Jayjay ,   Israel   (09.21.11)
3. Why speechify endlessly Obama?
Nour ,   One-State   (09.21.11)
Just say it: Palestinians deserve their freedom and independence, and it is NOT negotiable.
4. External factors leave 1 option: BIG ISRAEL
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.21.11)
5. PA Bid Retaliation and Law
Mary Snow ,   USA   (09.21.11)
My Opinion I just hope after all this that Israel does not allow the Palestinians to get off Scott free. If we reward them for this or do nothing Israel will be the laughing stock of the world. We need to annex area b AND c in the West Bank at the very least. Cut off all funds to the Palestinians. Israel needs to cut off all access to Israeli ports by the PA, Allow them only to access land routes to Jordan. Israel also needs to shut down the all Internet service support and cell phone support from within Israel to the PA. Some of the most vicious anti-Israel sites have their servers in Israel. It amazes me that we do nothing it amazes me that we allow Ehud Barak who has in my opinion questionable ties to the United States and Clintons to continue to make foreign-policy decisions for Israel. No More Compromise No More Concessions.
6. You think peace is hard?!!??!
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.21.11)
You should see my wife when I leave my coffee mug anywhere but the sink...
7. USA president speech
abraham ,   scarsdale nn usa   (09.21.11)
The speech made by the president is very nice. The conduct of the Palestinians is traditional arab. No jews in their country. The best solution annex all territories and expel the arabs.
8. a president lashes out...
eporue ,   europe   (09.21.11)
...so, this went in all directions... but did he really not specify, what precisely should be done instead (of the UN bid) ? i mean the word "negotiations" has become ridiculous in this context... hm...
9. US VETO = SUPPORT FOR HAMAS!!
Yousuf ,   USA   (09.21.11)
You chicken hawks commenting, think your so tough. You don't realize the more oppressive Israel is, the harder Palestinian and Muslim resolve will be, your digging your hole deeper and deeper!!!
10. Great speech
Avramele   (09.21.11)
Like with the economy Obama is cleaning up 8 years of Republican neglect and inaction. But some folks just hate this President more than they love Israel and will show no gratitude forhis cleaning up of Israel's diplomatic mess. Could not Bibi at least have told Danny Danon to stay in his kennel and not appear at a perry campaign event? Further proof that we Jews can be stupid with the best of them!
11. Obama says:,
Haider ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (09.21.11)
"Peace will not come through statements and resolutions at the UN". That´s maybe right. But hey, give me a break. Over 60 years of talks with Israel sabotaging every honest effort for peace, what is there left to do but to expel the Palestinians or to put them in concentration camps.
12. Obama is right..............
pej ,   Canada   (09.21.11)
Only by direct negotiation peace security could achieve. There are so many issues one way or another must be resolved mutually by bothparties. UN cannot impose it's will and decision and be accepted cohesively by two who distrust each other. Good luck to them! In this happening event we need more thinking BRAIN than emotions!
13. Yes he can : Abu Mazen sit down and compromise with Bibi.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (09.21.11)
14. with special thanks to USA Secy of State Clinton!
Sally Forth ,   Israel   (09.21.11)
President, Mr. Obama, did just fine by Israel at the United Nations! His speech was a sign of respect for & special interest in Israel & had nothing 2 do w/ PM Mr. Netanyahu lack of diplomatic skills. At the time of Mr. Obama's speech PM Mr. Netanyahu was meeting with the President of Columbia! What was that about? Further we all remember PM Mr. Netanyahu's recent pro-right wing USA Republican (anti-Obama speech) at the USA congress last summer. Rereading US President's UN speech one can clearly see Secretary of State Clinton's signature! Thank you Ma'am you've been on our side for a very long time! That would be since be before your marriage to Bill!
15. I'm not sure the Zionista know what just hit them...
Persian CAT   (09.21.11)
Obama clearly pointed out the futility of using the UN to bring peace because the Zionista have a track record of ignoring what ALL UN(SC) "resolutions". But at the same time Obama is going to come down on you like a ton of brick to force Israel to live within its 1967 borders. I'm sure deep down the Zionista would have rather have to face the UN instead of the US.
16. Not the truth: 'Each side has legitimate aspirations'.
Jouko ,   Finland   (09.21.11)
Israel has priority over the land! Unless this truth is recognized, there will never be peace!
17. Truth is: Israel has priority over the land!
Jouko ,   Finland   (09.21.11)
18. After this US hypocrisy,
Ahmet ,   Istanbul, Turkey   (09.21.11)
US influence now is zero in the ME. As US gets weaker, the circle is closing on Israel. I see the end of Israel in 10 years.
19. Stop the superficial Two-State "Solution" Mantra.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.21.11)
20. History&geography teach : BIG ISRAEL practical compromise.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.21.11)
21. Go Obama go.
Michael ,   California, USA   (09.21.11)
No shortcuts to a secure peace and to two states living side by side in peace and prosperity. Let's get Nethanyahu promise at the UN that Israel will accept the Green Line borders with small corrections. Let's get both PA factions agree to resume negotiations with Israel. Let's get Shalit released right away. Recognition of Israel by the Arab world and solid peace agreements with Israel's neighbors is a must, but first all the settling efforts and criminal Jewish activities in Yesha must stop.
22. to Nour No State 3
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (09.22.11)
No ,ersatz "Palestinians"do not deserve anything-you already have a state -it's Jordan.Throw that illegal king out and then put up a decent leader. Not like that crook and murderer Abbas.(he was responsible for the murder os Israeli athletes in Munich) His turn will come to face the "music".
23. to 18
John Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (09.22.11)
With your stupid leader you may not be around in 10 years. He is going the right way to achieving that. Foolish post idiot.
24. #3 nour
solomon ,   bklyn   (09.22.11)
Just say it: Israelis deserve peace and security, without rockets or terrorists or suicide bombers. They deserve a peace that will end all demands, and that will end children being taught to be shaheeds and kill Jews. They deserve to live in their own land without it being destroyed by flooding it with ersatz refugees. They deserve a treaty with ALL Palestinians, not just the PA (so that Hamas can go on killing). All the above is NOT negotiable. Simple, isn't it?
25. #21 michael
solomon ,   bklyn   (09.22.11)
The very first things that must stop are rockets, terrorists and suicide bombers. And why should building stop? (btw it is not criminal) Israel has proved that if necessary they will withdraw (as they did from Gaza...which resulted in rockets, terrorists and suicide bombers. Hmmm...)
26. #15 Dream on...
solomon ,   bklyn   (09.22.11)
27. Peace never attainable
Alexandre Chinovich   (09.22.11)
The ME Muslims do not want peace, they do not want prosperity, they do not want independence for Palestinian Arabs - just Envy, Hate, Robbery, Murder. They are very hateful and envious public.
28. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.22.11)
The PA has been around for quite a while now. How many Israeli Arabs have moved to areas controlled by the PA in order to help the ersatz "Palestinians" build a viable state? For that matter, how many ersatz "Palestinians" living anywhere in the world relocated to the PA? Not one. Not a single one. On the other hand, when the modern State of Israel was established, Jews from everywhere -- including some who lived in some of the wealthiest Jewish communities in the world -- flocked to Israel in order to help build a thriving state. That is why you will never have a state. You need to actually first have the desire and the ability to work for one, instead of sitting back, wringing your hands, whining endlessly and demanding that someone build it for you. That's just not how it works.
