Judea and Samaria have belonged to the Jewish people for more than 3,500 years. Moreover, countless world leading international law experts have proven Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel. As for "Palestinians" having a right to their own state...They already have one. It's callled Jordan. They only seek to create another hostile state, in the heart of tiny Israel, to destroy Israel. If the Palis would recognize Israel's right to exist as a national homeland for the Jews, the floodgates would be opened and REAL peace negotiations could start. I wonder how the vote would go were the issue before the European Union the right of the Basque people to self-determination. Or the right of the Kurds to self-determination. What about the right of the Savoyards and Bretonnais of France to self-determination? (Yes, both groups have been seeking self-determination for years). What about the right of the Welsh people to self-determination? Or the Cornish people? (Yes, both groups have been seeking self-determination for years). I can reference quite a few other groups with far better claims to self-determination than accrue to the ersatz "Palestinians." The only difference between those groups and the ersatz "Palestinians," of course, being that the ersatz "Palestinians" have engaged in seven decades of unremitting and deadly acts of terror against Jews in Israel and in the Diaspora. Besides, the ersatz "Palestinians" have rejected no fewer than THREE opportunities for a two-state solution. Their desire for "self-determination" (which they have, by the way, under the ersatz "Palestine" Authority) is therefore called into question. Israel should consign this EU "resolution" to the -- er -- circular file, where it belongs. There are only so many bites at the apple that the ersatz "Palestinians" deserve, and they've exhausted them all.

PA submitted unilateral bid for statehood and has also refused Quartet Proposal without pre-conditions. EU just agreeing with PA pre-conditions--as they always do. PA's statehood bid at UN circumvented all previous agreements with Israel, so Israel may also act unilaterally...

Catherine Ashton, you have NO right or basis to talk about democracy anywhere. You seem utterly allergic to democracy, having spent a political career avoiding the ballot box at every turn: from the CND to a Health Authority to the House of Lords to the mother of all anti-democratic institutions in the west: the EU. You have no democratic right to speak on behalf of anyone about anything. If you cared about the democratic will you'd be campaigning for Britain to leave the EU, which is what most Brits want.

Just not on our lands. The Arabs have 99.93% of the land of the Middle East. Surely those Arab brothers can provide some surplus land. Since ours is such a smaller piece of property we cannot afford to have millions of terrorists on it too.

When Israel conquered Judea and Samaria in 1967 they were stateless lands, since the Arabs had rejected Partition. Jordanian control of the West Bank and Egyptian control of Gaza were recognized only by UK and Pakistan, and Israel could have made a strong case for annexation. But Israeli leaders decided to pursue a land for peace strategy, and the current dicey situation is what has resulted. The question is, Can Israel exist without Samaria and Judea? I don't see how it can.

For the EU, Obama or anyone else to ignore the Palestinian state ruled by British-place interlopers from what is now Sa'udi Aravia is a sham. Ashton, you are, like everyone else, rehashing a THREE-STATE solution. Two Judenrein Arab states, and one Jewish AND Arab state called Israel. Aston, like Obama, and the Quartet, you have no credibility because you do not enunciate the historical truths or the current realities of the problem.

'Appeasement' in our time. The 'Neville Chamberlain gullibility award' goes to Baroness Ashton.
