Turks. Pronto. The brinksmanship on the high seas must be prevented. The USA offered Turkey to host an international peace conference in Istanbul that they were to facilitate between Israel and the Palestinians six weeks ago, but it didn't do the trick. The problem is there is a huge deficit in trust between various parties. This can be healed however. The Turks are a very proud people who have empathy for the plight of the Palestinians. I also maintain however that if the right diplomatic moves are done then it is possible for people in Turkey to get along quite nicely with people in the State of Israel. The Turks fought vicious battles against the ANZAC's in WWI. Now both countries are on very good terms. A saying on a shrine at Gallipoli is apt... “Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives, you are now in the soil of a friendly country, therefore, rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side in this country of ours. You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are at peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.” - Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, 1934
20. Israel should have helped the Kurds a long time ago!
Jouko ,   Kuopio,Finland.   (09.09.11)
Israel should be an idealistic nation who is fighting for all oppressed people regadless whether She profits from it, now the motive to help the Kurds is not the best possible - to have revenge upon the Turks.
21. To Can from Istanbul
Sam ,   USA   (09.09.11)
Hamas too.
22. this is not surprise
nesrin ,   van   (09.09.11)
Turkey knows that Israel has helped PKK on n.ıraq before.
23. So is Hamas/Hizbullah
6   (09.09.11)
24. #2 and #3
Tom ,   Jeru   (09.09.11)
how foolish of you to put responsibility on the matters solely on Israel. Erdogan is bullying several nations around Turkey, not just Israel. Cyprus, for example, also face threats. This is part of his Islamist extremist view of the world and local Turkish trends that Israel plays a minor role in. Turkey seeks to become a regional power and Israel stands in its way. Putting the blame on Israel is: for #2- plain antisemitism "I don't understant why the Jews..." or #3- plain stupidity or simple hate. Israel had done many outstanding things these past years. An entire nation acting in humility to stop coming waves of hate- I thing it had never been heard of. All anonymous ignorants please revert to Dr. Denis Maceoin's letter to his students in the UK. No matter how many university degrees you may have, you can be just as dumb as the next guy.
25. Plenty of sense comes with balance
martin ,   Utrecht, Holland   (09.09.11)
Erdogan and Lieberman are causing the problems and without balance it gets worse/dangerous. Both men are nog the most smart ones, but that is another issue. Bibi can learn from Lieberman
26. Can, #6
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (09.09.11)
Can, the IHH has very strong links to terrorist organizations as well. And the government of Turkey knew that and actively cooperated with them as they went on their way to Gaza after making their martyr videos. Am I wrong? Having said that, of all the things that Lieberman is discussing, meeting with the PKK is the most disturbing to me.
27. Lieberman to Support PKK?
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (09.09.11)
That would make Israel's Foreign Ministry a state sponsor of an official terrorist organization. Does this guy think at all before he speaks? Is this how the State of Israel wants to go down, in the same class as the Ayatollahs of Iran? Wow.
28. @#2
YankeeObserver ,   USA   (09.09.11)
That is tough talk coming from someone whose country is almost entirely dependent on the United States to hold its hand and keep it from slipping into an entirely crime-ridden mafia-run hellhole. Don't forget we also absorb many citizens who no longer desire to live in Mexico for the reasons stated above. Get your own backyard in order before you go criticising others'.
29. And Hamas is...
SOKAKTAN ,   IZMIR, TURKEY   (09.09.11)
A benevolent charity organization, right???
30. for once i actually agree with lieberman....
valentina ,   israel   (09.09.11)
many blessings to the kurds
