31. Israel is going to be alot tougher to fight than Kurds are
zionist forever   (09.13.11)
Israel attempts to enforce a LEGAL blockade of Gaza. Turkish warships fire on Israeli ones. Israeli warships fire back and call for air support. Israel sinks a Turkish warship. ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE I am sick of Turkey and every other country that thinks they have a right to dictate Israel's security. Its not for Erdogan to decide if Israel blockades Gaza and if Israel is forced to board Turkish ships because they won't stop or divert then that is Israel's right. If Erdogan wants to go to war to stop this blockade then he can go ahead but I think he will find Israel is not going to be as easy to deal with as the Kurds, Armenians or Cypriots. Turkey will have a real fight on its hands this time round and when its over it will be expelled from NATO who will not come to his rescue in this war.

Generations to come will find it difficult to believe that such a man actually walked on this earth. a tireless fighter for the downtrodden. What a great leader.
37. Turkey is right in international water.
nero ,   nyc   (09.13.11)
Turkey has the right to maintain freedom of navigation for her ships in international waters. It never asserted the right of its navy to enter Israel ior Gaza water. Lets not go overboard with Turkey bashing.
38. #36. you should know...another Forbes Burnham in the making.

39. #37. Erdogan is a hen-pecked Arab male who has
Harry Wright ,   UK   (09.13.11)
gone plain crazy. His extremist wife can't be more extreme than him because after all, he will lose face, so he has to keep up with her or better yet, surpass her. So many vessels traverse those waters on a daily basis. Any of them threatening anybody? Everybody going about their business peacefully and looking out for Somali pirates east of the Suez. Erdogan is the only one jerking off and spouting rubbish. This lunatic is a millstone around Turkey's neck that will eventually strangle Turkey. Erdogan's crazy antics tell the world that he should be in a mental asylum. Who thought before now know he is stark staring mad. Is this the loony that Obama wanted to appease? Both of them must be equally mad.
40. erdogan
greek ,   athens greece   (09.13.11)
He talks the talk but won't walk the walk.
41. Turkey
Andre ,   Brasil   (09.13.11)
Turkey should leave their occupation of Cyprus and Turkey should answer for human rights violations against the Kurd people and Armenian people. Turkey should anser for the Genocide of the Armenian people.
42. Greece will be with you Israel
Joe ,   USA   (09.13.11)
If you help us recover Constantinople we shall be forever grateful!
43. Erdogan will send ships, but...
RichInBoston ,   BostonUSA   (09.13.11)
...it won't be a naval confrontation. Israel will enfoce the blockade by all means possible. Turkey is uprepaired for the kind of fight Israel has in store. Turkey's ships sail blind, alone and vulnerable.
44. DEAR MR ERDOGAN
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (09.13.11)
Screw you already.
45. Erdogan -
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (09.13.11)
says Israel 'a spoiled child that accuses anyone who dares criticize it of anti-Semitism'. Dare we criticize Erdogan with his Kurd and Cyprus policies? Anyone behaving like a spoiled child it is Erdogan.
46. The great Muslim patriot, erdogan blinked
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (09.13.11)
47. Erdogen is a moron
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.13.11)
We are the most criticized country on the planet period. Most of the comments are how stupid you are, not that your country is anti-semitic, which it is and so are you. You are the one that can't handle criticism. Hence the reason why your country has more reporters in jail than another country in the world, heck you have nearly half of all the reporters who are in jail in the world. It is also the reason you have purged your military of any competent officers, now only your pets remain. No as usual you are a hypocrite that can't stand anybody standing up to your bullying. Well we can and we are not afraid of you and yes we can fight back.
48. It's over
Ariel   (09.13.11)
Erdogan manufactured the actual situation. And Israelis politicians can not keep their mouth shut, What in hell are both trying to achieve?
49. The Ottoman Mussolini
Michael ,   Ohio,USA   (09.13.11)
Erdogan's style reminds me of Mussolini - all bluster and bluff, no substance. When things got tough Mussolini would ramp up the braggodocio. Can't say Erdogan is doing much better with the substance either. Like Mussolini he envisions the reconstruction of a Turkish empire or sphere of influence in the Mediterranean -- like Italy, every move has been met with failure. Incidentally how come no one is bringing up the fact that Turkey currently occupies 50% of a an EU member state? I'm talking about Cyprus. I should think Turkey would resolve their occupation before criticizing others. Something about glass house and rocks I believe?...
