1. Israel's appeasement feeds the monster
Marcel ,   Florida   (09.15.11)
All the restraint and goodwill gestures from Israel for the phony peace has led to this. The peace process has always been a war process. Weakness invites war and Turkey and the Arab world see Israel as weak and ripe for final solution.

nospam ,   Venus   (09.15.11)
The dude has an attention seeking disorder. For this medical condition denying him an attention is recommended. I bet they got a psychologist's advice, rather than came with it themselves.

9. Not Good
OT ,   NYC   (09.15.11)
As a Turkish-American in NY with many Jewish friends, colleagues, I have followed recent development closely. Frankly, I am concerned, and don't think any of this is headed in a good direction. Talk of war is grandstanding - the reality is, Israel & Turkey, cannot and will not go to war. It disappoints me to see the yip-yap on some of these comments around who is stronger, etc. The bigger matter that will affect Israeli (and to a lesser degree, Turkish) day to day lives is commercial trade. Any lifting of normal trading relationships will affect both nations greatly, probably Israel a little more so. That is not to say that Turkey will not suffer - Israel is technologically far advanced to anyone else in the region, and this has benefited Turkey greatly. The whole thing is disappointing - I used to carry the close Turko-Israeli relationship as a source of pride. I think it is important for Israelis and Jews worldwide to understand the history of Turkish/Jewish relationships throughout history. We have been your friends for centuries. Yes, the US is your largest backer right now, but that is a consequence of money influencing politicians. Absent this influence, don't go looking to the Anglo-Saxon world for friendship.
10. Erdogan
soldier ,   sweden   (09.15.11)
Very wisely to not letting be provoked by the Erdogan fool. Let him shout, let him boost, let him show. Western people don´t like leaders that acts aggressivly. It´ll only get him enemies in the west. The more often he opens his mouth and screams the more he´ll reveal his hateful and agressive ambitions. It´ll play in Israel hands. Israeli leaders only have to lean back and and let him make a fool of himself. This can make Israel win the hearts and minds of western people. Congratulations Israel. You´re winning without needing to act or even say a word. Just telling the world: We want peace but see how Erdogan acts against us!
11. To: Prof. Miao at No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.15.11)
Oh my, yes; he certainly is. And we all remember what happened in 1967, do we not? Erdogan just wants some of that natural gas that belongs to Israel. Fat chance. Turkey's economy is circling the bowl -- Erdogan really would be well advised not to give Israel a reason to flush.

Mike ,   Israel   (09.15.11)
You sit in your florida condo with only to think of where to have the cheapest early bird meal, and you continue to insult Israelis. Have you ever been here? do you know what war is? why would we ingage in a BS conversation with Turkey, why would we respond to his BS. We are strong, and much more than he will dream of being and he knows it. Let him talk all he wants, Hope you find a cheap early bird meal Shalom

22. Correct response
M.J. Eizen ,   Petah Tikvah, Israel   (09.15.11)
While I would like to see us respond to this blowhard's threats, I must agree with the PM and the Cabinet that the best thing to do is stay quiet, and let him vent. On the other hand, I would send quiet diplomatic messages, and make it absolutely clear to the Turks that any interference with Israel's exploitation of its natural resources, or any attempt to breach the blockade will result in an a full out Israeli assault on all Turkish vessels and aircraft involved in such actions. The Turks may think they have weight, but the IDF can easily handle whatever they have.
23. and that goes for you too, Turk
Rahel   (09.15.11)
and that goes for Turkey too- it does not own the Mediterranean... Erdogan is a bully, he is starting to talk like the Mad Ahmad--- there are other countries on the Med. too- so you Turkeys stay on your side-
24. The Arabs and Turks rattling sabres
Spencer ,   Israel   (09.15.11)
The Arabs and Turkey can think what they like, but , they better beware that they don't cross the line, because if they do..........they should remember what Israel did to those who had planned to attack her..... and this time I don't think that anyone will stop Israel finishing any job she begins.
