1. he can count on the dumb jewish american voters!
sarit hod ,   israel   (09.22.11)
2. Obama and the Jews
Bubba ,   Efrat   (09.22.11)
Clearly, Obama Loves Israel and the Jews. That's why he's trying to delay the Arab request for statehood for at least a year, coincidentally when American elections will be held. Can you imagine how, G-d forbid, he'd play Israel as a lame duck , when he won't have to worry about Jewish votes?
3. The USJews proved that they are stupid enough to fall for it
tom ,   tel aviv   (09.22.11)
4. G-D is ruling the world.
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (09.22.11)
To have G-D on our side ALL the Jewish communities in Israel must feel united like a loving family .
5. #2 dumb , dumber?
rita   (09.22.11)
look at it this way- he is sticking his neck out for you guys- there are more non-Jewish voters than Jewish ones. IF he really wanted to, he could just let you guys sink- so, actually, ungrateful comes to mind when reading your dumb statement.
6. FALSE MORAL EQUIVALENCY
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.22.11)
Whenever I hear any politician state that "both sides" need to try harder. When it comes to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict I immediately hear two words in my head, "Moral Equivalency", and it's false. In this conflict both sides are NOT equal. The Palestinians are using unrelenting terrorism against civilians, and Israel's actions, are one of self defense. That's a huge difference that's needs to be pointed out openly and clearly with every speech. The problem is the President wants to appear as a fair broker so he can keep the USA involved, and fears if he states the truth, the obvious, that it will offend the Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims around the world. But not speaking the truth though, you give an implicit approval of the tactics of terrorism. Why? Because they rarely get verbally castigated by any world leaders. The guy on the street doesn't have the time to do in depth research of these kinds of issues. They only know the sound bites they hear on a daily basis. Until world leaders step up and speak the truth, terrorism will only go up, not down. Sometimes you have put appearances aside and say the truth no matter who is offended. In this case the truth is the Palestinians are the ones that need to change, not Israel.
7. Obama and the Jewish Vote
NYC Girl   (09.22.11)
If Rudy Giuliani were to become the Republican candidate, Obama's presidential aspirations would come to a grinding halt. The problem is a lot of Jews find it unpalatable to vote for socially conservative candidates like Rick Perry. And while I'm definitely sympathetic to that point of view, after the presidential train wreck known as Barack Obama, there may be no choice but to vote for the Republican candidate, unless it's Ron Paul...in which case I'd suggest moving to Canada.
8. Does he think we're stupid?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.22.11)
He has lost our vote based on his actions. He will not win it back based on his speeches.
9. It does not take much
Marcel ,   Florida   (09.22.11)
All it takes is a speech sprinkled with a few choice words and the people are mesmerized ,trapped by the consummate deceivers of politics. It works every time ! They never have to match their actions with their speech, the lies are enough.
10. To: NYC Girl at No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.22.11)
Unfortunately, Rudy Giuliani probably could not get vetted, being a two-time cancer survivor. I'd love to see Bloomberg run, but that's probably not going to happen. I'd prefer Romney over Perry, but Romney is a Mormon, which does not sit well with most people. Ron Paul is lunatic fringe. Perry is it. In any event, it is far better than Obama.
11. not the Jewish vote
Michael ,   Haifa   (09.22.11)
Statistically the Jewish vote is insignificant. What counts is the Jewish money for election campaigns. Netanyahu, and his AIPAC sidekicks, should reflect on the possibility of a real, not imagined, antisemitic boomerang coming back at them
12. It takes a special kind of stupid to be fooled by Obama.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.22.11)
It takes a special kind of stupid for Jewish Americans to be fooled by Obama. Obama has not suddenly become Israel's friend, after throwing Israel under a bus his entire term. Obama is desperate. He is losing Congressional Districts held by Democrats for decades on end. New York District 9, for instance, was held by Democrats for more than 90 years till Obama lost it. Obama is an enemy of Israel and the Jewish people. It is political pressure, and nothing else, which motivated his pro-Israel U.N. speech. We should thank the U.S. Congress and the Republican Party for it. Not Obama.
13. Sarah B
J1 ,   Earth   (09.22.11)
So Sarah are you on record saying Perry will be elected in 2012? This would makes my day, week, year.
14. It's a wonder you have any friends left
Mike ,   Mpls, USA   (09.22.11)
So far, there is only one person/one country who has stood up and said he would veto any UN bid by the Palestinians. And that is Obama. Why do I never see any talkbacks ripping on your good buddies from Russia and China? They are always on the side of the Arabs and have always resisted any sanctions on the Iranians, Syrians, or any otherr Arab county. And who sells tons of weapons to your enemies? That would be Russia. Remember all those tanks coming from Egypt? Who supplied all that stuff? It would be awesome if the president let the vote go through and just abstained. Ha, then where would you be? Your arrogance is amazing. No wonder you have so few friends left.
15. Yo, 'Bama, FOOL ME ONCE
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (09.22.11)
why would he even begin to think that if, even the economy were to be ignored, people losing their jobs and homes, hunger that includes more Americans than ever before, ( 1 out of 6 the majority children ) the failure to end the wars as he promised, repeatedly attacking israel, siding with the pals the day BEFORE Bibi's speech before the US congress, specifically saying the '67 borders was the topic, and NOT informing Bibi beforehand, is he forkin' crazy? Obama's delusional. Nov. 2012 can't come quickly enough. Throw the bum out. All who agree say, "Yea'.
