1. Flexible definitions a hasbara training?
Philos ,   Herzliya   (09.19.11)
The Flotilla "incident" was a military confrontation? C'mon..... we all know there were thugs on the boat but to equate it with Operation Cast Lead and the 2006 War is ridiculous. Ludicrous even. Hell, there are people who disagree if Cast Lead was even a war when compared to 2006 Lebanon War.

Rafael ,   Thornhill   (09.19.11)
You are so right natalie.Good for you! there is no better time to wake up stubborn leftists or ignorant misinformed people. They should do their homework- granted, but we need to tell them ignorance and misinformation is not the answer.
3. As it was with Hitler and Nazi fascism,
John Prophet   (09.19.11)
So it is with Islamic fascism. You either fall to your knees and submit, or you crush it completely. There was no middle ground with Hitler, there is no middle ground now!
4. Israel
Mark ,   USA   (09.19.11)
Israel needs to realize that a palestinian state, wherever it is, is a benefit for the Jewish State of Israel. Without a Palestinian state, the PNA could eventually push for disintegration, and the case for a one state, bi-national country, which will mean the death of the Jewish homeland. Hamas realizes this, and that is why they are against the UN declaration. Israel should state that they welcome this declaration, but that refugees will now be the sole responsibility of Palestine. Just as Israel's boundaries are not fully recognized, so too with the state of Palestine's boundaries will be, until they are negotiated.
5. I see thePalestinian bid as an opportunity for Israel
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (09.19.11)
The diplomats have a very poor record as they never say what they want and the UN is a disaster that the US should have given up funding many years ago. If the PA is recognized as a State then: Israel will be free of the horrible Oslo agreement. It will not have to collect taxes for the PA It will be able to annex as much of the WB as it wants. The US and many others will cease to fund the PA Israel will be able to close the border with Gaza etc etc No wonder Abbas says that hard time are ahead. Take off the clowns.
6. And what is happening in the shuls.....
All Jews ,   Must Act   (09.19.11)
In American and in Israel? Are members being educated about the facts and instructed how to contact their elected officials?
7. The wrong and the futile
Robert S-Schwartz ,   a few   (09.19.11)
The "six points plan" is made of six propaganda coffin nails that only contribute to transform Israel, the Hasbara and recruited Ultra-Zionist activists in symbols for an anti-humanist Israel. Believe me, I've spent many years advising both states and NGOs about best ways to present a case on the PR markets ...
8. Here's a suggestion.
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (09.19.11)
Let Mr Netanyahu go TOMORROW to the UN and offer Abbas immediate negotiations without preconditions.Make sure that the whole world hears the offer...and Abbas's response. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
9. Need to stress Jews' right of return
Geoff ,   London (UK)   (09.20.11)
Opponents of Israel claim that the latter has been built on stolen land. It's essential to point out that the sovereign Jewish state destroyed by the Romans was seen as entirely legitimate at the time and that the Jews exiled from that state (Judea) have a right of return.

boris ,   nyc, us   (09.20.11)
the problem with Israel, she already crushed those islamists number of times, but every time jews like to start negotiations about peace, which they already won.
11. ''hasbara''
marc   (09.20.11)
Israel calls its message to the English speaking world ''hasbara''. This is not an English word!! Why is Israel using a non-English word to describe its message to English-speaking people???? It can only be because Israeli ''hasbara'' experts are stupid. STOP using non-English words to talk to English speakers. Its beyond insane. It allows the enemy to define ''hasbara'' any way it choses. ''Propaganda'' is the most obvious definition. I shake my head in despair at the stupidity of this country called Israel.

Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.20.11)
Our rights are international law. The Mandate for Palestine stated that we had every right to every inch of land from the Sea to the Jordan River. In 1945 that was confirmed by the UN Charter. It's our land and we have all rights to it period.

Geoff ,   London (UK)   (09.20.11)
The trouble with basing your rights on international law is that international law can be changed.
16. #11, "hasbara"
ilana ,   Netanya, Israel   (09.20.11)
You may be right about the insanity of using a Hebrew word to an English speaking audience, but the most obvious definition of hasbara is NOT propaganda, which has negative connotations. The word literally means 'explanation', or perhaps could be translated by 'information'.
17. Settlements are pretty unilateral
Mordicai O'Shay   (09.20.11)
..and actions speak a lot louder than words. Israel doesn't have a leg to stand on.
18. Geoff #15 not this one
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.20.11)
Seems people haven't bothered to read the UN Charter. The UN lost the authority to change that law the day Israel was accepted as a member of the UN per the UN Charter. "Article 78 The trusteeship system shall not apply to territories which have become Members of the United Nations, relationship among which shall be based on respect for the principle of sovereign equality. " Which means that those laws can no longer be changed because we are not under their trusteeship.
19. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.20.11)
Yeah. Good luck with that one. It takes a treaty, a convention and ratification by the individual states. So if Israel opts not to ratify a particular convention, that convention does not apply to Israel. The law can sing, dance or stand on its head -- if Israel doesn't ratify it, the law does not apply to Israel. That's black-letter international law, Geoff.
20. An opportunity to end Palestine nightmare forever.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.20.11)
By assuring the upcoming Palestine bid is an absolute fiasco (even more so than the 1988 P.A. statehood bid), Israel has a golden opportunity to end the Palestine nightmare forever. Let fictional Palestine have it's second highly publicized statehood bid and let's make it blow sky high. When the smoke clears, Palestine will be toast. It will never be taken seriously again.
21. Hasbara Fellowships
Dan ,   Canada   (09.21.11)
The messages Natalie gives are childs' play. The anti-Israel crowd is not stupid and neither is the general public. "Israel wants peace"... does she honestly think that after years of her organization promoting these pre-packaged messages actually work? I hope her donors don't. The funniest part is one of Hasbara Fellowships pre-packaged messages was "Israel has no partner for peace." Don't listen to anything said. There is a reason the foreign ministry cancelled their partnership with Hasbara Fellowships years ago. Don't let their pictures fool you.... anyone can tour the MFA in Israel!