50. Iran has given lots of money to Turkey to make them talk
like this!   (09.13.11)
just talk about Islamic terrorism and this will be called Islamophobia. as if people are not supposed to be afraid of terrorists who are in a ship and say they want to be martyrs and then beat up Israeli soldiers and take pictures of their evil acts. these 9 turkish terrorists wanted to be martyred but didn't belive that Israeli soldiers would try to defend themselves when attacked. this reminds of of Arab mourning the Nakbah day knowing that they only lost the war and Lands to Israel becuase they attacked Israel. why can't these people understand that if they attack others and try to kill them they too will defend themselves? conquring and occupyig many lands have made them thing they have a right to attack and occupy other people's lands and if they are not successful it means they have been wronged! very strange mentality!
51. #34
mando ,   egypt   (09.13.11)
really as you say is perfect about israel except for killing unarmed people but great erdogan learned you the polite option
52. 37
zionist forever   (09.13.11)
If Israel has good reason to believe ships are trying to breach a LEGAL blockade then under the Helsinki Principles Israel has a right to stop and board that ship even in international waters. The flotillas are there not to deliver aid thats a minor issue. Their main purpose is to breach the blockade which is why the rejected Israel's offer to have their cargo inspected in Israel and then have it transported overland. Non of the passengers or organizers have ever made a secret of the fact the plan is to breach the blockade so Israel knows the plan is to breach the blockade which will make boarding ships legal. International waters of not is Turkish warships try and stop Israel enforcing a legal blockade through force it will officially be an act of war and it will spiral out of control which will result in ships being sunk and both civilian and military personnel getting killed. The only way to stop this before it goes any further is for the rest of the world to put Erdogan in his place before he does something stupid. The US should certainly not agree to his recent request to buy Predator UAVS.
53. "ready for any scenario" - READY TO LOSE?
(09.13.11)
Yep. Ready to lose a lot more than you bargained for Erdogan. The day of reckoning is coming.
54. To: No. 37
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.13.11)
Turkey is not defending a fully legal and internationally recognized blockade. In fact, Turkey is acting in complete disregard of Israel's absolute right to defend any attempted breaches of Israel's fully legal and internationally recognized blockade. Turkey aided and abetted a terrorist organization, and got outed by the Palmer Report. Turkey encouraged and lent financial support -- not to mention the use of her ports -- to support a terrorist organization and to encourage illegal actions. No wonder Turkey is humiliated; as well it should be. Stop practicing curbside maritime law, since you do not know what you are babbling about.

56. only a hateful fool, like erdo, would even suggest conflict
dante ,   uk   (09.13.11)
this clown has proved that he is a petulant, brooding, resentful enfant who has surrendered himself to some malevolent obsession. turkey deserves a lot better than erdo.
57. Erdogone needs a reality check...
b mezritch ,   philadelphia pa   (09.13.11)
... the quiet secular majority of Turkey needs to depose of this despot before this Ottoman wanna- be ignites WW 3. Nothing but a two faced anti-semetic war-monger. Never forget what happened during the Holocausts Jewish and Armenian.
58. He did the whole thing on purpose.
noa ,   israel   (09.13.11)
He always intended to take the path he is taking now; he just needed an excuse. The Flotilla was in international waters before it began its' intended entrance to Israel, to Gaza. Turkey knew Israel would react to this challenge. Our government is not okay, but maybe that is the type of government we need when surrounded by unstable people who are first motivated by their "honor", an "honor" that allows the death penalty int heir countries, that curtails womens' rights, that takes minor offenses and turns them into major crimes.
59. wrongly title picture
uli ,   jerusalem   (09.13.11)
these are not turkish 'war ships', but only one turkish war ship and an american and an italian carrier...