16. # 8 Sarah, no, he just thinks he's smarter....
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (09.22.11)
bigger ego than qualifications and, he's a dummy.
17. Finally the pressure on Obama yielded
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.22.11)
some results...but ACTION is needed now, first against Irans illegal nuke program !!! Words are NOT enough...
18. #2...yes he does
James ,   Raleigh US   (09.22.11)
He has flip flopped more on Israel policies than most politicians do about taxes. On top of that, he insulted netanyahu more than once on the national and international stage. He gave a speech in 2009 saying the Palestinians should have a state at the expense of the 67 borders. Now we are supposed to believe he is Israel's friend? It's a poilitical move based off the fact the Jews in NY recently voted for a republican.
19. # 13 J1,'earth'
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (09.22.11)
Romney will be our next President. He's more handsome ( as if central casting called for "Prince Charming" ) and far more sane than Perry, he's so far right he's going in circles. Romney for sure.
20. #1 sarit hod.
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (09.22.11)
It may interest you to know that, Howard Shultz, the CEO of Starbucks, has publicly started a campaign to withhold ALL political funds from any serving members of both teh Congress and Senate and for teh presidency. Over 100 top American CEOS have agreed and, so it seems, haas the American public. One Jew with some clout who just cut off their water and, hence, no java joe. Unless, I see you at Starbucks.
21. #13; J1, RESPONSE
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.22.11)
No, that's not what Sarah said, she thinks Perry would be the best candidate, and I agree with that. But that's certainly not a prediction. If he'll win at this point in time, is simply to early to tell. Ron Paul could play a spoiler if he ran as an independent, but running on the Republican ticket he'll lose, thank G-d. He is a nut, and plenty of baggage.
22. talk for votes will be unequal to action on ground
bernard ross ,   st anns bay, jamaica   (09.22.11)
lets see whatt conditions UNSC attaches. I wager it is a delay with conditions unfavorable to israel. This way Obama gets his cake and eat it too. He hasn't changed he just wants votes. Jewish voters vote on the superficial.
23. Sadly, Jewish liberals will buy it
BH ,   Iowa   (09.22.11)
Hook, line and sinker.
24. To: James at No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.22.11)
Exactly. The operative words being "New York" and "Republican."
25. #14 this speech was NOT pro Israel
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (09.22.11)
Obama might be saying no to the Palestinians, but he's not saying Yes to Israel. This speech is Pro-Obama, and only that. Yes we are grateful that he says he will veto the PA state vote, but we know he will expect us to pay big time for it, even though he has hardly said "PA come to the table or else", as he has done to Israel often.
26. 14 Mike from Mini-US supplies military of
Gavin ,   USA   (09.22.11)
Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, turkey, Pals, Jordan, Pakistan etc.-so US already supplies guns, tanks planes and more to Israel foes. Russia has not supplied arms to Egypt in decades; it never has to Saudi Arabia or Kuwait. Israel sells to China which is very friendly with Israel. Russia & Israel have a growing trade and relations along with India, Brazil, Korea, Australia, Turkmenistan, Taiwan, Japan, Viet Nam, Nigeria, Canada, Malaysia , Greece Cyprus, Spain, Poland,Thailand. You have not noticed France, UK, Canada and other EU nations are working to halt, delay and table PA request at UN. US provided no aid nor arms to Israel until after 1967. UN does not create a nation, It did not create Israel, the Palestinian Jews did that themselves. Only other sovereign states recognize a state. UN admits members which is what PA seeks-membership.Your boisterous display of shallow informed knowledge & hostility makes you the arrogant one. Israel has relations with more nations than 20 years ago.
27. It seems that...
seadog1946 ,   Arthur Kill, NJ   (09.22.11)
With the US having lost any shred of credibility as an impartial broker in the long-running gone/going-nowhere Israeli/Palestinian "peace process", as evidenced by Obama's speech before the UNGA and the current congressional push to stop all US financial aid to the PA, Abbas and the PA should declare bankruptcy, leave the West Bank and move to another country as a government in exile. Let the current military occupiers of the West Bank deal with the reality of forming a puppet "Vichy" style government to administer the non-Israeli Palestinian/Arab residents and quell any "RĂ©sistance" in the West Bank.
28. Great Job, Perry, you managed to make Odumba did THAT!
mary of Bethanyr ,   singapore   (09.22.11)
I GUESS SO, Lots of people were rushing to heap praises for that once in a millennium years speech that Odumba made, forgetting that without Perry's very excellent One that right in NY which he promised to bring US Embassy to Jerusalem... Odumba won't "be forced" to "outdo" any present Republicans' Pro-Israel speeches. irony is US Jewry will fall headlong into his charm all too-willin again! then 2013 will be "business as usual" for Odumba again.
29. To: BH at No. 23
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.22.11)
Not this time. Obama winning a second term would have disastrous consequences for Israel which not even the U.S. Congress could stop, short of impeachment. Most Jews realize that Obama has a private agenda which very much revolves around the Arab and Moslem world. Growing up, I was always told that you vote the party, not the person -- and most Jews have traditionally done that. But in 2012, most Jews will break with tradition, because we have an equally long-standing tradition of loving and supporting Israel.
30. #14, actually it is the US paying for the Egyptian army
Danny   (09.22.11)
and they have M1-Abrams tanks. But hey who cares about facts?
