moron ,   galut   (09.25.11)
oslo was a mistake--when you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas!..another truth is that the west bank is too small for another[terrorist] state-jordan is arab palestine..bibi's dad is right
3. Let's remember what Bibi said:
Michael ,   California, USA   (09.25.11)
Per this katava: "Just like the lowliest talkbacker, it included insults against the UN, against Islam, and against the Palestinians " And we know where the crowd of the lowliest talkbackers is ...
4. I agree
Ramon Jimenez ,   New York,USA   (09.25.11)
I spent the last 3 days glued to the television to liten to the speeches made by PA President Abbas and P.M. Netanyahu. A lot of people think that PM Netanyahu made a great speech. That could be the case. But it was not a speech made by a statesman. It did not contain a move forward to somethiong he could claim as an opening by a statesman leading his nation by sheer power of intellectual acumen. Abbas had the upper hand there. He said this is where I want to go, this is what I want to do. Did Netanyahu say anything that would give him leverage in determining where negoations should go? I am afraid not. Saying NO, NO, NO does not lead anywhere. and by the way, no matter how smart you are in building phrases, sentences,he ought to know that a lot of other people too have gone to the same schools and education he has gotten. In the end people read him like an open book, because he has a predictable narrative to tell.
5. Seven out of Ten!
JW ,   Haifa   (09.25.11)
It was Bibi's version of a truly great speech by a truly great leader, "Mr Gorbachev, tear down that wall!" Trouble is, he isn't Reagan.
6. Nuriel has no argument
Al   (09.25.11)
Not liking being wrong is not the same as being right. I challenge him to show a misstatement.
7. Bibi wouldnt recognize the truth if it was sitting in his la
Eitan ,   TA   (09.25.11)
Not only he brained washed his followers he brain washed himself. Besides his die hard followers nobody in the world takes him seriously not alone belives what he says. He seem not too stable mentally and the sooner he goes the better.
8. So condemning Islamic and Palis terrorism is insult to them?
(09.25.11)
Is it an insult to UN if Israel asks its members why UN never condemns Palesitnian Arab crimes against its citizens? Every time someone in free world condemns or mentions the crimes Arab racist States or Islamist terrorist states do some Leftists start defending Islamic terrorists states and their extreme racial and fundementalist views and call the Isareli Jews who are tired of all this savage crimes comminted against them by SWORN enemies who don't shy away from voicing their criminal intention, rightist fundementalists! stop shutting the voice of the people of Israel who are tired of the Arab and Islamic fundementalist terrorism you encourage againt them.
9. Nuriel:Bibi surrendered 7 % of W-Bank region Hebron to Palis
Tevye ,   Chelm   (09.25.11)
So stop whining. Besides Sharon, who surrendered Gaza - out of personal interests, not out of ideolgy - , and of course besides of Begin, who gave up Sinai, no other PM gave more. BTW, these were so-called Right-wingers. No left-winger even surrendered, or surrendered more. Unfortunately, this is the truth of our so-called right wing leaders, they are a sham. So stop whining.
10. Nuriel unrelevant speech
camus ,   Ashkelon   (09.25.11)
His argument is full of hate for rightist and Bibi. It prevents him to be honest and objective. Bibi would have won a 100 m race easily that he would find a way to explain that Bibi has lost this race and that he took drugs.
11. Netanyahu
Maurice Eisenstein ,   Munster, USA   (09.25.11)
Nuriel is presenting the standard left/right dichotomy in Israel. There is nothing new there. All it says is that I have never agreed with any party on the right that is seriously suspicious of Arab intent because of the our experience over the past 63 years. You can disagree with this; but, if you say it is not the truth, you are a traitor to the Jewish people.
12. Yes, but....
Gabe ,   Canada   (09.25.11)
PM Netanyahu must take the initiative back from Abbas. Being on the defensive is not what the world will respect. Let Abbas create his State in Gaza. Liberate Judea and Samaria before it is too late.
13. Bibi spoke the truth, but not all of it.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (09.25.11)
Much of what Netanyahu spoke was too close to Peres' "Ve vant p*ss!" mantra. Nowhere in the speech did he make clear that Israel has historic and legal rights and claims of its own, and sometimes they trump those of the Palestinians. I agree with Gabe that Israel must take back the initiative, but not that of the leftists. It's time for Israel to put Abbas and the Palestinians on the defensive, to show how two-faced they've been, and to expose their "no end of conflict" strategy. Whether he avoids doing so because he fears being put back in Obama's doghouse is an open question.
14. To n° 1
Marcela Araújo ,   With you, Brazil   (09.25.11)
It was answers... Answers to you. It was a statement as answer for your first statement. So, we both did statements, but you did first... Ps: Who said to you all these things?
