If this was a card game the decision is an easy one. The Pals have no cards: 1) The USA is going to veto the bid at the UN Security Council, which kills it. So this bid is DOA. The Pals have no cards. 2) The lawyers in England basically told Abbas it was a horrible move, legally speaking, for the status of the PLO and the mythical "right of return". 3) Right now the EU states are split on those who will vote Pro vs Con on the UN bid. So the Pals want to trade a losing hand, into a bluff that wins the game. Why would anybody agree to that? But if the world had any brains this is when you go "all in". This is when you refuse the Pals (who are they to "demands" anyway). You tell the Pals: A) to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, B) to openly state Israel has a right to exist, and change their Charters in the PLO and Hamas to reflect that. C) that they renounce terrorism and stop the rocket attacks. D) That Abbas sit down without preconditions at the negotiating table. My point is right now, at this moment in time, the world has a chance to settle this matter. But only if the world unites against the Pal terrorism. The world will never be in a better position. So I expect the world to BLOW IT.
