61. Olmert/Sharon
Dave ,   Boulder   (09.22.11)
Olmert is simply reiterating what Arik Sharon said before he tragically slipped into his coma. There is no other option long term. Consider also that should there be a recognized Palestine, Israel will have the right to treat it like any other nation should it attack the Jewish state. No more kid gloves, Salma.
62. Olmert planning his big political comeback
zionist forever   (09.22.11)
One of the big problems we have with politicians in this country is they go away for a little while usually in disgrace because they screwed up in some way after a little time out they come and make a big comeback. Sharon, Bibi, Barak, Peretz came close. They were all forced out for some reason and then they made a comeback and now Olmert thinks he can be the next one and who knows he might even pull it off. We can hope though that he will soon be occupying Samir Kuntars old cell for a very long time.

64. BUT ABBAS REJECTED OLMERT'S OFFER!
bob kirk ,   las vegas usa   (09.23.11)
Former PM Olmert blames both current PM Netanyahu and Abbas the rejectionist of peace. Yes, Abbas is not Arafat; he knows that terror no longer helps the Palestinians in a post 9/11 world. But he still opposes peace with Israel and has made clear that he and the PA will never accept Israel as the Jewish state which Olmert always said was one of his main demands. So, Olmert;s plan of land transfers, dividing Jerusalem, international supervision of holy places, recognition of Jewish state and refugees not being transferred to Israel were all rejected by Abbas. Given that why would Netanyahu repeat this unrealistic and dangerous offer? What is Olmert's goal? To restore his reputation? Its baseless criticism of Netanyahu.

My pleasure ;-)
66. #51 - probably because it can be backed up with facts
William ,   Israel   (09.23.11)
where as the crap you spew most times contradicts Intl Law because it inconveniently goes against your agenda. Well, that's what happens when racist hatred rules your heart. Little else matters.
67. #50 and taking responsibility
William ,   Israel   (09.23.11)
Israel pulled back from land to push peace. Israel took the initiative to build their economy and other initiatives. Israel has dozens of NGOs working for peace. And the "Palestinians"? Can you hear the crickets, Split?
68. Is Olmert addressing Israel or the "Palestinians"?
William ,   Israel   (09.23.11)
Didn't he offer several generous plans to the "Palestinians" and they still spit in his face? If Olmert thinks Israel is to blame for the current events, he should look back into his own history as PM. He might also find out why he's not PM anymore.