15. Another 5th Column article
Rothbone ,   Sydney   (09.25.11)
. Moshele, Its not only Papa Bibi and Bibi who shares the view of the Land of Israel including Judea Samaria and Jordan. However Jordan has gone forever, never to come back to Jewish rightful ownership. It became another state ruled by a Mecca clan the Hashemite's. Meanwhile the Arabs living in Gaza Judea and Samaria hijacked the "Palestinian identity from Jews who lived there who were the real "Palestinians" and who became Israeli’s. Giving away anymore land is suicidal and rips the soul out of the Jewish heart’s connection to the land... This real estate belongs to Jews both present and future and the respectful continuity of previous generations that had to fight for their survival so we could come to the point where we would control our own land as we do now, Israel. Jewish history and its future will be blemished forever if it ever relinquished anymore land. The Arabs of Gaza Judea and Samaria belong to Jordan whose people make up 90p/c of the population. No Moshele there are many who don’t agree with you Do you understand Arabs will never stop until Israel is wiped of the map? This is a Fight for the Physical and Spiritual Survival of the Jewish people
16. You could not squeeze the truth out of Nutanyahoo even
Chas. ,   Los Angeles   (09.25.11)
if you put him through a wringer.
17. Nothing but the Truth so help me God
Cynic #2   (09.25.11)
Bibi, you'll be calling on God to help you because you will really need him.
18. Thanks Daddy Netanyahu - Keep right on TALKING to Bibi....
YES ,   Israel   (09.25.11)
because for most of us Israelis, you are the the national image of decency, honesty and true Zionism. Kol ha kavod!
19. Bibi was of course right...there is NO
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.25.11)
possibility to give away only one square inch of J+S and not to put the Jewish state on the line...is this so hard to understand ??? COME ON...STOP HYPOCRISY...! Bibi is a MASTER of politics...a state of the art political talent and Israels greatest ACE...!!! I LOVE this man...
20. Before criticizing Mr Netanyahu......
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (09.25.11)
...ask yourselves what sort of speech Ehud Barak or Ehud Olmert would have made and how THEY would have withstood Obama's pro-Arab onslaught. Count yourselves lucky to have a PM like Mr Netanyahu. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!! .
21. Moshe Ronen and Yehuda Nuriel are left wing wackos
Ken Jurist   (09.25.11)
For the last 7 years Abbas has talking how he will flood Israel with millions of Arabs. Abbas hate media has been glorifying and naming streets after Arab terrorists who murder Israeli civilans. Its all there on Palmediawatch. www.palwatch.org Abbas has been trying to deny all Jewish history in Israel and Jerusalem. Yet we have these 2 leftists siding with this Holocaust Denier Abbas.
22. Perhaps he did not read the headline
Beauchard   (09.25.11)
Mr. Nuriel, you mention what Netanyahu did not say. However you do give even one example of a lie. Your only reason for saying he lied is the fact that you do not like him. Perhaps you did not read the headline.
23. External factors leave 1 option: BIG ISRAEL
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.25.11)
24. #3, again can you point out something he said that was false
Danny   (09.26.11)
25. Nuriel say 44 years f occupation? shred his article!
mary of Bethany ,   singapore   (09.26.11)
"The speech also ignored 44 years of occupation..." ... so said Yehuda Nuriel. when i read till this passage... ... the rest did not read any more. nuff said, nuff read. NUFF! ... Nuriel and Orly don't exist anymore!
26. It's been 44 years of liberation for Judea/Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.26.11)
One can't "occupy" one's own land. Judea and Samaria are the ancestral heartland of Israel and legally belong to Israel. This is not a matter of opinion. It has been incontrovertibly proven by many of the world's leading international law experts. Israel has no "occupation". We've had 44 years of liberation for Judea and Samaria.
27. Not an inch. Not on Netanyahu’s watch.
Israeli 2   (09.26.11)
YES INDEED not an inch. I just wish Netanyahu is much stronger than he appears with his speeches. The moment a true Israeli leader will stand up and say: Mistakes were made. Negotiations will be no more. Anexation begins and Palestinians will be shipped to Jordan, he is truly blessed..
28. The PA does not want to negotiate!
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (09.26.11)
By saying, "We will not recognize a Jewish State and we won't allow any Jews in our new State", they effectively prevent any negotiations. Abbas was very foolish to say this and he lost much of the support he had. A big example. Spain's Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez presented a new policy for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on Saturday, declaring Israel as the homeland of the Jews for the first time and saying that the issue of Palestinian refugees should be solved in such a way that it does not compromise Israel's current demographic makeup of a Jewish majority. Jimenez's speech before the United Nations General Assembly is particularly dramatic in light of the fact that Spain is considered the leading EU country to support Palestinian rights.
29. As the lowliest talkbacker, I say : " Good work, Bibi".
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (09.26.11)
30. Abbas did claim right of return
Bob ,   Arkansas   (09.26.11)
Moshe Ronen is not correct to say Abbas' speech omitted ROR. He did it In two places. He cited (wrongly) UNGA Res 194 from 1948 (which of course does not mention refugees' grandchildren), and then later referred to the rights of "millions of refugees." He was pretty clear about his intent.
