Unfortunately, Mr Lieberman's opinion isn't shared by the Israeli government. They, especially Barak, are busy selling the country to the Arabs.

The US won't talk to him because "they can't handle the truth". He tells them things they don't want to hear; they'd rather continue promoting their delusions. The same applies to many of his fellow Israeli politicians. But seeing how his arguments resonate with the broad Israeli consensus, they have to "stop him" - thus the years of investigation. Is he squeaky clean? Probably not. Curious that those connected to the "peace camp" are not so similarly pursued.
