1. Haaretz and Ynet should be very proud
David ,   On this planet   (09.17.11)
of this specie of of man
2. if God wants to demand sacrifice from us
Galutia ,   Selah   (09.17.11)
Quote :" if God wants to demand sacrifice from us, he should do it with His own voice, as He did with Abraham-" ----- one day soon that will be so....
3. So the results of the oslo accords were
jason white ,   afula, israel   (09.17.11)
correct according to him. rabin, peres and the rest have placed Israel in mortal danger. With 1700 dead Israelis and thousands wounded, terrorist armies armed by us and on our borders, returning to the pre 1967 lines, that is okay. Sometimes when a person switches sides, they become a fanatic and they want to hurt their former friends as well as convert others to their side.
4. A Mass Suicide would be Ideal
Leon ,   Algonquin Land   (09.17.11)
Religious Wackos, whether they are Christians, Muslims or Jews are better off dead. Then they are in their favourite place and they are not bothering the sane people.
5. threats
Jay ,   USA   (09.17.11)
the threat to Israel is coming from radical leftists, settlers are patriots, there is nothing radical about that
6. the greatest anomalies of our age
Margaret ,   Xtian Belt   (09.17.11)
This so-called Jew and these settlers are sicker than the Turk and more dangerous than the German. This modern nation of Israel's religiousity and history is based on a whole another peoples existence in time and it just can't seem to realize what peace is.
7. Let It Be Clear...
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (09.17.11)
The secular State of Israel is probably not the beginning of the Final Redemption or the Messianic era. Once that point sinks in, people should be far more cautious and realistic regarding their attitudes towards the Land of Israel and our Arab neighbors. We ain't there yet, so cool it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is dreaming and dangerously misleading you. Basically, fellows, don't be arrogant.
8. It is Wrong to Force People to Leave their Homes
Rafael ,   Yerushalayim   (09.17.11)
What Micha should be horrified at is the very idea of evacuating settlements, (ie. Jewish communities in Judea an Samaria). That people might react violently or irrationally to being forced at gunpoint out of their own homes by soldiers of the very same army in which they themselves serve seems only natural. Micha, get a hold of yourself and try to discern here between right and wrong.
9. Oneness: social-economic 3rd way AND secure BIG ISRAEL.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.17.11)
10. religious far right greater threat than Iran
Haim ,   TA   (09.18.11)
Just goes to prove how these youngsters are brain washed in the name of religion. The radical right wing and settlers pose a bigger danger to this country than Iran. Anyone who dosent subscribe to their fanatical point of view is considered a traitor. The murder of PM Rabin just goes to show what these people are capable of.
11. Scapegoats: nations hit the jew-Israel hits the settlers....
Who cares   (09.18.11)
Both obvious, both cheap, both a sign of weakness, both doesnt solve the problem. But in both cases : at least they can hit somebody !! Shame on the Israeli government which has not only forsaken Gilad Shalit but the settlers too - shame on you Bibi !!
12. This is 40 years ago!
Victor ,   USA   (09.18.11)
There is no movement like he is talking about in Israel. The Land of Israel messianics died out a long time ago. The current settlement movement is trying to not be forced from their homes. They are lucky to get 2 extra houses built every year. Who is talking about anything else? This article is just complete nonsense, trying to stir people up against settlers and religious people, who are the most law abiding and socially responsible groups in the entire country.
13. The crime is driving Jews from their homes in Judea/Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.18.11)
This article is utter rubbish. Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel. Israel clearly voted against ceding any part of Judea and Samaria. Moreover, recent polls show almost 80% of Israeli Jews oppose ceding Judea and Samaria. It is not a crime to protect one's home and land. It is a crime to attempt to drive Jews from their homes and land in Judea and Samaria. Rather than violence from a few radicals, any Israeli government attempting such a horrendous crime would face mass uprising from the vast majority of Israel. And rightfully so.
14. #10. Most Israeli Jews are rightists..
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.18.11)
#10. I don't know how to break this to you, Haim, but the Israeli right composes the vast majority of Israel. Why do you think the leftist parties are being voted out of existence? Why do you think almost 80% of Israeli Jews, recently told a highly publicized poll, they oppose ceding Judea and Samaria? As far as Rabin is concerned; we need a real investigation into it. We must clear up the hundreds of serious inconsistencies with the "lone rightist assassin" theory, which is almost certainly false.
15. @ 8
Daniel ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (09.18.11)
Get a grip on yourself man. Do you really not understand the rules of democracy, sounds like you should prosper in Iran. As # 4 so clearly said , let these delusional religious nutters kill themselves off if thats the solution to their way of thinking .Enough already with their sick "culture" spoiling things for the normal Israeli.
16. #13 Since when the WB belongs to Israel?
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (09.18.11)
Which law says that the West Bank belongs to Israel? Flash News for you, it's been a military zone for the last 40 yrs.
17. Micha's trap
Yisraeli   (09.18.11)
Micha has fallen into the trap that regards the state and all its hierarchy as holy and sacrosanct. Wrong very wrong. Without any ideology you should pack up otherwise by what right are you there.
18. #16 Gregg
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (09.18.11)
WB has been part of Israel/Judea for nigh onto 3800 years, check the old maps
19. How many radical settlers are there?
Seth Greenberg ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (09.18.11)
No doubt about it. Regev is right. There are 'radical' settlers. But wouldn't it be more responsible journalism to find out how many or how few there are? Where they are? What influence they have? Who they actually threaten? Who within their communities is working toward moderating them? This article invents a THREAT!!! based on the opinion of a very angry man and does not seek to corroborate this threat with any secondary sources. That's irresponsible journalism (or just plain malice). Of course there are mentally disturbed members of the settler community. It is a source of pain for their families. But talking about the coming of the messiah is something that all Jews do every day if they are regular synagogue attendees (BTW, t hat goes for Conservative and Reform and Orthodox Jews - not to mention around a million Xtians). I don't think all those people are radicals. In Jewish thought, the messianic age does not mean apocalypse. Many Rabbis, even in settlements, believe that the Holocaust was the calamity described in Jewish scriptures and the founding of the State of Israel is the beginning of the era of peace. For some people, the cup is half full and everything looks like a conspiracy and a threat. For others, like irresponsible journalists, it could just be a case of the kop being half full.
20. #16. Judea/Samaria has always belonged to Israel legally.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.18.11)
#16. Judea and Samaria has always legally belonged to Israel. This fact was acknowledged by none other than Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242. It has also been proven by countless other international law experts. I suggest you read "The Myth of Israel's Illegal Settlements" by Prof. David M. Phillips, Northeastern University School of Law. Or even go to Youtube and watch Danny Ayalon's "The Truth About The West Bank". Let your education begin.
21. Onto the Leftist book writers tour
Rod ,   Fargo. N.Dakota   (09.18.11)
This Micha Regev is looking foward to being the newest Leftist writer with all the acclaim and money that goes along with it.Also what happened after the last Disengagement in Gaza? well it wasn't exactly a victory .Maybe God is telling you something.
22. "settlers" are the cream of our crop
yoni ,   tel aviv   (09.19.11)
anyone who is willing to risk their lives for the sake of our people, nation and homeland is a hero. the "settlers" are just good patriotic citizens unlike the arab israelis, and the traitor left wingers who go out and support a hostile take over of our country by the sworn enemies of our state. pathetic article by a confused disgruntled used to be religious person
23. obvious palestians arent the problem the settlers are! wtf!!
Ester   (09.19.11)
24. Jews living in Judea & Samaria are the best citizens........
Am Israel ,   Jerusalem   (09.19.11)
