When the time comes, we can get the Arab Nations to join us for the final blow against Israel."

It is getting so that it is a waste of time to read or listen to the media. Proof of this staqtement is obvious in the case of Abbas. This is a man who wrote a dissertation that denied the Holocaust. He was a top official under Arafat for decades and supported all of Arafat's policies. In addition, he refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish State and in this hostile UN speech denies the historic attachment the Jews have to the land. He also demanded control of the places most holy to Israel in Jerusalem and is not prepared to make any compromises or negotiate with Israel and has allied himself with the genocidal Hamas. Unfortunately, much of the media (along with many leftist Israelis) ignore these facts and only see him as a white haired, grandfatherly figure who dresses in a suit instead of Arafat's most loyal followers and a Holocaust denier to boot. Thus, despite his refusal to negotiate and his stubborness and provocative UN speech, he is always described as a moderate. That's like saying that Dachau was a moderate camp compared to Treblinka. For those of you who's need to have hope despite the facts on the ground, continue to be hopeful that somehow Israel will overcome the hatred from Egypt, and Turkey. Hope that Obama really is a friend to Israel and just not lining up Jewish support for the 2012 election, Hope that somehow Iran is prevented from getting the bomb and most of all, hope that one day the Palestinians will get a Martin Luther King like leader who truly wants peace and is able to change the Palestinian culture of hate.

I enjoyed Bibi's speech. While listening to Abbas' speech, I noted some mistakes. Israeli's who have protested or defended their land from Arabs raids have been arrested by Israeli IDF. The IDF have dismantled Jewish settlements. Meanwhile, Gilad Shunit is still captive in Gaza. Rockets are launched into Israel daily from Gaza. Recognition of Israel as a Jewish state is denied from Abbas. Palestinians apparently want all of the state of Israel as the Palestinian state, from Mr. Abbas' comments. Mr. Abbas stated he only wants 22 percent of former Palestine. Given that Jordan contains 78 percent of former Palestine, that leaves no land for Israel. Bad math, I guess?

And as for the rest - his arrogance produced an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Peace is impossible as long as leaders like Netanyahu continue to lie with impunity. Rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel are far, far fewer and far less destructive than rockets from Israel into Gaza. Furthermore, Palestinian resistance of any kind is a consequence of Israeli theft of land and homes, its brutal and illegal occupation and its unending character assassination of the indigenous people in order to conceal the true nature of Israel's dream of a Jewish state covering most if not all of historic Palestine.
