the British defeated the Turks and then offered some of the land to the Jews of Europe and elsewhere as a colonial project. It is true that Queen has nothing whatsoever to do with the bill. The article is misleading in not interpreting archaic language. She is not only not an absolute monarch, she has essentially zero powers, and even now adays funds much of her own life. (Even a supposed absolute monarch like Henry VIII had to beg the commoners-only house of parliament for money in the late middle ages.) So the Queen of the United Kingdom (she is queen of just England, but of all 4 British states) is not to be credited at all.
